Re: Coconut oil
It's also supposed to be good for your brain and helps people with Alzheimer's.
I make chocolate with it 3/4 cup coconut oil 3/4 cup cocoa 9 tbs of pure maple syrup Chop up a handful of almonds Options are to use cocoanut butter which is pure oil plus flowers and omit the maple syrup Can use stevia use a bit of peppermint flavouring if you like. It's rich but at least it's good for you and satisfies that urge to indulge in bought chocolate!

Re: Coconut oil
LOOOOOOVEEEEE my coconut oil!
Battler, if you can get your hands on it, Rice Malt Syrup has no fructose in it unlike maple syrup...sorry for preaching xxx

Re: Coconut oil
thanks, I have that in my cupboard and hadn't used it. My sister and I were wondering if that would work!
The last time I made it I used organic coconut sweet spread that I saw at wollies. The contents are organic coconut, organic extra virgin coconut oil and organic coconut nectar. Don't need to use any sweetner at all It says that the sweetness comesfrom the coconut flower nectar and the texture of the coconut make this a "wow"in the world of spreads. and suggest using it on toast, pancakes, in pies, sweet pizza or tarts. Pretty versatile. It is dark in colour, kind of looks like peanut butter!

Re: Coconut oil
This is from I quit Sugar website, I just find that she concisely states the info...yes, I am biased, I know xxx
http://iquitsugar.com/sugar-substitu...se-than-sugar/ The 'sugar' that we are advised to give up is fructose, agave is 99% fructose. I am happy with stevia and rice syrup |
