Smile Daisy Chain's Personal Diary

Day 74 (week 10) - Friday 20th August

Heeeelllllllllloooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww muffins!!

I'm back from my cruise!

It was a nice relaxing holiday, but I got quite sick on the boat so it's not something that I'd do again to be honest. I also had a few deviations, it wasn't so much that I was tempted by other food, but it just wasn't possible to eat what I was supposed to. All of the staff on the boat were Indonesian and unfortunately didn't really understand me when I was asking for things other than what was on the menu.
Anyways... I'm not dwelling on that now. The main point for me is that I did my best in a situation that I couldn't handle, and although I beat myself up over it for the first few days - I emailed my consultant and she was really helpful reminding me that I'm going well and to remember all the good I've done. That really helped me.

I did the gym and lots of walking and I didn't put on any weight while I was away which is good. I'm 100% back on track now that I'm home and feeling good about the program again. Would you believe it? The girl who spat the yoghurt down the sink on my first day a few months ago, actually really missed eating it while I was away!! lol how we change hey!!??

Well I'm pretty tired so I'm not catching up on everyone elses diaries tonight, but will get onto them tomorrow. I hope that everyone has done well and is still going strong.

Night munchkins.

DC

Thanks Kirst - exercising on the cruise was fine actually (once I got over my motion sickness!). It was quite funny running on a tredmill and then hanging on as the boat goes sideways trying not to fall off!! lol

Thanks Jazzi - I did have lots of fun as well as being sick, and I wasn't sick the whole time so it was all good. Looking forward to continuing my journey on Cohens and loving being back on the program. I actually really missed the good food on it!

Smile Daisy Chain's Personal Diary

Day 79 (week 11) - Wednesday 25th August

Good afternoon fellow cohenites! I hope that we're all doing well today!
What a day I've had!! I saw a picture of myself today from the days before I started this program and we went on a holiday to Tasmania and I was so shocked. I cannot believe the person that was in that picture.

So far on my journey I have known that I've lost weight and changed clothes and cm's but I don't know if it ever really sunk in that I look different. People have been telling me that they hardly recognise me anymore, and especially after I've come back from the cruise and they didn't see me for two weeks. I've never really understood it myself. Well at least not until today.

I looked at a picture of a very overweight woman. She had black bags under her eyes, it was hard to see where her chin stopped and her neck started and she had bad skin. She also looked dull in her eyes, no sparkle, and to be honest I hardly could believe that woman was me.

Who was this 'fat' person that I was looking at..?? Surely the picture is wrong and I wasn't really that big, or that unhealthy more to the point. I flicked across in my photos to one of me taken on the cruise and I could not believe the difference. It's only been 11weeks but I cannot believe how different I look. It actually shocked me so much it made me cry!

How did I let myself get to that? How did I not see how bad things were?

The person in the photos now has a sparkle and life in her eyes, she has clear skin and a healthy glow, she has an oval shaped face - not a round one, and she has a chin and a neck!!

On the flip side to feeling ashamed at my picture, is pride. Pride that I set this goal and just went and did it. Pride that I didn't let anything stop me or chicken out before I got where I wanted to be. Pride that I did the hard yards and put myself out there for judgement by everyone, because in loosing weight you are really allowing people to judge you all over again, every compliment of how good you look is a reminder of how bad you were. But I did it - heck I'm living it as we speak - and I'm not giving up. I don't have to THINK that I can do this, because I AM doing this.

I am changing my life and I will never ever look back.

I have vowed to myself to keep trying to love myself, and putting myself first. Sometimes it's easy to keep putting all those that you love and care about first, and you forget about you. You forget to look after yourself and treat yourself kindly. I won't let that happen again.

I never want to look at a picture of myself and feel that way again, I want to feel proud and in control of my life, and Cohen's has given that back to me.

A bit heavy for a Wednesday I know, but I just wanted to share with you all.

This is such a wonderful thing to hear you say. You should be extremely proud of yourself. I know I am proud to know you( even if it is on the net) and you have come so far.

Keep up the great work beautiful Daisy!

Daisy...you have echoed the words I heard in my head so many times with regard to shock and disbelief of who I see in the pics of the start of this journey.

You have every reason to feel proud. We all do - thank you for pointing that out to us sweets.

Day 80 (week 11) - Thursday 26th August

Wow, Day 80! Where did the time go to?!

Thanks Jazzi, Kirst, and Waves for your msgs. So glad to be part of this forum and have all your love!
Mum you're a sweetheart, when I was first reading that msg I though 'that doesn't sound like Aimz' then realised it was you! Have sent you your login again so hope that works. Thanks for your words mum, you have no idea how much both you and Aimz and peanut have helped me. Would have never survived this far without you all. xxx

Now onto exciting news - FOOD - last night my gorgeous mumma bear cooked me SUCH a yummy dinner!! So excited to share with you all, she cooked me 'mum's crispy southern fried chicken' lol - that was her name for it! She cut up my chicken breast allowance into small cubes and crushed my saladas in a bag, then put the chicken in the bag to coat the chicken in the crumbs and then cooked it on the hotplate.

I am not joking it was one of the YUMMIEST things I've ever eaten!! (and the bonus - it was still Cohens food!). She served it with some cooked green capsicum, onion, celery and tomato and the left over crumbs we put in the veggies. OMG - divine!
I took a pic to show you, but will have to upload it when I'm at home and have all my cables etc. I have the same thing for lunch today and I can't wait to eat it! mmmmm
Ohh I also put a little lemon juice on the chicken and that worked a treat to.

My other favourite meal was one that my sister cooked for me when she was down just before my cruise holiday, she made me a veal schnitzel!! I was SO excited, it was like a 'real persons' schnitzel!! She crushed up the biscuits and flattened out some veal, then coated the veal in the crumbs by using a little bit of water and pressing down on it, then fried it up.... mmmm mmmmmm... it was SO good! At the end to get it nice and crispy (as we can't use a lot of oil) she put it under the griller so the edges were all crunchy and it was divine!
Have pics of that too and when you see them you won't believe that it's all 100% Cohens friendly because it looks to yummy to be true!

Ohh, one last thing for today that has perked me up, I'm wearing one of my fav suits in the whole world, it's a Navy Blue tailored suit and I've prob had it for about 3yrs but haven't ever been able to part with it as it still looks good as new (I didn't get to wear it much until it became to small) today I'm wearing it, and not only does it fit - I'm shocked to see that it's actually really loose. The skirt is sitting quite low on my hips and with the jacket done up I still have a lot of room in here! Yes!! High Five!!

So what else... hmm... oww I saw my niece last night at mum & dads too. She is soooo cute!! I'm so in love with her, so perfect and little. She's 3wks old now! How time flies hey.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful day and can grab some of that positive energy I'm sending out to you all.

Hugs, kisses and squishy things.

I do the same thing with my veal. It's a staple for me. Except, I use my pestol and mortor to crush up my biscuits with fresh rosemary leaves (curshing those too). It's devine!!!!

Wow DC....loving the positive vibes flowing from you today. Brightened up my day already. You're a doll!

Talking Daisy Chain's Personal Diary

Day 81 (week 11) - Friday 27th August

Yay! We made it to another Friday! Woooo Hoooo!!

I'm really looking forward to this weekend, Saturday is pretty quiet (thank goodness!) so it'll be spent cleaning the house and doing some much overdue washing! Luckily I fit into so many more clothes now I don't have to do washing as often - lol - on the flip side, I am wearing so many more things there is more to wash when I do get around to it!
Sunday is going to be a great day, my sister (Aimz) is coming down for a visit with us and we are taking mum to see Mary Poppins as her Mothers Day present. Can't WAIT it looks so good and we used to watch it all the time when we were little, so it'll be very special sharing that together.

So I gave in and weighed myself last night, my next weigh in for 12wks is next week, and I'm only about 1kg down from last month. It's not good at all, but I'm trying to think on the positive side - I went on a two week holiday in that time and didn't stick to my plan 100% so really I should be glad that I've at least lost a bit and didn't gain anything and then wipe off this month and start afresh.

I had a bit of a giggle last night when I was going to the shower, I saw my reflection in the mirror and it was hillarious! I can now see a difference in my body but I think b/c I had just eaten my tummy was a bit swolen. Too funnny - I looked like E.T with these long arms and legs and a tummy poking out!!
HHAAAHHHAAA

I have my appraisal today at work, I'm sure it will all be fine, but always get that nervous feeling anyway. I'm so pleased that it's Friday though - the first week back from holidays is always the hardest and I've nearly made it though!!

Well munchkins, I'm off to do some work. Hope that you all have a wonderful Friday and an even better weekend.

Mwa!

Hey DC!

You are sounding so amazingly happy! You can see your smile beaming out from between the words you type! Totally makes me smile and today after being a cranky bum this morning...reading your diary and getting a smile has made me feel all better!

Congrats on the suit fitting and being loose! How amazing! Lucky you put it on now otherwise if you waited a few weeks you may not have fitted into it at all!

Oh and I'm sooo going to try your Mum's crispy chicken and Aimz's veal schnitzel! I actually bought some veal the other day and I'm not a hhuuggee fan of veal but I dont' mind veal schnitzel. And grilling it to get it that nice crispy is such a good idea! I never thought of doing that! So thanks DC's mum and Aimz

Have a fab weekend and keep smiling!
