Re: Peter 14.7 Diary : new me started 27 Feb 07
Today's Weight: 79.7.kg (-0.5kg) Body Fat : 22% body fat Total CMs: (updated Tues.): total of 74.5cm Days until I start Refeed 8 or so. Breakfast: 8:00am Egg with Mushrooms & Tomato Snack: 11:00am Crackers Lunch: 1:30pm Chicken & Cauliflower Stir Fry Snack: 1:50pm ½ Orange Snack: 3pm Crackers, Apple, 1.2 Mandarin Snack: 5pm 1.2 Mandarin Dinner: 6:30pm Roast Beef with Vegs ( spinach, cauliflower and quash) & Crackers Supper: Nothing left. Fluids: 1 real coffee, 3 decaf coffee, 1 decaf tea, 3 litre water, ! herbal tea. Deviations:. Nil. Well today is a BIG day. 1. Today I had my blood test for end of month and for refeed purposes. YEAH!!! No more blood tests. Subject to the processing and refeed writing I should be refeed in a week or so. 2. I took everyone’s advice and moved to the more accurate scale and I read 79.7kg. So another milestone being less than 80kg. I joked with wife that last time I was in the 80’s it was the 1980’s. And I have to keep telling myself 79.7 not 89.7kg when friends asked how I was going today. 3. CM are good, in fact great! After big losses to hip and waist last two weeks I was impressed to see another 2cm of the hips and a huge 3.5cm of waist, all in only 1 week. I guess it makes sense are arms and legs and chest have stabilised so as I am losing kg the only place to go if the gut and hips. An argument for a few more weeks on program before refeed? So overall a very good day and significantly 1 year to the day we left Sydney for our new life in the Country. Peter PS pics are posted. |

Cohen Date: W17 D2 Wednesday 20th June
Today's Weight: 79.3kg (-0.4kg) Body Fat : 22.4% body fat Body Hydration : 56.4% hydration Total CMs: (updated Tues.): total of 74.5cm Days until I start Refeed 7 or so. Breakfast: 9:15am Egg with Mushrooms & Tomato & 1 Cracker Snack: 11:00am 1 Crackers Lunch: 2:15pm Mushrooms stuffed with Cheese and Crackers Snack: 2:45pm Apple Dinner: 7:45pm Green Prawn Soup with Spinach & Crackers Supper: 8:30pm Mango Allowance Fluids: 3 herbal tea, 1 real coffee, 4 decaf coffee, 3 litre water. Deviations:. Nil… A surprising loss of 0.4kg. I had resolved myself to 0.2kg a day at best considering the late stage. There is response in the old metabolism yet! FYI I will now list body fat and body hydration just as a measure to see if it means anything. Peter |

Re: Peter 14.7 Diary : new me started 27 Feb 07
This is a report of comment made in photos that i thought notable.
You all know about the wieght but what a difference in appearance the following CM make: Losss in cm are: Arms average 5cm per arm Legs 9cm per leg and now, the ones that matter" Chest 15cm!....... goodbye man boobs Waist 30.5cm!!!... bugger off GUT! Hips 16cm! ......time to go, love handles and the greatest diff of all: Neck 9CM!!!! hello ten years younger face. The neck really suprised me because I would not have thought I was fat there? It was and that is and classic example of why many colleagues didnot see me was obese as I carried my fat everywehre and looked sticky rather than the "traditonal beer gut male". FYI, Peter |

Cohen Date: W17 D3 Thursday 21st June
Today's Weight: 79.2kg (-0.1kg) Body Fat: 22.3% (-0.%) Body Hydration: 56.7% (+0.3%) Total CMs: (updated Tues.): total of 74.5cm Days until I start Refeed 6 or so. Breakfast: 8:45am Yoghurt & Mango & 1 Cracker Snack: 9:45am 1 Crackers Snack: 11am ½ Apple Lunch: 2:30 pm Chicken Stir Fry with Vegs ( onion, zucchini, spinjach) & Crackers & ½ Apple Snack: 5pm Crackers Dinner: 7:40pm Steak & Veg (squash, cauliflower) Supper: 8:30pm Mandarin Fluids: 1 herbal tea, 1 real coffee, 4 decaf coffee, 1 real tea, 2.7 litre water Deviations: Extra piece of fruit A small loss of 0.1kg. Expect to be hungry today as I had the yoghurt brekkie which leaves less food for the rest of the day and combined with the fruit in the morning seems to spark hunger. And yes I was. Also when wife had a snack after dinner I wanted to join her, hence the mandarin. The lesson is to pace the food more. OVerallstillpretty good. Peter |

Cohen Date:W17 D4 Friday 22nd June
Today's Weight: 78.8kg (-0.4kg) Body Fat: 22.2% (-0.1%) Body Hydration: 56.7% (no change) Total CMs: (updated Tues.): total of 74.5cm Days until I start Refeed 7 or so. Breakfast: 8:45am Yoghurt & Stewed Apple with Cinnamon Snack: 11am 2 Crackers Lunch: 2:30pm Fish Stir Fry (cauliflower, spinach) Snack: 4:30pm Apple Dinner: 7:30pm Steak with Spinach & 2 Crackers Supper: Fluids: 2 herbal tea, 1 real coffee, 3 decaf coffee, 2.5 litre water* ( note bernal tea class as water by my clinic. Deviations: Nil A big loss of 0.4kg. Almost was 0.5 as scales gave 50% either way from number of reading but I thought 0.4kg is ok so why worry. HOWEVER…. This means I have ACHIEVED GOAL 5 and I am UNDER my upper Cohens target. Technically I am finished!!! With refeed a week away I should easily be 78kg before I start and would be nice to be 77.5kg as this is half way between upper and lower target. I should be more pumped but I have so much faith in Cohens it is a little matter of fact that I have lost over 33kg in 1under 17 weeks. Also down another 0.1% body fat. I agree this is variable but the hydration stayed same so it must be good somewhere. Had no eggs this morning so again had the yoghurt but I bothered to stew my apple with cinnamon which seems to change the sugar spike to slower intake so I don’t get so hungry to this from a standard fresh apple. Re: Peter 14.7 Diary : new me started 27 Feb 07
Well, what can I say ? Well done Peter. You've hit the goals and you've reached Cohen's weight. Looking at your photos it's obvious you don't need to lose too much more, unless you were sucking your gut in
So how does it feel ? Relief ? Satisfaction ? Disbelief ? It seems like yesterday that we started on this program yet now you're finished. It's a testament to the programme that you've been able to achieve so much so quickly despite the business trips and lapses in concentration. When you look back at how quickly you achieved an new, healthy body, I think you'll be pretty pleased with yourself. I know I am pleased for you. |

Satisfaction? More pride in my ability to commit. Disbelief? Yeah I think, I have to think hard to say 78.8kg not 88.8kg. Focussed. I still feel I am only part way there. Next is the refeed and then to hold the weight for 12months. Not to get back into the bad habits. Nervous. I am looking forward to more variety but with some concern as I feel like I have been in jail for years and able to go out in free society. That is in jail you life is regimented and ordered where outside you can do what you want. Still a journey to take. I feel like I have climbed MT Everest. I now have to climb down without mishap. Re: Peter 14.7 Diary : new me started 27 Feb 07
Well done Peter on reaching your goal and you did it in 17 weeks which speaks for itself in regard to your commitment.
Dont worry about maintaining your weight post Cohen, from my perspective if you dont refuse to fall back to old habits and simply eat until full a diet abundant in nutrients without the processed carbs you will be fine. For lunch I had a large fresh salad with tomato and avocado, 125grams sliced roast beef and approx 100grams sashimi salmon today, I feel very full, yet I dont feel the same "Friday arvo sleepy" as I would have eating if I ate the old standard friday lunch of 12 months ago: a big plate of spaghetti marinara

Re: Peter 14.7 Diary : new me started 27 Feb 07
Thanks Guys.
LF I agree I shoudl feel full and hope I dont change that. The diff between a bowl of fresh spinach gently wilted in garlic with scotch fillet steak seasoned with sea salt and fresh pepper ( tonights meal) and spag bowl is huge. Anyhow, I have spent $1000 so far on my new look, R M Williams Country ( as i live in the country and always been a brand fiend) is another incentive to stay thin. Also I start designing our new home on our 150 year old heritage bllock ( oak trees, birh, fruit, flower beds, etc..) in July so that challenge will be a good fresh initiative. Lastly, I got a TXT from my clinic. Refeed in in the mail!. If I get it Monday I may be able to take to Sydney. However they say I need to set aside 3 to 4hours to go thorugh with them. Is that right? I met even make the trip to Geelong to do it in person. I have never met Kaz my consellor. Signing off, time for Dinner and Pilates, Peter |

Re: Peter 14.7 Diary : new me started 27 Feb 07
Congratulations Peter. What a great achievement for you. The refeed appointment is 45mins and like you I hadn't met my consultant, Karen so made the trip to Geelong to do both. It was good to be able to put a face to the voice of support and encouragement that I got from my 4 weekly phone calls, and to show off the new body. Remember to take some before photos with you if you make the trip.
Post refeed food choices are certainly challenging. The temptation to eat the non regimented Cohens food is constant, but having enjoyed the benefits of the plan keeps me in check to a degree. I'm still not back to refeed weight but my choices are better and calculated. I'm sure that you will manage to keep the weight off, your attitude and resolve comes across as very strong and determined. Look at how far you've come in such a short time . Again congratulatuions Lauren

Breakfast: 8:30am Egg & Mushroom & Tomato & Crackers Snack: 11:45am Apple Large Lunch: 1pm Chicken Soup (cohen recipe) with extra grams Chicken & Crackers Snack: 3pm Apple large and some dried apple say 4 slices. Snack: 6pm Crackers. Dinner: 7pm Chicken Hot Pot (cauliflower, onion, mushrooms) Supper: 8:30pm Mandarin Fluids: 2 real coffee, 1 decafe coffee, 2 real tea, 2litre water at best. Deviations: Not 5 hours between lunch and brekkie, extra chicken at lunch, dinner a guess of grams., large apples and mandarin = over fruit allowance, not enough water. ANOTHER big loss of 0.5kg. That almost 1kg in two days?!?! Pilates? Got over a mental/physical block? Don’t question good news I say. I even ate an extra fruit ( orange ) yesterday but was 1 x 2 crackers less than usual. Went out this day above so grams a guess for dinner and indulged in oversize apples and more fruit. Peter |

Cohen Date:W17 D6 Sunday 24th June
Today's Weight: 78.4kg (+0.1kg) Body Fat: 22.1% (no change) Body Hydration: 56.8% (no change) Total CMs: (updated Tues.): total of 74.5cm Days until I start Refeed 6 or so. Breakfast: 10:30am Cheese Stuffed Mushroom & Crackers Snack: 11:15am ½ Apple ½ Orange Lunch: 1:30pm Yoghurt & ½ Apple Stewed Snack: 5pm Crackers & ½ Orange Dinner: 6:30pm Baked Chicken with Asparagus, Onion, Garlic, Squash & Tomato Supper: Nil Fluids: 1 real coffee, 4 decaf coffees, 2 cups of tea, 1 herbal tea, 2.5 litre water Deviations:.Only 3 hour between brekkie and lunch. Dinner over allowance A gain on 0.1kg but considering yesterday’s fruit I am not surprised. Yet I did not move on the body fat so we are taking a minor change amended by even a visit to the toilet so nothing to worry about. Had the lunch meal for brekkie (first time) so will see if I can coupe with yoghurt or egg for dinner. Went with yoghurt for lunch and ate early on the logic that you shouldn’t eat your last meal too late, like after 8pm. That’s my excuse anyhow. Means dinner was reasonable hour. Over grams as daughter was exhausting and difficult to concentrate and cook for family. In Sydney from tomorrow night so will try to keep on the site. Peter |
