Thanks Wendy , I have been making a concerted effort to get to sleep earlier and sleep longer. I do feel better, just had to get through that one rubbish day.

I have been drinking 5 liters of water a day this week and can literally see the the cms melting away. My skin is more hydrated and I feel better. I really need to keep this up, I do so much better.

Last night, I totally wanted to pick at cheese, peoples left over curry grrr, anything non-Cohens really. I stayed strong. The thoughts that got me through:
  • That goal - I know how amazing I can look
  • How far I have come already - don't look back, I'm not going that way
  • It's just a craving and it's one night.
  • When the next kg comes off I can remember saying no to the fridge. Had I said yes I might not be down that kg

Oh and one last thing: somewhere on this forum I read that 1 deviation can take your body about 10 days (I think it was 10) to get back into fat losing mode. Who wants to do 10 days of this with no results?

I have another highly motivating reason - but it has to not be my main reason. Revenge. Yep I need to rub it in someones face. And when that person wants what he can't have I will thank him for his help in getting me where I am and feeling like my old self again. He says he does now but there is too much evidence pointing to the opposite and I'm just not buying all his excuses. It's time for me to move on. I think the only reason I have allowed his existence in my life up till now is because I lost self confidence. He is going to have a shock coming to him.

What a lovely post Blondie. You're already a third of the way there and there are so many changes happening, not just in your body but in your mood and your psyche too - I love that you're getting your self confidence back and going to stick up for yourself! You are no longer a victim but a conqueror! I can see you grabbing your future with both hands and taking back what is rightfully yours! Go get 'em!!

Thank you so much Louise. We will all do this. Its our year!!

I had to come back and post. I have had a bit of an epiphany which may help others.

A few years back I was doing strength training and eating clean. My body was really toned etc but the kgs took forever to drop. I did feel amazing though.

I enjoyed eating clean and I just then made a massive connection for me about what determines whether I find the Cohens EP easy or hard:

It's directly tied up with how I'm feeling about myself.

When my self esteem and self worth are in a good place - I only want Cohens food. I want to treat my body the way it deserves.

When I'm down on myself, no confidence etc I don't care what I eat. Sugar, fat who cares?

I am doing a lot to care for my skin, hair etc and to present well. (as well as I can for now)

If I do feel flat it usually means I need a good nights sleep and not to worry about my mood, I will snap out of it.

I probably haven't said anything new that hasn't been said on here before but maybe someone else out there needed to hear it today. Basically my diary will be made up of a lot of these kinds of musings lol.

Default Re: Blondetastics Diary

I really need to save my posts, I keep hitting a button on my laptop and losing them.

Currently I am like a child on Christmas morning when I face the scales.

In previous attempts at this, I would lose 9kgs in the first month. I have only been strict for 3 weeks I think and hit 8.2kg loss today. I know NYE I behaved. However I think sometime that week I deviated. I didn't get super serious till I came on here I don't think. So having said all that, I have maybe a week until my first month is up. I wish I had made a note of the last time I deviated. Never mind it's irrelevant now. But I am happy that I most likely will reach my 9kg loss over the next week.

My weightloss pattern tends to go like this: 400g down, 400g up then 800g down. Occasionally a days stall in between. So I guess an 800g loss over 3-4 days. After the first week which sees about a 4-5kg loss I average about 1.6kgs a week. So much better than that 1/2 to 1 kg I MIGHT lose per week on any other plan.

I know the dreaded plateau will hit. When that happens I have a plan. Cohens teaches self discipline. It will be time to put that into practice regarding the scales. I will record here how many days I am going to wait before I get on those scales again. And I will commit to sticking to that goal.

I figure that any area where self discipline can be called on, is going to help me in the Cohens After Life. (Within reason, I don't want to be a drill sergeant lol).

The other plan I think might be good is to think of something I really want to buy. I tend to go for beauty products at the moment. Makeup, skin care, etc etc. Shoes and clothes work too. Have something in mind that I wouldn't normally buy and when that plateau hits and I am having a battle of the mind, go and treat myself then.

I am finding drinking the 5 liters of water a day is helping immensely with me feeling thinner. (Is it possible to feel thinner at 114.4kg?)

My muffin top, tuckshop arms and side boobs are significantly reduced. And when I pull up my pectoral muscles on my chest I can see I am going to have a pretty perky set of tatas when I'm done. I consider myself pretty lucky.

My main bone of contention is the cellulite on the back of my legs and butt. I know my butt will improve and most likely disappear but for some reason I have always had a little on the backs of my legs. I really really want to one day have none. Maybe I'm dreaming. But the plan next year is get to the gym, talk to a PT and perfect and tone. I don't want a womans body building body, but you know in those pics where a model is in the swimsuit and the light hits just the right spot to highlight the tone? Yep I want that. Minus any scrap of cellulite. I try to do dry body brushing and keep well moisturized now in the hopes something will make a difference. But for now, water and Cohens are my best friends.

Hope everyone has an awesome week.

Thanks for that link Louise, it's very motivational and who doesn't want more of that?

Feeling pretty happy with a 1.4kg loss so far this week. A top I bought a week or so ago that I couldn't wear in public is now wearable. Other t-shirts are hanging a lot looser on my hips.

I bought a new pair of black pants for work from Target. My plus size 20's are getting too big. The 18's are tightish but wearable and I'm pretty sure in 2 weeks time they will be fitting just right. Its amazing how fast the transitions with clothes happen. Last year I got out of plus size clothes. Can't wait to be there again and able to shop of normal racks. It's funny because I pretty much know what weight I have to be to fit into my next size down (not just fit but be wearable ie I can move in them ). My next goal is 4kgs away - 110kg and I have a pair of jeans I will be in. I have them sitting out waiting.

I had to order polo shirts for work. They didn't have my size in womens so had to go mens xl. They were a bit snug around the hips so I'm hoping by the time they are ready to pick up the will be a lot looser.

So I am travelling pretty well, no complaints here. I haven't been sleeping great and I possibly would be losing more if I were. Hopefully that will get better soon.

I am just so fired up right now. I'm literally tripping on this EP!! I'm finding a lot of support online and I am actively looking for pics and memes that keep me motivated.

The last 2 nights I have been for a walk - round about an hour. My fitness is a lot better than it was late last year. I am fighting the urge to go back to the gym as I don't believe it would be a great idea for me right now. I'm losing the weight. Just stick with the plan and let it happen. Previously when I have been to the gym I have over done it and ended up sick. But it's hard to hold back lol.

Sooooo to calm down, I'm trying to look at other things I can do to help with body image etc and primarily that means trying new beauty products etc etc.

This year is definitely going to be it for me. I hope it is for everyone else on this journey too.

Sounds like you're in the zone - I love how our moods become better as we eat clean on Cohens and that excitement returns, giving us hope for our future skinny selves. We definitely berate ourselves and do a lot of negative talking when we are "failing" at losing weight pre Cohens or other successful plan.

One of the things I really like about this EP is that we can't exercise - I've never been one for the gym or strenuous exercise but certainly feel more like doing exercise when my weight is where it should be and I'm feeling my skinny self. Hang in there Blondie, you'll be able to go back to the gym before you know it

Hey Blondetastic!

I struggle getting 2 litres of water into me every day, how are you managing on 5? what is your secret!

WD on the weight loss!!! It's awesome to see people who are needing to lose big numbers like me. I find that really inspiring and motivational.

I got into 18plus jeans from target in Dec, but the 16s in the plus size are not quite right but my 18+ jeans look horrendous on me. I tried on 18 jeans from Autograph last week (slightly elsastisized) apparently it's no longer jean season there, and those fit well and I could fit into 16s - just a tad tight - particular around my calves. I think I'm still too big to do opshopping

Also, don't you find it stressful doing daily weigh-ins?

Yes Louise, sooooo there in that zone. You are right, we do get hard on ourselves and really that negativity holds us back from just getting right back on track. I think that could be a key reason why people who maintain a normal weight through diet and exercise can sustain it. They don't beat themselves up. They care about themselves and get back to it without too much thought.

Awww Rettstar thank you. It does help knowing there are others who have a little more to lose. I don't feel so alone lol. As far as the water is concerned - I am a freak. I can drink a 1.25 liter bottle in about 5mins. I do believe it is just habit. Today I did 2 1/2 liters in about 10, because I have to go to work at lunch till about 6.30 and I don't want to be peeing at work all day. (I get paid breaks ie don't really sit down, eat on the run, go to the loo in between customers). So hopefully I will get another 1.25 in at work and then only have 1 bottle left when I get home. Admittedly I felt a little over full and sick this morning but it only lasted about 10 mins.

Yes I hear you with jeans shopping.Went to wear my new size 18 pants to work and decided they are a bit too tight still. But the 20's are hanging off me, so I'm hoping another week or 2 and I can wear the 18's. I hate clothes shopping at the moment.

I will be back later to catch up on how everyone is going, have a great day/night everyone.

BT x

PS Rettstar the daily weighing keeps me motivated.

Hi Blondetastic,

Wow, you are full steam ahead. Even thinking about hitting the gym - I'm impressed. But of course, don't over do things. Rest is the magic ingredient that helps everything else work.

I agree with rettstar 5 litres sounds a lot of water, but if it works for you why not. I'm sure it helps no end with hungry pains.

I'm thrilled to hear how 'in the zone' you are, its good to have others 'in the zone' to lean on when you yourself are not so 'in the zone'.

You'll be in those 18s before you know it.

Thanks Donzie, that's true I have to rein my all or nothing attitude in a bit sometimes. I don't want to crash and burn. As far as the water is concerned a few sites say the more extra weight you carry the more you need to drink. They give specific amounts in oz to pounds, so I convert. To be honest I probably need a bit under 5 liters but I'm feeling really good drinking the 5. I will decrease as my need for it decreases. Yes it does help with hunger too.

Work yesterday was just go go go. I barely had time to think which isn't great considering it's a new job and I'm learning. I didn't even have time to drink more than 1/2 a bottle of water, so when I got home I had about just under 2 liters to go. Not my favorite thing to do at that time of the night.

I work through a paid break so no sitting down, just grab a drink of something to eat in between customers. Work is close by so unless I do the late where I finish at 11.30pm, I walk. Walking home I was dead on my feet.

But I was rewarded with an 800g loss this morning. But....... I was so tired, I got up at 6.30, had breakfast and went back to bed. Slept on and off until midday. I just felt body tired and mind tired but the sleep in made a difference. Just hope I can sleep tonight.

Also, even after being out for 7 hours yesterday and not eating from 11.30am to 6.45pm, I wasn't at all hungry. But I did have dinner. Today I woke up hungry. And I was hungry for lunch. I think it was the work. It was just so full on. Also the past few days I have had fish or chicken, no red meat. Today I had red meat for lunch, and drank the water and I feel better.

I do take Blackmores multi for women, an iron tablet, evening primrose, flaxeed oil, magnesium and zinc. I take these mainly because my skin tends to be very dry. (Can't remember why I take magnesium, I think I did a bit of research and it had something to do with helping an out of whack thryoid. I don't trust the medical tests when it comes to thyroids. I believe I have a lot of symptoms. I had a friend who went to the docs years ago and had the standard test. It came back fine, and a few weeks later she got the big swelling in the neck. I figured magnesium will help with something anyway.

Sorry this is a long post for anyone who has the patience to read it lol - a lot of it is just for my own reference for down the track, not to bore the pants off everyone. Just a record of how I'm feeling and possible reasons. I'm convinced this mornings tiredness was just a result of work yesterday really.

hey Blondetastic

Sounds like it's bedlam at your work. It is hard to remain on plan but you can keep snackies around to keep you going, an apple and some bikkies. That will help with feeling less crap I hope

Good luck!

rettstar That's a good idea about the bikkies and fruit. I did mean to take them but totally forgot. But to be honest I don't get hungry at work. Despite the fact that I have to cook fried food. We also get pizza deliveries at night and have pies pasties etc. I think because I work in an area next to the bain marie where it gets quite warm, I tend to get thirsty more than hungry.

Tonight work went really well. I got through my last bottle of water easily. I was thirsty again by the time I got home. I didn't turn the air con on at work so yeah it was pretty warm. I am still feeling really positive. I have officially lost 10kgs since being back on the EP 100%. Looking forward to the next 10 disappearing. I will be close to the half way mark by then.

I got home tonight from work about 11.45, it takes awhile to wind down. I am tired but not exhausted like the last shift. The last 3 nights I have made sure to get to sleep at a reasonable hour, so I'm feeling a lot better for that. I just need to keep that up when I'm not on the late shift.

Noticing a significant difference with the cellulite on the backs of my legs. My skin is looking a lot smoother. Thank you Dr. Cohens, water and awesomely cheap but effective body scrub.
