2 words: Op shop! They are great! Saves you so much money when you are zooming down through the sizes, and it's for a good cause!
I'm sorry you've been having a bit of a down period in the last week, but one good wee and you'll be a 70s girl! And then you will feel so motivated and re-energised and you will forget all about feeling down! And at least it's only for a little while that you can't share your family's meals. Just think of how many years you're adding to your life by reclaiming your health! That's a LOT of meals with your family you will be able to enjoy!

woops 2nd time hopefully i won't delete it this time.
it has been great to read all your entries so far - it just shows how brave and determined you've been from the start. i'm so glad that i got to see you during those first weeks else it would've been hard to believe that you could lose weight so quickly. seeing is believing!! you are doing awesome, you are nearly half way to your goal and then you'll be able to come and visit and go on a massive shopping spree!! i am proud of you too!!

Thanks Mette, I know what you mean but sometimes it is just so frustrating!!!!!
Well it's official I'm now a 70's girl, (79.9kg) after waiting two days of weight not moving then wham, down I went!! Can't remember the last time I was down here, might have been about 9 years ago when I broke up with an old boyfriend....... Scary when you start adding up the years!!
Am sort of having a giggle in my head as I have this photo from when I was about 15 (when I used to figure skate) and am thinking that when I'm finished I should put my skating outfit on (knowing my Mum she will still have it stashed somewhere!!) and I would probably just about be the same size, funny how things just pop into your head randomly....... Who knows when this is all over I might even be game enough to post a pic so you can all have a giggle too!!
Went to the physio/chiropractor yesterday as my back is killing me, he has told me it is because I used to have lots holding my spine in place and now that I've lost so much weight, things are moving... he would really like me to do 30 mins walking a day and maybe a pilates class, to help strengthen my core and hopefully stop my sore back!! I have been thinking about the walking as I am really missing my walks and thought a casual stroll shouldn't do me any harm, but am not sure about the pilates, so guess I will have to do some more homework on that one, as don't want to stuff everything up now
Anyway best go and make the kids lunches for tomorrow
Cheers
Melissa

Thanks for visting BeeBee
Have just read your post and just so everybody out there knows, She is actually my sister, this might make post make more sense. Belinda was staying with us the weekend I started Cohens and then came back to stay again about 5 weeks later, so noticed a big difference, because we live so far away (she is in Auckland and I am in Queenstown) I have given her the forum details so she can visit and keep track on how I am going (and maybe you too!!)
I plan to go visit her when I am finished so we can have a big shopping spree (can't wait!!)
So now you are filled in and Bee can't just hide in the wings now and think no one has noticed her!! he he he
Catch ya later

Congrats on being a 70s girl!!!

That's heaps good!
You're right, you should be fine with the walking. As far as the Pilates is concerned, there's only one way to find out. Start out gently, see how you go. And stop if you start feeling hungrier.
Stay strong and keep smiling!

Hey Mette, thanks for dropping in you always put a smile on my face!! As well as having great words of wisdom!!

Well feels like it's been a while since I was last here, but I have been just chugging along (still 100% deviation free!) My official weight this morning was 78.2kg so was pretty impressed, am now in my size 14 jeans and really starting to look for clothes to wear now as everything just seems to hang off me!!

Trade me is doing a roaring trade, but am so impatient waiting for items to arrive..... mind you on the plus side I am getting rid of all the clothes that are too big, so a win win situation as it's not really costing me anything the money comes in and goes straight back out again he he he

Well still haven't managed to get out for a walk yet, weather has been so crappy and I'm cold enough without having to go out in rain so maybe next week! I have had one one on one lesson with the pilates lady to give me a few things to try man even though you think you're not doing much it's hard work so will give it a go.....

Have been feeling a bit more hungry this week but am trying to ignore as it's definately not refeed time yet, so just concentrating on drinking more water and finding something else to do to keep me occupied

Anyway will keep going and check in again soon
Cheers Melissa

Hi Melissa

You are doing so well - 17.2kgs in such a short period of time is an amazing achievement! You will be finished before me at the rate you're going!

Looking forward to following your journey!

Take care

Hey there
Thanks for dropping in MissParker and Mette!
I am judging skating this weekend and have just got home from the rink I could have hung around there for 1 1/2 hours until I have to judge again but thought it better I come home as they have such yummy food for the officials to eat and really wanted to resist temptation!!
They also give you a wee goody bag to say thank you and it's full of fudges and chocs - gutted! So have just put in the fridge and Dean and the kids can have them later........... unless of course you can freeze that sort of thing then I could have as a treat when I'm finished
Doubt they will still be there by then he he he
Anyway best I go rug myself up and get sorted to go sit in a cold skating rink for 3 hours.......
Take care
Melissa

Well today I am 77.0 kgs feels really good but am feeling a bit impatient and want the rest to just disapear too ................. now!! he he
I was right about the chocs didn't have to worry about them being a temptation as my hubbie took care of them all for me
It is Josh's 4th birthday next Thursday so we are starting to get organised for his birthday party, I have to bake his cake next week so that should be a test to make a yummy choc cake and can't even have a taste, let alone icing it!!! It's so hard at the moment as we have been invited to so many bday parties as all his wee friends are turning four too but I have resisted temptation and and am going to stay 100% deviation free!!!
Will have to get some more photos taken next week for 12 weeks down, looking forward to seeing the difference (fingers crossed).
Anyway better go and cook my lunch for tomorrow
cheers
Melissa

Hi Melissa,

I totally understand the birthday party thing. In my first 11 weeks on the program I took my kids to ten parties. That's right ten!!! I ate nothing. Just sipped on my water. It is torture while you are there but when you get home you will feel great that you didn't deviate. Good luck.

Rach

You know, if you walk around with a camera on the birthday, people won't notice you're not eating, and it's a great way to stay occupied and not think abou the food!
You're doing great, Melissa! Stay strong and keep smiling!

I like that camera idea Mette! I really can't say much about the children's party..... I would be more worried about making that delicious chocolate cake if I was you! I love chocolate cake!

No doubt you will have another great week installed and can't wait to see those updated photos )

Hi there!! Thanks for dropping by Rach, Mette and Miss Parker, I really like the camera idea Mette, might just have to do that!!
Well two birthday cakes made and still 100% deviation free YAY!!
Josh decided he wanted a crocodile cake so made it yesterday so he could take to daycare today to share with all his friends. One of the teachers at daycare said to me today, "Josh said that he was really proud of you making his cake, because she can't have any because Mum is on Cohen's you know and that means she can't eat the same food as us!!" - Out of the mouths of babes so cute!! Hard to believe he's going to be 4 tomorrow
I have just finished making another choc cake tonight which I must admit smells devine!!!! but will ice tomorrow, am going to do a train with all the carriages as he really likes Thomas the tank engine!! We are having the big party on Saturday with some of his friends, so thanks to Mette I will be the one walking around with the camera steering clear of all the party food!! Until the cake comes out of course then I plan to take all the glory because I made it!!!! he he he (you have to get some glory I reckon)
Who knows maybe I should post some pics of the finished cakes but then that wouldn't be fair to all us good people trying to do the right thing........... let me know am quite happy to post a pic if someone wants to see

Well am quite impressed with myself, weighed myself this morning and down to 75.4kg wow I lost 700 grams last night, I like it when it just drops off like that!!
Have my offical weigh in at the clinic on Friday and 12 week blood tests too, so lets hope that they are all good!!
Have started taking Blackmores nail, hair and skin supplement as my hair is falling out big time, I know I have a lot but I feel like it is starting to get a bit thin on top and wanted to do something preventative before I go bald!! So fingers crossed it will help and get me through until the end.

Anyway will try and drop in and let you know how the big weigh in goes on friday, otherwise it will be after the party!! I intend to claim another mango so will be staying 100% deviation free!!

Until then
Melissa xx

Good work on staying strong through two cakes and birthday celebrations Melissa! You are truly going great guns!
Keep up the great work!

Your son sounds adorable! How happy were you when you were told how proud he was of you for making the cake! By the way, what's a crocodile cake?

Hi Mette, thanks for dropping by!! I was pretty stoked when the teacher told me what Josh had said!! And a crocodile cake is a cake that looks like a crocodile complete with teeth!! It was the shape of a croc and iced green with yellow belly and had liquorice cut up for toenails and eyelashes a black jelly bean for an eye and yellow pebbles cut in half for the teeth.... I know the things we do for children!!
Anyway best I go back and help him set up his new Thomas the Tank engine tracks
Cheers
Melissa

Well done Melissa on not eat either of those cakes.... I would love to see a picture. Mentally I'm strong so it won't make me go and deviate!!

You are doing so well with your weight loss.... mine has slowed down of late so am trying to do some things differently and see if I get back on track!

Not so good with the hair loss. I have however read that this has happened to quite a few people so you're not alone!

Can't wait to hear how your visit to the clinic went. That reminds me I might book in for mine today too!!

Have a good weekend!!
