Sure am Louise!!!!! I am now below what my doctor said I would achieve with lapbanding within 18 months after just on 9 months with Cohens.

I think I'm the winner, cohens has saved me mega bucks, taught me good eating habits and given me a whole new lease on life !!!!

Sandie you took the words right out of my mouth. I have seen many healthprofessionals who have had lapbanding who have not done as well as I did on cohens. All those I know have lost weight but not reached a normal BMI and they seem to keep going back to have adjustments. This is definitely a much healthier option, you certainly made the right choice!

Unhappy Dose of the tired's......

Boy am I tired today...... feeling quite flat. Not a big week really, it ran rather steady. I have been feeling great, even had the though of starting some low key excercise but today is a different story. Once the weekend ritual is over with, housework etc I think it'll be kick back and relax time. Not really sleeping that well at the moment either, up well and truly before the arlam and the birds. The body is changing, I'm just hoping for a reasonable lose this week!!! See how it goes... one meal, one day at a time...I will increase my vitamins over the next few days and see if that can give me a lift. Off to get the chores done and then I might even indulge in a forum afternoon...lol

Default Another day ..............

Still feeling tired, bumped up the vitamins to 2 a day. Thinking more about food and feeling hungry. I have increased my water intake to over 3 litres, but this causes the head spins ( the reason I cut back to 2 lt's a day in the first place). Theres a get togehter next week at my clinic so will head along and see if I can get some advise from my consultant or another member. I feel so close but yet sooooooooooooo far away from achieving my goal. I can certainly understand this from others journey's. It just a matter of getting my head around everything, I suppose. I have been trying to keep my mind busy, but the tummy grumbles are a little distracting and my jaws are aching from chewing gum, grumble grumble.

Tomorrow morning is weigh in, fingers crossed its still happening.

Hoping everyone has a great fat burning cohens friendly week !!!!

Sandie

Hi Sandie just popping in to say hi, I find 2 multis helps me definately with keeping my energy levels up.
Im sure your wiegh in will be great. Its a matter of counting down these last kgs. Keep telling yourself you are at the goal before you know it.

Woohoo, Must be a little exciting to see how far you have come.
(I keep pinching myself that this phase will be over shortly.)

Im sure the get together will be another spur on for you.

Have a great week and weigh in...

Maria

Hi Sandie, I know exactly how you are feeling at the moment. I went through almost the same thing a couple of weeks ago. It started around the 20kg to go mark and lasted a few weeks on and off. It was not much fun. I had had it so good and pretty cruisey up until then, when all of a sudden hunger, irritability and tiredness. I'm so glad that it is over now and if it's a similar thing to you I'm sure you will be over it soon too and back to your normal self in no time. Just hang in there.

Thanks Maria and FAAB for dropping in, your support is great and gives me a real boost. The forum has always been my vice when things have been a bit tough, ohhhh no probably my vice all the time. I loved reading the support that is here for everyone, now its great to be given that support. Thanks again I'm sure the hunger will pass and the last 20 will be gone soon.

I was just wondering if this "slowing down" might be a previous steady weight - sometimes those weights need a bit more time to finally break through, then on down you go.

You're doing so well - if your ticker is right, that 20Kgs to go is already HISTORY !!!

I think you have hit the nail on the head, I was around this weight for several years, after having my babies, loooong ago. Then the weight just kept coming, until June last year when I finally decided it had to stop.

Hoping the lull truly is over and the weight is back on the moooove!!!!! It's all downhill from here for the weight....lol

Aww, hugs to you... It's been a long road for sure (but will have you arriving at a great destination - nearly there too )

Now and then, it's time to re-visit your successes - and your diary is key - I'm not sure, Sandie, did you keep a diary of your earlier road? If so, go re-read it. If not, then this one still has some really worthwhile posts - like THIS one:-

http://newyouforum.com/forum/showpos...1&postcount=22

I have no idea how many OTHERS might have been inspired by that - but reread it, and be inspired by yourself once more !!!

Then keep on striding on - one step at a time (even 200g at a time - that's 1.4Kg a week, if you get them daily, but even THAT is not a given eh?) Hang in there, Sandie.....

Oh thanks Koh, you always say the right thing.... hmmm one of my earlier entries, true reflection time. I truly know my journey has been soo worthwhile, long but worthwhile. But it was for the weight lose for the week.... But I will power on

There are not really that many kilo's to go, not considering how many have gone. I revisited my goal weight today 56-59kg. I have update my signature to reflect the higher goal..I have a feeling my body is slowing as my goal is nearing. I am keen to introduce some toning exercise due to my excess flab, yep I expected there to be some...and realise this will take a bit longer to firm up.. thats something I will be really looking forward too.

At the beginning of my journey I set a mental goal for my weight lose to take between 12-15 months and it has only been 10 so I'm still well within the timeline I set.

One thing I have been doing is weighing daily, in anticipation of a good lose.... this will stop as of today. My next weigh in will be on Monday for the final weigh of the 6 week challenge, then its back to monthly. Next blood test due on the 24th of next month...hopefully refeed the month after

Hi Sandie! I'm sorry - I can't believe you have been on Cohens for 10 months! That makes you even more of a legend in my eyes! Here I am - only 8 weeks in and moaning and complaining!

Check you out - you did it all on your own cause you have only been on the forum for a wee while - your 'ticker' says it all - weight loss? Whatever - you are amazing!!! Look at what you have done!!!

Definately kick the daily weighing - that is my opinion anyway - the numbers will keep driving you nuts - they really don't mean anything on a daily level. Your body has worked so hard in the past months so it won't let you down so close to goal!

Big hugs! Moe

Hi Moe, thanks for dropping in...yep daily weigh in's gone. Yer, I've been on the program awhile hehe.. I have been visiting the forum since about Aug and have only had my diary since my visits have stopped at the clinic. I still do my regular blood tests and will get my refeed before June.

I've decided to drop back to one multi vitamin, not sleeping at night, laying there for hours it seems and waking early early. I thought it maybe the vit B.

If someone asked me today if my cohens journey has been hard I'd say no...its really easy. Yesterday I would have said YES its tooo hard. I thinks its my emotions and personal experiences that make it hard. I proud not to deviate, hmmm my consultant did say kissing my husband after he eats a chocolate biscuit IS a deviation...lol I am proud of myself for sticking to this and know I have the strength not to put the weight back on.... one day ...one meal at a time

Default Why did I start cohens ?????

When I started cohens, I didn't do it because I didn't like myself I loved myself, I didn't do it for my husband because he loved me for who I was, I simply did it because it felt right and I needed a change. I needed to find me !! I have 2 beautiful children, both with dedicated partners and between them they have blessed me with 5 adorable grandchildren, they along with my husband are my world. I have spent many years focusing on them, I needed to focus on me.

I can't say it has been me time really because they have been a part of my journey..it has been so great when my eldest granson gives me a toothless grin because his arms fit right around me and we talk about how much weight I have lost. I can just see the pictures in his head as he imagines me carrying him, his little brother and cousin up the stairs (beacuse the three together weigh what I lost). I know they are proud of me.

When I started my self focus, I made other changes I returned to study at the local uni and am due to finish my course in June, maybe two graduations for me

Today is not going to be hard, its going to be a great day !! I love me

Thanks Michelle!! I know I can do this, so glad you've joined me to see the end

Hi Sandie, yes, we really need to do something for ourselves instead of focusing on those people around us all the time. Good for your losses - we've about the same amount of weight to lose, will continue to come by and read on your progress!

Hi Sandie - alot happening for you in June - not far away!

WOW - three of the grannies weigh what you have lost - incredible to actually 'see' what your weight loss 'looks' like! With the changes you have made for your health - you will be around for a looooong time to carry your great-grannies around!

Take care! Keep loving yourself!
