Re: New members - welcome !!
Hi Kylienic,
I guess it is almost "inbuilt" - the old "doubting ourselves" syndrome. Just keep on drawing inspiration/excitement/courage from others who have done this, and know that you can do it too. It's not like you need to FEAR anything here... it's all just food, but the right food, in the right amounts. So, just get in, and give it your all - and KNOW that this one works (if you are like many, other "diets" don't seem to do it for you - this one will, but you need to be on board, and no more than that) One really good thing, Kylie, is that with more to lose, you will lose it quicker - good deal? There are many still going (and many who have finished) who had to lose more than 50Kgs. I don't know where you are at, but hey, it works for them, and will for you too. Good luck for tomorrow - and, just so you know, the first 3 - 4 days can be awful, so keep Nurofen handy, and know that it will pass and you will be feeling awesome in a very short time. Koh

Re: New members - welcome !!
Hello everyone
This is my first post although I have been on the programme for 7 weeks. This is such a great inspirational tool and source of information. I have been doing so well and am quite proud of myself but for a couple of days I have been finding it very hard to resist the forbidden foods. Is this a normal thing for this stage or is it just my lack of will power? |

Re: New members - welcome !!
Hi All,
Before I wrote on here I went through many different discussion forums. This place is awesome and I wish I found it earlier but better late than never. I have lost 20kg in my first 2 months, still trying to get my head around that loss. I think we have to be careful on this site as to what we do and dont want to take on/listen to. Some comments on this site leave me questioning what I am doing so I just tell myself to keep on going to way I am. Try and read your booklet weekly, it keeps everything fresh in your mind Good luck to all! |

Hi Joby
20 kgs in 2 months - that's fantastic! How much do you need/want to lose - you could almost be at your goal weight! Very Inspirational. Just wondering - what did you mean by the quote below?: Quote:

Re: New members - welcome !!
HI Everyone
Tomorrow is my first day on the programme. Looking forward to it and dreading it at the same time. However, with a BMI of super obese and a weight just under 150kgs this is quite literally a matter of life and death. Some discomfort and perhaps a little inconvenience over the next few months will result in adding years to my life. My weight is playing havoc with my body. Cycles out of whack, diabetes, high blood pressure and not being able to get a restful night sleep. Next week is my birthday. I consider this an early gift to myself. On we go |

Re: New members - welcome !!
Hello, I am going for the consultation tomorrow. I am in mixed feelings as I have tried lots of different ways to lose weight, including diet pills and exercise but its so hard to lose beyond a certain mark and the lost weight just rebounds back quickly. I certainly hope that cohen diet works for me, but at the same time I am worried that it will be hard to follow and I would certainly need lots and lots of discipline and motivation. I am also scared of regaining the lost weight.
Also, I have been buying a lot of clothes in smaller sizes recently. Can't wait for the day where I can look into the mirror and see how good those clothes look on me and that I can look at photos of myself without cringing Think I would need to shed about 15 - 17 kg of weight. I AM SO SO EXCITED!!! |

Re: New members - welcome !!
Hi All
Today is day 3 for me. Im hungry a little today and a little dizzy. Trying to keep up with my water intake. Getting there By the way, I have never used forums before so im glad this is my first forum and with people with the same goal as myself...trying to lose weight for what ever reason, health, detox, preparing for a baby or even to fit into your favourite jeans! Each reason is important and it is why we have joined the Cohens program. Good luck to everyone and hope we all reach our goal weight...no not hope we will reach our goal weight! We need to focus and think positive! Take care |

Re: New members - welcome !!
Hi to all you new ones,
And a special welcome to "Simply Square" - since you may have a longer journey than most, I just wanted to share a thought that struck me.... If you are old enough to recall the "Beatles", you'll relate to this (and, if you're younger, it might make sense anyway). Read on.... The Beatles had a hit song ("All you need is Love") that included the words "Nothing you can do that can't be done" - makes sense eh? But now, Simply Square (and you other new chums), turn that on its head, and reword it like... "Nothing that has been done by others, can't be done by you". And, you're all in the right place to see this first hand. Fill your pockets with the good vibes on here - spread some around yourselves, and make this journey one of success, happiness, and excitement. You'll all do fine by just accepting this is what you need to do, right up-front, and know that you are doing yourselves SO much good. Rock on, team... Koh

Re: New members - welcome !!
HI I'm Carolyn from NZ
I did the info session yesterday and had my bloods today. Just waiting and hanging in there to hear back that I'm accepted onto the programme. I have a lot of weight to lose, but am determined to do it. I have a friend who has lost 50kg in 6 months and it's inspired me that I can do that too. I'm so pleased to have found this forum. Will spend the next few days reading and once I have my programme will start a diary |

Re: New members - welcome !!
Hi There Everyone
I joined up for Cohens today, I nearly died handing over the money but it will be well worth it when I look great in my jeans and my butt doesn't follow me everywhere. I have decided this year is about me, I am divorcing, studying to become a nurse and raising two gorgeous children on my own so I thought hey about time I did something about my weight too as my whole family is obese and I really don't want to be that way anymore. I am hoping by being the first to drop the weight they all might follow suite. I actually won't be starting Cohens until September as I have to have surgery on 20/8 and apparantly you have to wait some time for the anaesthetic to leave the system before you can start the program. Anyway here is hoping this works for me. Thanks everyone |

Re: New members - welcome !!
Hello everyone,
This forum is fantastic, I have been browsing it for the last hour or so and it gives me strength knowing there are so many other brave women starting out on this journey at the same time as me. As well as strong women who have already achieved so many of their goals who can act as inspiration for us all. I haven't started Cohens yet, but am preparing for it and I'll admit it - I'm scared! But I have to do this and more to the point, I know I can do this. I look forward to catching up with you all over the coming months. I'll start my diary soon. Any comments or advice most welcome |

Re: New members - welcome !!
Hi all,
I wanted to do Cohen's years ago but ended up doing other things several times over as you do. My beautiful adorable (did I say beautiful??!!) sister did some research and was hooked on doing Cohen's so she motivated me also. Well she has actually started this week and I am just waiting on some info re gallstones and what I can do while on the program to minimise any chance of getting them (paranoid I know!) Once I'm happy with that I'm in... so it should be any day now! (Disclaimer - I realise gallstones are not caused by Cohen's lifestyle program - they 'can' be a result of a VLCD but will not happen to all) I've made my ticker, got my signature, even put a pic up... set my milestone goals and now I'm waiting *whistles* I can't wait to get started. I've been reading all the forums and they have been so great. Thanks to all of you who give so much, it really does make the world go round... or in this case LESS round! haha I will start a diary once I actually commence the program. I'm sure I'll be seeing a lot more of you all

Re: New members - welcome !!
oh dear, no welcome just a warning that my sig falls outside of the guidelines. It appears no fun is allowed on the signatures!!!! No animation, regular sized text, 3 lines of text max. I have removed the thank you line but I don't want to remove my cheer squad.. I NEED them!! Where to go now??? Are there any other Cohen's forums where you CAN have a little expression? (Maybe a newer site that has less data on it so the administrators aren't as stressed about size? IT users can be such a pain I know, they think the servers can store endless data and space magically appears!!)

Re: New members - welcome !!
Hi BL,
The limits are there for a reason.... Dialup is one, another is to prevent having "one-line posts" with 10 - 12 lines of "sig". There are other forums out there that DO allow such though.... And, as you said, "storage" is another reason why we impose limits. Nothing to stop you putting animation in your posts (with limits too - sorry). We set things so that the only animation allowed in sigs are for "those who have earned them via completing challenges". You EARN the animation. That's how we play it here. Have a read of the rules (in the FAQ, and duplicated in various stickies). We'd love to welcome you - but it's a two way street (and that is up to you ) Try a Google search for Cohens - I'm not sure how many others might be out there, BL, as I've never gone looking. Koh
