Hi HBS,

My daughter is doing really well also having lost 16kg to date. As a 15 year old girl, her confidence has just exploded.
Hey, good on your daughter !! And good on you, Mum, for showing the way....

You must be feeling pretty happy about being almost halfway too - keep on, HBS - sounds like it is helping to change your whole family !!

Well done on enjoying a night out and not deviating, HBS. I phone restaurants in advance and ask if they will weigh my food for me. I choose something that they have in the kitchen (steak or chicken plus salad and an apple for dessert). The ones I've asked have been happy to oblige, and it's lovely to go out occasionally and know I am still eating strictly Cohen food that someone else has prepared.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Hi HBS
I had the same problem with mine, I just clicked in the edit signature box, right clicked and CUT. Then copied the new on in. You and your daughter must be very proud of your achievements so far, good on you.

Thumbs up My cake for breakfast.

Everyone who loves stewed apple should check you lucylou's receipe for 'cake for breakfast'! I had it this morning and it is just to die for! I cooked the muffins last night and kept them at room temperature in a zip lock bag. I am only allowed 2 pieces of fruit a day, so only added 1/2 an apple to my mix and will have the other half for morning tea this morning. For my vege component, I had sliced tomato and cucumber first, then enjoyed the cake with a cup of green tea - YUMMY!! Lucylou's receipes are in the tips and receipes section of this forum if you wish to try this delicious treat!

Thumbs up I have uploaded my before and after photos!!!

Well I have gone and done it..... Yes, I have put those YUKKY photos on the forum for you all to see. It does feel good though to see the difference and makes me all the more determined never to revisit that big side of me again.

Lightbulb Looking for support in Hervey Bay!!!!

Thanks guys for all the encouragement and good wishes. I was lucky enough to be talking to a lady yesterday also on Cohens, however, she is having trouble staying on track. We swapped phone numbers, so hopefully she will contact me if she feels like she is in a difficult phase. She told me she had lost 10kg which is a fantastic effort so far. I told her to log onto this forum, as it is so supportive and gives lots of incentive to do well and aid in not deviating from the plan. I do hope she uses my advice. She too is interested in getting a group together in Hervey Bay of Cohens people to offer some support and have some fun and meet others. Anyone interested, just let me know through the forum message system and I will arrange a meeting for us- I am really hoping some people are intersted as I think a group such as this would be advantageous considering we are so far from face to face contact with the Cohens team.

Having Fun, Merryn (HBS)

Default Wow girl

Well you are on track for your goals. It is good to support each other in this journey. Just remember to take care of yourself and instead of going yuck at your phat photos remind yourself that you are one hottie even with the extra sizing.
Keep the cohen's

Congratulations on halfway, HBS. From that point on I found watching the kilos to go getting smaller was more motivating than the kilos lost getting bigger.

Thumbs up Week 12 blood test tomorrow!!

I am about to do my week 12 blood tests tomorrow (Monday), and another weigh in. Still going strong with following cohens 100% and still have my daugher by my side still deviation free too. My daughter has lost 18kg to date (she is two weeks behind me as she was ill with the flu when I started so we postponed her start date until she was well again). On the weekend I discovered I have actually met one of the members before (many many years ago- about 24 to be precise), she lives in Darwin and I live in SE Queensland, so how funny is that??? It really just goes to show it is a really small world.

Hey HBS!!

OMG!!! what fantastic results in such a short time. That means you are averaging a loss of just over 2kgs a week! AWESOME!!!

A huge CONGRATULATIONS on also passing that halfway milestone!
It is so exciting to see the numbers on the right hand side get smaller and smaller.

I checked out your photos just before I got caught up in all my own stuff, and you are looking fabulous! Way to go!!

I may be up Hervey Bay way some time in November, not sure yet when. Otherwise will definitely be up there in the week after xmas, but I guess most people will be holidaying themselves then as well.
I think a support group is a great idea, as a lot of people need that personal support and contact!

Hope the blood test went well as the weigh in!

Vee

Talking HBS's Breast Screening experience today.

This afternoon I am sooo happy and thankfull. As I have been loosing weight, I have been able to feel lumps and bumps in my breasts that I have never felt before. I visited my GP last week to check these out and she sent me for a mammogram and ultrasound of which I had to wait over a week to have my appointment (very stressful time)!!! Thankfully, it was all OK, and what I was feeling was some glands, and cysts which are all fine and most probably there for a while (under the fat)!! Whilst all was well with me, it is still important to check our breast regularly to detect any changes that may occur in our breast tissue and act upon it. Like I wrote above, we can expect to feel more as we loose more weight (especially the ladies with larger breasts to start with). Overall, I was impressed with my non-deviation through this difficult stressful time. In days gone past (pre Cohens), I probably would have eatten myself stupid given the same circumstance.

By the way, the mammogram was not that bad- I have heard some awful stories from people but thankfully mine was just fine. I am not 40 yet so have never had one before from Breastscreen clinic- I always thought they would be painful.
