I hate it when the other half eats chocolate in front of me. I cannot just eat one piece .

Well done for planning a strategy for your event and following it through - you will be surprised at how strong you will become in keeping to your beliefs etc.

Another weekend done and dusted. We didnt go out for our usual valentines day dinner because hubby had no idea where to take me and so when he asked I said i would rather not go out but I did land up taking him for breakfast after we fetched my middle son from his sleepover. i made an effort to look nice even blow dried the hair and put on some make up and off we went. I had my yoghurt and apple beforehand so i just had a black tea while he made his way through a full english and two scones!! He said he felt bad that i was not eating too but it didn't bother me at all the only thing i wished i could have had was his flat white. Im really missing milk all this black tea and coffee is still not pleasurable. In fact i had a cup of tea at my MIL after we went for a nice long walk on Sunday and it was way too strong and i left there feeling like I was going to throw up for two hours afterwards. scales have not moved but with the 6kgs i lost already I assume thats it for a few days seems like such a big loss so quick so I am keeping my expectations for a loss - low. i messed up my timing because we keep eating too late in the mornings so I landed up cooking family meals at 6 and mine at 8 . i cant do that again its just too much work. on the whole I am feeling really great, lighter and very motivated still. people keep saying you look great and its not from noticing my weight loss but it's from the change in me I can stand up straight and look people in the face because I feel confident I know this is working for ME. saying that though my husband has said that my face is half the size and my waist is coming back. My face get very bloated so it would show there first. Not even a mm off my bum/hips it will be the last to budge😬i did laugh to myself when I licked the envelope for a birthday card and wondered to myself why it was so sweet and did i just lick sugar of some sort . I rinsed my mouth quickly. I do find it so awkward cooking dinner for the family last night i made chilli con carne and i couldnt gauge what spices or flavourings to add because i cant taste it so i kept sniffing it. Im sure i must have looked mad! Looking forward to another great week and thanks to everyone for the encouragement and for commenting on my diary i am trolling this forum for inspiration or when i get bored. Thats when I would normally pick up food. Seems like there was never ending sports on telly this weekend so hubby moved between cricket and football so i had no one to chat with. Bye for now.

You're doing real great Tes! The changes start from within which is then projected outside and that is what people notice first. Well done on sticking to your guns!

You should reel your kids in as volunteers 'tasting' the foods - they're the ones having to eat it anyway! It can turn into real fun times with kiddies taking turns to help out mom!

Woke up this morning and climbed onto the scales - its the end of my week 3 on Cohens and weigh in day for me. I know this losing streak wont continue at this pace but really how many people anwyhere else wish for a losing streak to continue - I DO!

Today I am an 80's GIRL and I am so incredibly happy and the changes are really noticeable now - I put away my clothes that don't fit. I know my new friend Elaine says chuck them out - and I think I am going to give them away as she suggests. I dont want to go back - I had just moved into my size 20 jeans now ive packed away the 18's and 16's. I must say my gap 14's fit just dandy but the SA 14's need another few kilo's to not cling so tight. Anyhow no matter what the size - I am so grateful for finding this programme.
And more importantly this is not an easy change to make - the eating is a massive change - so I can really say - without this forum and our chat group I would be struggling my demons like crazy - the motivation here keeps me on track and I need that support - so thank you everyone you have all had a hand in helping me get to where I am this week.

So I have changed my signature and I did my measurements I am down 14.5cm for the week - total of 36cm so far and I have lost a total of 2.4kgs this week and a total of 8.4kg's. (21.6 to go)

Looking forward to the next week. I'm smiling all day today

Fantastic Tes xxx, it's so amazing to move into smaller sizes isn't it! I heartily recommend giving away all you bigger clothes, as it's an incentive to be careful not to gain too much as we don't like buying bigger sizes! I know I turfed my things as I went, and I now have another couple of things to get rid of. If I stop fitting into my size 10 work pants there's TROUBLE! lol

Dear Tes

That is the thing, you just don't know , you very well might stay at a high / fast speed weight loss. I averaged 2.4 ( I think ? it could of been 2.7 ) back in 2013, same with this last little tweek, if I would of stuck to plan and not derail twice I would of started re feed over 2 weeks ago .... But a word of warning if you haven't already start taking zinc and massaging a good body conditioner / lotion into your skin daily do start, something with cocoa butter is good.

Anyway good on you....and congratulations for the wonderful strength to make the change for your self and self esteem. This forum is truly a god send.

All the best lovey

Thanks Louise, N2M, Ciors, Jessy,

I am stoked and more motivated than ever. When I put the pics together it really is a big change. I am not going to let myself down - I am doing this to the very end!!!

I notice I actually don't think about food anymore. Before I would think about it all the time, now I actually sometimes forget to look at the clock - only when I feel the hunger pangs I realise I should have made lunch an hour ago and then its kind of a pain to force myself to go and do it before it gets too late. Its sort of become a necessity and not something I am obsessed with doing if you know what I mean. Lets hope it stays that way

Its a great morning - four week anniversary of my relationship with Dr Cohen and his special gift to me.

Its OFFICIAL - month one done and a whopping - 10.4kgs gone and 45.5cm gone.

I just cannot believe it I had to get on that scale so many times If I say it was more than 7 please know Im not obsessive just couldn't believe my eyes. Also lighter than my hubby today officially (although he is almost half a foot taller - but anyway).

I am not going to be upset when the losses slow now - I keep expecting it and Jessy I know you say it may not slow but this is just too good to be true so I am ever the pessimist and awaiting my day for a plateau or slow down.

If our city wasn't burning to the ground I would probably be sharing my news with the world but there are just too many other worries for everyone right now for anyone to really appreciate this achievement. But I am doing this for ME right so - I'm patting myself on the back and in another 10 Ill be patting myself on my smaller bum!

Next week is my official four weeks with the clinic since I started a week before as I got my plan early so I will only do my new blood test then but I am hoping my sugar is lower which is what prompted this journey in the first place.

Congrats Tes! That is truly amazing and very motivating! Where else have you seen a diet that uses ALL of the food groups and still let you lose weight (at that rate)? Mind-blowing! When are you doing your 4 weeks bloods and check in at the clinic? I am curious to find out what your consultant says about the length of your contract.

Very upsetting news about CT burning and the extremely high temperatures! Unheard of! You mentioned something about 45 degrees the other day and I didn't pay much attention, until I heard about the fires! My mom lives in the WC (Caledon) and she is sharing tips on freezing wet towels etc on our little family Whatsapp group - and people begging the community to put out bowls of sugar water for the poor animals! My heart and prayers go out to you!

Hi Tes, yes, the fires are really devastating and I cannot imagine the turmoil the ppl that are affected by it must be going through, but seriously WELL DONE, you deserve to DANCE with joy, you are doing so well. I had a peek at your photos and the difference is SO evident, I'm really happy for you

Thanks. Yes the fires are devastating and I am in Claremont - the fire is raging and it is quite difficult to breathe even where we are right now with ash falling all over. I went to Constantia just now and my car smells terrible like a house with smoke damage would smell. We are losing some of our best vineyards, Klein Constantia and Eagles nest are both alight and so many people have lost homes. We are helping people evacuate homes - old age homes and horses - Swaanswyk Road near tokai has lots of horse farms they started evacuating the horses off the farms at about 2am. Our firemen are really hero's. The sounds on the street are quite scary - there are just sirens from ambulances, police vans, people rushing to hospital with their hooters on, and all the helicopters rushing around. I cant imagine how those firefighters are coping. Anyhow where I am I am pretty secure the fires would have to hop many roads to get to me first. #tokaifire for pics they are scary. My youngest 6 year old has been crying quite a bit he is very upset about the animals dying. Even the dangerous ones he says - he loves animals and since he was 4 has said he wants to be a vet - I think this is more terrible for him than people's homes being lost. I work in Conservation so I am more pragmatic that the veld needs to burn - not at the expense of peoples homes but although the land looks terrible now it will recover and look more beautiful. Its the aftermath that comes at a price but people in the city are really being amazing helping one another.
