Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Hi Shell...
I had a thought about your hunger... Asy had a theory about where peoples hunger started out from goal in relation to how much weight they had had to lose. You have had to lose a fairly significant amount of weight and it could be that you are actually carrying a lot of skin rather than fat now...?

http://newyouforum.com/smf/index.php?topic=305.0

Worth giving it some thought... it doesnt change anything really... but it might make it easier to deal with ....

I dont know much about what meals you eat etc...but do you try meals 2 or 3 for brekky? I find that I get way less hungry if I do this and have meal 1 for dinner ... and then I only have some crackers in the morning and save my fruit and crackers for afternoon and evening which is when I do get hungry.

Very excited for you Shell!!

Blessya

Hi Shell
Thanks for reading my diary. I asked about breastfeeding before I joined and was told that as long as my baby was well established on solids, it was ok. So that is when I joined. However last week she was teething badly and refused all solids, and hence wanted the breast more. Otherwise I breast feed only moring and night. You have been doing really well over the months you have been on cohens and I hope to follow suit.
Bye For Now Kelly

Shell,

I just wanted to say how fantastic yoru before and after pics look. your posture is even markedly different. in your before you are doing what most of us do when we are big, you pull yourself into a ball when a photo is taken hoping no-one will see just how big we are. And in your afters, you are standing so tall and proud, and you should be. Congratulations on giving yourself the body you deserve! You are a fantastic motivation.

I think the hungry hits hard in the last 7kgs as the body doesn't have much fat to feed from. I remember I was 7kgs out from goal first time around when I started deviating as the hunger got so bad. Don't give up I kick my self now for now fighting it and getting to goal and doing refeed properly.

Looking at your photos you don't seem to have any excess skin you looked toned and well proportioned.

Nothing moving again today

I am 165cm tall, I still have a bit to go around my tummy & upper legs and arms- but I don't know if toning will fix that up after?
I have been VERY hungry the last two weeks
My gaol weight range is 58-62kg.
So any advice would be much appreciated, about when to order re-feed.
The consultants told me that I would get hungry (yes), I would bruise easily (no) and I would get lower back pain (no).

Thanks to everybody for all the positive comments- much appreciated

Shell you have lost over 40kg! Wow, wow wow! I only lost 16kg and i can affirm that exercise can very quickly start to tone slightly flabby thighs and tum! Also, i always use the weightwatchers weight range as a rough guide as it covers the BMI from 18-25 and for you at 165cm the range is 54-68kg. So the bottom of the range for you at 54kg ( to 57kg) is for very small frame people like me! I find not many fit into that category! Most people are more medium range and that is for you 57-62kg so cohens range. For tall people your height the range is 63-68kg! What that means is, most women you see in WW mags who are so happy to be slim have gone for the higher numbers of 63kg upwards, few go below that.

My advice to you. Keep a close eye on it with your consultants. Remember others have continued to LOSE on refeed. I for one, found once i was on refeed and even more so BEYOND, the cravings i had to deviate disappeared! I find it EASIER now to stick to 90-95% cohen weight loss program with the occasional extra and i had no idea that would happen! I love the cohen food and just up the quantities and add in other stuff when i feel like it! Makes life so easy! You are unique so make it yours!

Hey Shell
Hang in there you have come so far I know how you are feeling and Pandora is correct in saying it does get easier. I have bad days and have given into temptation and it is much harder to get on track again. Perhaps start exercising when you have stated refeed. Because you might get really tired and hungry ?? Then it would be hard to be strong
Let me know how you go
Regards Kelly

Thank you Pandora & Kelly,

Pandora did you get the easy bruising, back pain & hunger, or how did you work out it was time to start re-feed?
I want to go as far as I can.
But in saying that I have been really hungry & yesterday I deviated and had more chicken & beef than I was allowed.
I thought if I was going to have anything- to stick to Cohen's allowed food.
Today is another day
Thanks for dropping in
Shell

After much thought I have decided to start re-feed, after my final blood test- Monday week (3 March).

So I will start either on the 10th or 17th March,

I am going to my sisters for a weeks holidays on the week of the 10th and I will be helping the brother in law with farm duties - paving, fencing etc, so being at my sisters will be no hassle for the re-feed preparation.

My question to those who have done re-feed is should I start on the 10th, will the extra excercise help or hinder?

Looking forward to wiser opinions from people who have been there!

Thanks
Shell

Had a real crap day yesterday- everything just seemed too hard & I was really stressing about when to stard re-feed.

Today I feel 100 times better & ready to go as far as I can before I get my re-feed.

I have organised a "working" holiday at my sister's which hopefully will help with the mental side of things, by keeping myself busy and not having time to obsess about this diet- which is what I have been doing lately
Have a great weekend

Shell one of the things that has really amazed me with this diet is that while we think our bodies are dormant they are really working "behind the scenes" so to speak.. time and again while people struggle to drop some weight they continue to lose centimetres, and then after a stagnant time the weight just starts dropping again in big piles, look at Irene, she didnt think the 60's would ever arrive for awhile (not fast enough anyway) then lo and behold once she reached them the weight is just dropping off so fast.. You have amazed me with all of your losses and really look how quickly it has come off.. Maybe your body just needs to catch up and have a breather before continuing on to the last stretch.. you know get some wind, fill up with some air for the big finale'

My sisters stomach started growling really really loud and she was starving so she ordered her refeed even though she was still around 6 kilos from her initial goal..

Thanx for telling us about the bruising and back pain that is a newie for me..

Hope it all comes together for you.. Oh I haven't read your full diary yet but I am gonna now, has your sister seen you skinny?

Hey shell

I hope you don't mind that I showed DH your photos.
HIs reaction was "she looks 20 years younger", and also amazement at the size 8 jeans.
I had a skirt hung up on the door and as it was folded in half he said "is that what you'll be wearing, is that how big a size 8 is?"
the other day he said he'd be happy if I was a size 14, here's hoping I get there. Well, i'll aim for the stars (size 8 ) and if I hit the moon (size 10) at least I would've tried.

good luck with the hunger pangs, don't let it encourage you to deviate. You've come so far, and have done such a great job.

cheers
babytime
