Hi FYM

The small frypan is the go. Mine gets used that much no need to put it in the drawer. I too love my drink but I havent even wanted any since being on the diet (and I drank everyday), so with a bit of luck and Cohens you too may feel the same.

I used to have a small square one as well, before the diet. I used it for fried egg sandwiches. It was the same side as a slice of bread so your egg covered the whole slice without too much hangover. Not much use now as my brekkies are always carb free! even now!

Yep, now have baby frying pan and baby wok for my baby meals. Will try frittata etc when I get bored with yoghurt and crumbed crackers which I'm really enjoying. I'm one of those odd people who likes natural yoghurt.

Today was my son's 3rd birthday so my husband took the day off and we had soft play, picnic in park, ice cream (not me!). All great, but it's like packing for an arctic expedition what with all the separated food for us all.

We were going to have a curry tonight as we had a curry 3 years ago when he was born, but I didn't get prawns so I'll just have to make do (LOL) with fillet steak!

hey yummy mummy...

your 'baby' meals wont seem like baby meals for much longer - they end up looking huge! and are filling...

just think each time you eat that your body has enough fat stores it is using as energy instead of food - baby meals? bring em on i say!!

Hey FYM,

Hexi is right, I had savoury mince last night (from recipe forum) and the meal looked so huge wasn't sure I'd get through it.

I'm sure you curry steak was delicious and hope your little boy had a good day.

Thanks to those who replied.

Things suddenly changed for the worse last night. Everything was great then suddenly (around 7.45pm) I was doubled over with hunger and couldn't eat till 8.30pm. So I'm trying to put my son to bed and read stories etc while weak with hunger.

I was thinking that it may be because I had fruit with lunch whereas in previous days I'd been eating it around 6pm to keep me going through to dinner.

But then today, had normal breakfast (yoghurt and cracker), took husband to work, and was driving back when suddenly felt so nauseous I thought I was going to throw up in the car. Got back in the house and was almost in tears because I couldn't find my cracker box (which turned out to be in the fridge). Just had 2 and feel less nauseous but a bit like I've just had a migraine.

This is really bad news as today is my first day back at work. I'm a lecturer (so very "visible") and it's the first lectures of the courses, so I have to be good. And at the moment I feel like ****.

I'm wondering whether it might be the multi-vitamins. I have some doctor-mixed mult-vits and anti-oxidants where the B6 is high, but my consultant said to try them and see. I left off the first few Cohen days but started again 3 days ago. Maybe it's that?

Help!

I'm drinking the full 3 litres a day plus a couple of cans of soda water at night.

I'm just surprised the detox wasn't earlier in the process.

Well it's the end of the day, and I'm still alive after 6 hours of lecturing. Spacing the food around the lectures took a bit of planning but it worked and I don't feel too bad now. Luckily!

Hope tomorrow is better.

Oooh, the good news is that I couldn't wear my "normal" work clothes as they looked silly. So I'm wearing clothes that looked uncomfortably tight before.

Onwards and downwards!

Hey FYM,

That's good news to read about your "new" clothes. Certainly hope that you're feeling better now. Shouldn't you be sleeping at this time to gain the maximum fat burning effects?

Anyway, just thought to share that I understand what you mean when you need to be "visible" as a lecturer as I'm a school teacher too. Well, hang in there whatever the case, all horrible feelings should be gone quite soon.

Yes, I should, but my class doesn't finish till 9.45 so by the time I get home and unwind.......and then I couldn't sleep until about 12.30, and then my son kept waking up in the night wanting to help me make coffee at 5am!

Feeling pretty good today, but was feeling queasy in bed again last night. I'm wondering if I need to take salt as I'm drinking the full 3 litres of water plus 3 cans of soda water (allowed in my programme) and I dont (never have) use salt. I'm really enjoying the salty taste of the crackers, so maybe my body's telling me something.

FYM, do a search for "sea salt" here. You may well be leaching out mineral salts without sufficient replacement due to the lost volume of food intake and the high volume of water intake. Sea Salt (Celtic) is probably the best thing to replace salt with and it's allowed.

I also think when we are into cohens for a while our taste buds change and everything tastes like it has so much flavour - i too can taste salt easily while on program i guess it is because our bodies are clean and our taste buds become alive again without all the usual 'produced' foods

Hexi, you know, I went the entire programme without any salt in my diet other than that which occurs naturally in the vegetables. I haven't used salt since (when I control what goes into the food). Occasionally, my wife will add the slightest bit of soy sauce and immediately it's too salty for me! Once I got off the salt and sugar condiments my taste buds have become hyperactive, tasting foods differently that I eaten all my life and finding new flavours. I guess that's why they say some of those foods we "missed" all during the diet was kind of anti-climatic once we actually tasted it again!

Well, the first week is over and I've lost 5.1kg and 8cm.

Can I just pause for a moment and go

I'm chuffed to bits. It really hasn't been that hard (apart from the odd moment) and I am SO going to see this through.

Going back to the salt: I couldn't find celtic sea salt (got lots of strange looks when I asked) but I got normal sea salt. I feel OK at the moment so I'll see. Totally agree about noticing tastes, Hexi. I was just saying to my husband this morning that I'd never noticed before that Rocket is peppery.

While perusing the organic section of the supermarket I picked up organic peppermint tea and earl grey. I was quite surprised to find I like the peppermint tea.

Is Earl Grey allowed? It says it contains bergamot oil.

Overall I'm feeling cool. Thanks for all the support guys

You can get Celtic Sea Salt from this shop in Singapore

http://www.supernature.com.sg/

21Orchard Boulevard, Park House #01/21/27, Singapore 248645

You cannot find it on their online shopping but they did confirm to me via email query.

sales@supernature.com.sg

They have a store in Paragon but it does not have celtic sea salt because it is selling Dutch products. They told me it is only available in the store in Park House.

I did not get any celtic sea salt from them. In the end, I just simply rely on normal sea salt for cooking. I know there are some talks that some people prefer himalayan pink salt for cooking too. My colleague uses that and she said it adds a unique flavour to the food. *shrug*
