To quote Rettstar: Hello internet space!

I am still here! I'm due for my monthly weight check on Sunday! My goal was to lose 15 pounds (6.8 Kilos) in the first month with my old plan. I figured it was a goal I could achieve, especially since I started this eating plan 22 pounds heavier than when I first used the plan.

In my cheat weigh in today, I am at 13 pounds (5.8 Kilos) two days short of the one month time frame. So I doubt I will make goal, but I am NOT disappointed! This is still a wonderful loss!

I can't wait to see the inches lost! I am already getting compliments! I have sat at the lounge table at work surrounded by scones, cookies, cupcakes, croissants, chips and salsa and have not picked up one cheat item at all! And that was just yesterday. Last week there were cookies, chips, jelly pastries and doughnut holes. So many goodies that I am ignoring and it's okay! I would love to eat them, but I know it's not good for me and it is not healthy for the long term, so I say NO.

Not saying I'm perfect, either. There have been two or three nights where I ate my last meal AFTER 9 pm on the weekend because I slept in late. I also have not met my 2 L of water every single day. But I'm still trying and I'm still moving forward to continue getting healthy, knowing that I will keep working on staying within guidelines as best as I can!

Hey MrsJ, I find weekends a challenge too. I always sleep in on Saturdays, to about 9am, which puts everything back. Then I go out socialising and shopping and next minute, I'm eating lunch at 4pm (like today).

I don't eat past 9pm, I always make sure I have the same protein for dinner so I'll eat at 8.30pm tonight, but it will be fish, so although I might break the 5 hour rule, I do it with the same protein.

Hope that helps? Then you won't need to stress about 9pm.

ALSO! well done on the cheat weigh in Can't "weight" to see how you go on your official!

Hugs!

**ONE MONTH Update**

Loss: 14.4 pounds (6.53 Kilos)
Chest: -2 inches
Waist: -2.75 inches
Hips: -2 inches
Arm: -.5 inch
Thigh: -.75 inch

I am so surpised that I got that close to my goal! This is very motivating!

I have not been exercising, though and I had planned to do so after the first two weeks, but I didn't. I now am having back pains that I was not having before. I think my body is having issue with the shock of losing that weight so fast and muscles are having trouble adjusting. I think it's a good sign to push me to do some stretches and light strengthing exercises.

Anyway, that's the update!

Hi Rettstar! Thank you for the tips! I do have a point to make about that, though... so tell me what you think about this..

I think if the choice of deviation to make is whether to eat past 9pm or to eat sooner than the 5 hour rule, I think it may be better to eat past 9 and keep the 5 hour time frame intact. The time between proteins has something beneficial to do with breaking down the fats and I think the hormones are a key part of that 5 hour rule. Eating a bit past 9, has it's own problems, but I'm not sure that it is as bad as the other.

I may be off in my theory, but I think I read that somewhere a long time ago.

Well done Ms J - it is so exciting isn't it. I have had my 4 week weigh in too today with great results.
Am loving this eating plan. I agree with you it is so motivating - here's hoping we can keep it up until we get to our goals. This forum is very inspiring too - I have been reading some "Hall of Fame" diaries lately and love reading all the wonderful success stories.

Keep up the good work and have a great week

My consultant was very clear about the 9pm rule as digestion needs to be done before you sleep and you need to wait 2.5 hours minimum before sleeping. Remember we're trying to get HGH working which only happens when we sleep. Now I can't go to sleep late as I have to work, so I will break the 5 hour rule to ensure I get at least 7 hours sleep.

Obviously you go out then sure, it might not be avoidable. However she said same protein if it's before the 5 hour rule is OK.

Now I've had 2 weekends in a row where I've broken the 5 hour rule and still lost weight (2kg per week) so I think am doing alright.

Hi diary and fellow Cohenites,

I am still plugging away and today was my 8 week weight and measurement check. I lost an additional 9 pounds in the 2nd month for a 2 month total of 23.4 pounds (10.61 Kilos).

And since I began, a total of 5.25 inches on my waist and all other measurements still going down awesomely! I lost 3.5 inches on my hips and 2.25 inches on thigh since day 1. Just amazes me!

Thanks everyone for your tips and advice as we get through our fat burning time together!!

If I continue to lose at this nice steady pace, I will be going into refeed in late April or early May when I get to 130 (58.9k) pounds. I weigh 174.0 (78.9k) pounds right now and started at 197.4 pounds (89.5 k).

Good luck everyone!

Fantastic Ms J. You are going so well.

We are both chugging away quite nicely!

I am feeling fantastic, clothes getting too loose and sleeping really well. I feel so more energetic and happy in myself. I do seem to be waking a lot earlier in the mornings but am getting great quality sleep. Could also be as it is Summer here so a lot lighter in the mornings.

I did have a couple of hungry days in the past week where I could have deviated but decided I am going too well to muck it up - I seem to have more willpower doing Cohen's for some reason - maybe its the fast results we get.

Keep up the great work and have a great week.

Hi Ms Jiggles,
I was lucky enough to catch you today when I logged on - good to read your reply, knowing that this website is still a help to you.

Good luck with your rerun (I caught your post in cc's diary). Tell us a bit about how the last 6 years went for you. Did you get to refeed in 2015? Were you then "good" for a long time? Did weight slowly come back, or pile on quick?

As it has been a while, did you manage to catch up with this super-important post (see next link that explains how/why so many seem to "slowly gain weight even as they do Resets in Maintenance").
https://newyouforum.com/forum/showth...654#post447654

As you can see that knowledge is SO IMPORTANT to anyone endeavouring to maintain successfully. And hey, what a shot-in-the-arm just KNOWING of this can be, eh? I'm sure many have been caught by this. Needs to be shouted out in bold letters !!

Anyway, good luck to you for your next part of your journey - who knows, it could be the brightest stage of them all. Good to hear from you again,

Hugs,
Koh

Hi Koh!
Thanks so much for your lovely greeting. so nice to see you again! Well I haven't decided YET which approach I'm going to take to lose the weight I've gained. I think that back in 2015 I was able to keep the weight off for awhile and I don't think I did the official refeed process.. to be honest I don't really remember!

I know that I was at a weight that I didn't consider low enough for me but it felt good to take off what I did.

I'm currently about 182#.. lost about 22# over the last year and now I'm kinda just in a holding pattern. I will definitely read your link.. thank you so much for linking it.

Honestly... thinking about doing this diet again makes me so nervous because it is so strict but I love the results! It truly is harder to maintain than to actually lose it!
