Finally started Cohen yesterday! But I already made a few blunders. It was already 11 p.m. when I realized I forgot to eat one cracker. Then this morning I was not satisfied with my breakfast because it was so little. Good thing I have 2 weighing scales (both new) and I tried the other one. Turned out the one I was using was not accurate! I weighed a 100g bar of soap in both and in one (old) the reading was 220g and in the other one 101 g! So I was able to have a satisfying lunch and dinner.

However for today, Day 2, I have a headache the whole day. Not migraine but still a headache. Hope tomorrow will be better.

Hi Mrox. Happy to know I have an "neighbor" here in Manila. I have a friend who's also in Cohen who started a month ahead of me. Good thing we found this forum.

So far one of the tips I got and am putting into use is adding Sprite Zero to my cooking. It added a little extra flavor to the beef and veggies I had for dinner.

Hi Winkie,

Your comment had my alarm going off !!!!

Quote:

Is it possible that ONE set of scales is set up for lbs and the other for Kgs? My reason for saying that, is that 2.2lb = 1 Kg (and your 220 vs 100 is right in that mould).

Of course, with a lb scale, and smaller amounts, you are dealing with ounces, and they DON'T relate the same way to grams - so, I COULD BE QUITE WRONG.

Just be careful.... maybe it is NOT the scales, but a switch underneath....

Koh

PS At worst, use the scales that said "101g" for that bar of soap..... which I think you did !!

Hi Louise,

Thanks, sweetie....

I love your thought - but I went home to a "list" of things to be done, and, as I reached the end, MORE things were added to it.... If you were a hubby, you would understand

But, in truth, the "things that needed to be done" REALLY did need doing, so we now have our home back to how it was some 10+ years ago, and it looks damn good for it.

So, no, not a "rest", but an accomplishment anyway - just as good perhaps? I just need to tell my arms, shoulders, etc. that it is all over now, and let them settle down, and all will be fine,

Hugs,
Koh

I know the feeling Koh - I never work so hard as when Im on holidays! I have to do all the things I never get time to do when Im travelling. My partner has a gardening business and its the old story about the gardener's garden not being done. I have spent half my time up ladders with a pruning saw and behind a lawn mower etc!! At least this year I didnt get left 20 foot up a tree when the ladder fell off and have to come down a cocoanut tree via the express route!! (Lucky I was hanging onto the tree at the time!!)

Im pleased that your home is looking the better for your holidays even if your a bit sore!!

Hey all,

I've stepped into the same river with you, guys. I started my program yesterday and am still very motivated and excited. Although I feel hungry sometime, I already feel much better psychologically because the awareness of doing something what actually might finally work for me.

I believe the Cohen's program is a tool that works for people who use it right. I hope in finding some friends and support for myself as much as being here for you, too. It's not gonna be easy, but what it is in life? Yet...It's gonna be a fun

Cheers,
Vooshee

Welcome Vooshee. You have taken a great first step. this forum is a wonderful place for support! You should find that your hunger will settle and one thing most of us actually come to love is the feeling of being "empty and comfortable" It doesnt take long and you really notice the difference in how you feel

Hello Louise,

many thanks for your welcome message I was told that the first five days are the worst. To be truthful, this is my eighth day but doesn't feel the worst days are already over. I hardly climb back home from work with the bit of energy I get from food...at the end of the day I feel so exhausted. I hope this will really pass eventually...

I will not give up

Hi Vooshee,

Louise could be "off the air" for a few days (her Co is replacing her computer....) but hey, you are right - hang in there. Everyone is different, and, while most are better after 4 - 5 days, there really is no "one size fits all".

But stay true, and hang tough anyway - with a bit of luck, you should be seeing SOME signs that things are starting to work out for you. If not with energy, how about size? Or weight?

Have you checked? Silly question maybe - girls are usually VERY aware of how well clothes fit.

Anyway, make yourself at home on here - that is what it's for !!

Hi, sitting here ( day 5) with a screaming headache..... Just when I thought I'd skipped the "detox" symptoms.....
But I think that is really reassuring. This happened 1st time round on Cohens ( accompanied by a really good 1st week loss Vooshee..... Just you wait!!!! It makes it all worthwhile.). and my counsellor said the fat you shed has traces of all the medicines you've taken etc, and increasing water intake helps clear it faster.
I have 3 black coffees a day, but no more. And keep my crackers to nibble as regularly as possible.
Anyone else have suggestions?
I'm so happy to be back in control. Feeling good about feeling sick ( lol)

Hey Vooshee,

My energy levels are only just starting to climb, and I am on day 16. For me, the worst of it was day 3 and day 8 or 9 (can't quite remember) but it does get better.

Just want to make sure you are taking your multi-vitamin, as if you aren't this could have a big impact on your energy levels as well.

Just get through it as best you can - it is so worth it in the end. Pretty soon you will get into "the zone" and things will get a lot easier!

Hang in there!

Alli

Hi again,

This is for the recent three - Vooshee, Aussueeater, and Alli - AND for any others coming behind....

I've loved this one for years - a bit of humour for an unfunny "early days" situation:-
http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=221905#post221905

I hope it tickles your funny-bone.....

Works for me, but then, I'm a bit weird (sshh - don't tell Asy )

Hey Girl Rock...I completed Cohen's in December , 2007 having lost 30 kg. I have managed to keep 27 kg off.. just could not manage to stay at my goal for more than a month. It's the best thing I have ever done. The most positive experience of my life. I too, had tried EVERYTHING , Potions, shakes , injections , pills , pre prepared meals , WWatchers Jenny Craig...low carb, no carb, low GI..I had been overweight since the age of 11 ...it took til I was 51 years old to get to Cohens....finally something that worked. Cohen's is the only programme I have ever been on , that when adhered to delivered on all its promises. I never slept or felt better in my entire life...do not be worried be excited.....it is all good from here on...Good luck and hang in there ..you just wait!!!

Since you are a bloke, that "while now" could be just 6 weeks - and the girls are all turning green with envy ...

Anyway, welcome, Rob - if you are going to be around for a bit, you might want to keep a Diary (or not - no compulsion). If so, head to New Diaries, read the "stickies", then kick one off.

If not, just stick around, say "Hi" where it seems right to do so - we work best by helping others, so everyone is welcome to add a comment when you feel compelled to do so.

There's a lot of good info on here - so, fill your pockets..... and join in, as much, or as little as you wish.

Koh
