LOL Maya ..

Well I ate yoghurt every morning for about 90% of my program.. so yeah LOL.. BUT I avoided fruit until after lunch cause I felt the fruit in the mornings made me hungry.. but again, that IS just me.. everyone is different.. it doesn't hurt to play around with different things here & there.. within the limits of your program of course.. to see what works best for you & to see where you sit comfortably.

i had yoghurt for two weeks however i felt i was always hungry mid morning. So I prefer to have the egg option as it works best for me to fill me up.

I am finding the new yogurt I have got seems to fill me up more than the others I tried did.
I am out of it at the moment, hopefully the local supermarket can gt some in for me Wednesday, otherwise a 140km round trip to the nearest supermarket that sells it

Maya, i had an egg for breakfast EVERY day since last August !!!! until yesterday! Convinced by my new consultant that it is okay to have yoghurt even tho it has carbs in it and the egg doesnt .... I AM LOVING IT! I was so convinced that i wouldnt like it but gave it a go last 2 days, and i am loving it! 175mls is a ton of yoghurt and i had 180g melon with it!

Thanks to Faithy's advice, i now know i can leave my fruit to LATER in the day and just have the lovely povely yoghurt. For now, i have Valia (consultant recommended) but will try the Black Swan and the Tamar Valley that Shell is raving about next! Oh i can hardly wait for tomorrow morning so i can have more yummy yoghurt! Maya you go for it girl, its got the cohen stamp of approval and shouldnt affect yr weight loss!

p.s. what are the tips people have for sweetening it? Came online to check it out but only found this thread so far? I think from memory others have mentioned using Diet Sprite and some sweetener? I used a sprinkle of Splenda this morning. All yoghurt advice much appreciated since i have found a whole new breakfast world!

Hi Pandora,
Let me know what you think of the Tamar Valley yoghurt
I cut up an apple and cooked it in a small saucepan with a bit of cinnamon, smidge of water & waited till it cooled and had that with my yoghurt!!! YUMMO !!!

Pandora - SPLENDA IS NOT ON THE PROGRAM

the way I do it is get a small bit of hot water and dissolve your sugarine, sugarless or hermeseta (NOT GOLD) tablet in a glass and then pop into yoghurt and stir

Oops, thanks so much Hexi for the info re Splenda. I had the powdery Splenda in my cupboard from ages ago, and since no longer "on" the program, when i ran out of Hermesetas, i thought i'd use it up! Hence i was frantically trying to "find" in my program or on here if Splenda was mentioned! Ah well, only one day of using it, its a bit like i am a newbie, trial and error! At least i have discovered that natch low fat yogurt (yes less than 2% fat etc) tastes cool with a sweetner added! Just has to be the right one!

And thanks for yr idea too Shell, i will try that after i do my shop tomorrow and pick up some Tamar Valley yo!

Me again, i knew i had read the word Splenda on here more than once so i just did a search and came up with an entire page of people using Splenda! So - is it ON the program or not i wonder? I will start a thread to debate it and maybe ASY or someone can cme up with a clinic answer - i would phone my clinic but they are closed Frid and Mondays! Hmm, the plot thickens (just like the yoghurt )

There is a thread over in the community discussion on sweetners but just to clarify...Equal and Splenda are NOT ON THE PROGRAM.

Even the Sugarless sachets and Hermesetas sachets should be avoided...basically stick with 5 tabs per day...

TABLETS - Sugarine, Sugarless OR Hermeseta (NOT GOLD VARIETY)

I am sure this is why I had boderline deviation blood as I was using the sachets and each was equivalant to 2. Just took me 4 months to find this out...it is very unclear on the program

Pandora,

I checked up with my clinic early on cause I had hermesetas powder and sugarless powder - My clinic told me exactly what Hexi said

sugarine or sugarless liquid.

Sugarine, sugarless or hermesatas (not gold) tablets

No powdered sweeteners allowed at all.

I think the people using Splenda here are US Cohens ppl ( pudge springs to mind ) , I think the US Splenda may have different ingredients to ours also.

Heeeey yogurt lovers !!!

After my last measuring and losing almost 9 kg in one month , I will keep having yogurt for breakfast, YES !!!!
I'm having that NON fat greeg one, with 10g of protein and I LOVE IT !
Just over freshly cut up apple and black coffee - LIFE IS FANTASTIC ! I think that's the only meal that really fills me up!

About sweeteners...
See - I don't know where I get informations from, what nationality my consultant is...but in my instructions says 5 packets of artificial sweetener, and Stevia is one of them, so I use it for mint tea once in a while.

I don't put any in my yogurt, I like it plain.

Just saw many differences between Australian instructions and mine (whatever nationality they are )...
So, powder diet sweetener are allowed - isnt that Stevia? I bought it States and has no calories, no carbs and...I found one without after taste...

YOGURT RULES!!!

Maya,

Where are you from? and where is your clinic or are you doing the online thing?

Pandora, Hexi and I are aussies and here powdered sweetener is a No No .... none allowed at all. I beleive it has something to do with teh amount of maltodextrin they add here to prevent it from clumping, but basically it means your body more readily absorbs the sweetenener ( normally sucralose, whihc is teh main ingredient in splenda, has no carbs and is not absorbed by the body).

So it may be allowed for some ppl based in the US or other countried but not in Aus.

No Maya No intruders here. Just friends from other places

I beleive the internet plan is based on the US version which has splenda listed. I could be wrong

I had egg for most of my programme until I couldn't face another, then switched to the yoghurt with a splash of fanta zero. Oh heaven. Even now, nearly a year since I completed the programme ( where did that time go) I still have my yoghurt for brekky every day. Now I add my fruit as well as a few extras and it fills me up. Have to remind myself to have a mid morning snack. I really look forward to it and still measure out 175gms. I make my own and I just love it. Crazy hey. If anyone had given me a bowl of plain natural yoghurt 2 years ago there is no way I would have eaten it. Just goes to show how we can change tastes as well as our lives with this programme.

After about a month of scanning supermarket shelves, I have finally found low fat natural Vaalia yoghurt. Yum! It is so nice I can have it without fruit (fruit plus yoghurt was making me too full - boy has my stomach size changed ) or sweetener - just some cinnamon and psyllium. Thanks Hexi - I think you were the one I first read talking about it

Default Yoghurt

Just a comment
I was advised from a environmental perspective - millions of empty small tubs of yoghurt are thrown away every day world wide (most are not recyclable) and if everyone bought large tubs and dispensed them into smaller reusable containers, there would be an huge instant reduction in waste in just this one small change in habits (ditto water - approx 1 billion bottles thrown away a day in the States & they are one-off use also). So if you chose to buy large & decant or take your own bottled water, you can make a difference!
Cheers
Lyndis
