Hi! I start my Cohen's eating plan this week. Was looking for information before I decided to do the diet and found this forum - has been heaps of help and has great information on it. Such inspiration and motivation from everyone as well. I have about 50kg to lose, so I need all the motivation I can find! I'm really excited about starting, can't wait for the "new me"!!

Hi, and welcome to the "two L's" - losingfast, and luckyjem.

Losingfast - was that a hope? Or did you know you really would "lose fast"? Hmm, might've just been a positive affirmation.... Whatever, it seems you chose the right name eh? Doing well !!

Luckyjem - Nice name there - another "positive slant" too. Some say you make your own luck, Jem - and I guess you have (by choosing Cohens). So, continue to stay true to the Plan, and strive to be happy - people will soon be telling you how "lucky" you are to be able to lose weight.

If you wish, each of you can go set up a Diary in the New Diary section. Do read the "stickies" in that section too, as they detail what else you need to do.... Once set up, make a few friends who have all likely just started too - find a running mate (or 10 ) and settle in for a great journey.

Since I've noticed some are a little unsure of just "what to do", I thought it would be useful to make a few suggestions:-

If you are planning to "do" Cohens, start out by going to the "New Diaries" forum, and start a thread with "Fred's Diary" or "Samantha's Diary" as the title of the topic. This will then be the place to - tell us all about yourself, your goals, your problems, your day-to-day, your weightloss, ask questions, etc. Check out a few "diary" posts and you'll get the idea.
HOW?

Go to the "New Diaries" forum, then look near the top left side of the screen you will see a button called "New Thread" - click on that... then type what you want to, and, when finished, click "Submit reply" to finish.
While in "New Diaries", and upon making your Diary, DO go to the "Stickies" (these are important threads that are "stuck" at the top of each page. In there, it tells you the "Rules" for having a Diary on here - so DO respond by putting in your "Diary Request" at the same time.

If you have questions about food, try checking out the "Discussion on Cohens Lifestyle" forum. Have a read - many problems with food are common, and answers have already been provided somewhere in this forum. But, if YOUR question ISN'T there, then start a "new topic" there to ask the question ...

As you get more familiar, do check out all of the other forums - "Tips, Tricks and Recipes" is very popular (especially when Cohens diet starts to get BORING!!!). Many of the "Tips" can help to encourage you on your path - they've been presented by others who have already walked down the same path. Or, YOU can add to them where you have discovered something that has really helped you.

The photos section has now changed and photos belong in your "albums" - see Photo Albums for help re doing that - the link is from FAQ (which has a wealth of other answers to questions too)

The "Chat" forum (way down the bottom) is for all of the day-to-day stuff that has nothing to do with Cohens, but you wanted to tell us anyway (of course, you can do this in your Diary too...)

For anyone starting out in anything, we all start out "not knowing enough to even know how to ask a decent question". It is common to every facet of life. Don't feel bad about it. Just give it a go anyway. SOMEONE here will understand what you are endeavouring to ask, and will guide you.

And, for those who are unfamiliar with the Internet, PLEASE don't make posts with all capital letters. On the Internet, capital letters are used (apart from the usual start of sentence, first letter of a name, etc.) ONLY for emphasis - e.g. "WOW!! Look at YOU? You've done so well!!" If you type ALL of your post in Capitals, it is deemed to be SHOUTING (and it really is much harder to read - so please don't do it)

It's good to have you here,

Koh
Can anyone tell me how to insert the weight tracking on my signature? Thanks toni

Hey there Toni!

Here is a helpful thread about adding tickers (weight trackers) to your signature!

Good Luck! (feel free to ask any questions)

Hello there
Am familiar with Cohens as I completed my refeed in May 09, lost 22 kg and had a stunning wedding dress. 7 months post wedding and my old weight has been rediscovered (is this a record?)
Will start again 3/5/10 more disciplined. Will love everyones support and will be supportive back. Time to rid myself of bad habits once and for all

Hi there
Introducing myself. I'm at the other end of the Cohen program - finished, finished Refeeding, now on Maintenance. I feel I've suceeded and I wanted to join to give something back. My clinic helped me and I'm so enthusiastic about this lifestyle program I'd like to give some time to supporting others. I work full time so have limited time to post - but will try!
I've gone from 79kg to 53kg.
