Hi AJ

Glad to see your scales are going down. You might have been having a bit of a plateau.

I am trying your Chicken rissole recipe today. I noticed in the recipe on Cohens that they add lemon pepper but I would think that wouldn't be allowed because there is sugar and flour products in it. Did you use the lemon pepper or just the curry?

Cheers

Tuti

I didn't use lemon pepper, Tuti, just curry. However, they're fairly flexible. You can add pretty much anything that you wish. Last time I included spring onion, mushroom and zucchini, plus some herbs I had. The previous time I used zucchini and yellow squash (hexi's recipe). My idea is to have something that is bite sized and contains all my meat and vegetable for the meal that I can take out with me when I need to eat out. The same sort of thing could be done with meat or fish, and there are a number of recipes available that at least provide a starting point for other options.

Hi AJ,

I have just been reading through your diary and noticed your comment about having a dry mouth on cohens. I am the same.
I find on a normal day at work I drink 3 of those 750ml Pump bottles full of water and then have about 4 or 5 cups of water between arriving home from work and going to bed but my mouth is always dry.

I know what you mean about not wanting to tell your hubby about how much you weight. My partner is very tall (185cm) and weighs 95kg. He stays reasonably fit because he is a fireman. When I complain to him that I need to loose weight and he has asked me how much I weight my response has always been "not telling you because it is way too much". So he trys to guess my weight. In his mind I would not weigh any more than 85kg (this was before I started Cohens). Now that I have lost 10kg, and told him that, he seems to think I weight mid 70's. God is he wrong.

Have decided when I get to about 65kg I will tell him just how much I really did weigh before I started this program. My heaviest was 97kg straight after new years this year. That was when I decided I needed to do something desparately.

Jodie

WOW AJ!!!!

WAY TO GO! The parallels are uncanny though! you lost 600g today & I lost 500g. GOOD JOB!

I think Tuti was right in that you were having a bit of a plateau. You've sure had a good week just like I have. Had you been a monthly weigher you wouldn't have had any of the anxiety at all. I like the the daily weighings as well as I can also get a gauge on changing my diet to see if it has any effects from day to day.

I would have to agree with you on the usage of lemon pepper. I do not think it's an approved Condiment. This taken from my bible:

Quote:
You may use all condiments such as Black Pepper, Curry (powder only), Mustard (powder only, Vinegar and Garlic.
You may use all dried herbs such as Basil, Rosemary, Oregano, etc.
If you use fresh herbs they must be weighed as part of your vegetable allowance. You may use pure spices such as Tumeric, but NOT mixes, i.e.,, Barbeque Spice, steak blend, etc.
Limited amounts of Salt
You may not used any pre mixed herb or spices for example curry paste, minced garlic etc.
Yeah, the dry mouth hit me full force this past week big time. Because of that my water consumption is starting to rise as I have a definite reminder to drink!

Again, Good job both today and this week!

Day 4, Week 9
Down another 200 gms I can't remember having a second drop after a good fall since the very beginning. I still have one day left before two months is up, and have managed 5 kg, so not too bad. My consultant said the other day that the 2nd four weeks is likely to be slow, so perhaps I'll go a bit faster in this four weeks.

I'm at a bit of a milestone. I've now lost 2 stone (remember, I'm still thinking in stones and pounds) since I started. That's quite an achievement in two months Also, I'm exactly 2 kg away from weighing 90 kg.

Yesterday morning I was wondering what to put on for a day at home. I decided I might as well get a final bit of use out of a pair of my previous 'going out' pants. They have an elastic top that's always been tight to pull on. No problems yesterday. I was a bit disappointed to find that they really didn't look loose. Then I realised they were way too long That prompted me to spend the morning trying on old clothes. I was wearing too tight size 20 when I started (really, size 22). I'm now wearing size 18. I tried some size 16 clothes in Myers the other day, just to see, but they were way too tight. However, I found quite a lot of size 16 that fit me among my stored clothes. I used to wear skirts when I was working; now I never wear skirts. However, I'm a 16 on top and, provided the skirt has some flare, I can fit into size 16 skirts

Wishing you all a great Monday. Enjoy the holiday for those of you having one.

AJ

Default Re: Annabelle Joy's diary

Oops, I was so excited about fitting into all those clothes that I forgot to acknowledge all my messages of yesterday. So, first off, thanks Koh, hexi, Tuti, Jodie, SMS, Wendy, BFG, Jeannie, Sharon and now Ang for stopping by, and for taking the time to write words of congratulations and encouragement. Thanks also to anyone else just stopping by.

Jodie, I was telling my husband how much I'd lost, never how much I weighed. I didn't want him ever to know the maximum. One day, thinking I must not say whatever the actual weight was, it slipped out anyway. Now I tell him each day the scales reading. He's incredibly supportive, and it's so much easier than having to remember not to let him know

I've had a dry mouth all along, SMS. I'm beginning to wonder how I will cut back to three litres by 75 kg. I'm hoping my consultant was right about the second four weeks typically being slow, and we'll move a bit more this four weeks. Whatever, I'm only looking for 4 kg in the period and will be delighted if it's more. I still like the daily weighing. I'd be much more disappointed if I waited four weeks for only 4.2 kg. Even though it goes up, down and flat, I like to see what's going on.

AJ

Day 5, Week 9
Down another 100 gms. I've had a nice little run of losses three days in a row, and only one day without a loss in the past week. Makes quite a change.

Spent a lot of yesterday sorting clothes and reorganising my wardrobe. I have two large bags of clothes to go to the op shop. I haven't been game to send them off in the past in case I needed them again some day. This time, I'm confident I'll never need them again

Off the the winery today. Hopefully, I will be able to get to the office work.

I was tempted to keep my old clothes to but i thought of i do then i will not worry so much if i put the weight back on. where as now i only have what i fit into i dont want to go out n have to search through those horrid + sizes again.
We are all winners on this change of lifestyle n thats how it will stay.

G'day AJ! Isn't it great to get rid of the old "fat" clothes - I too always hoarded them in case I put it on. But Cohens gives us the confidence to know we won't go back there and it's smaller sizes only - so well done shedding the kilos and the oversize clothes!
