We can have cheese every day BUT that's provided on the type of cheese. Feta is a no no for every day - perhaps only like once a week? Can't remember for sure but I used Mozarella cheese which was ok for daily consumption. I got them in slices... wowowowo deli with cucumber. Give it a shot! |

Re: Working to be a Little Miss
Be careful with cheese my plan says to limit to 3 times per week and a clinic handbook (extra info) states that cheese can stop weight loss dead in its tracks...
While i love cheese i only have 2 serves per week plus one feta = 3

Re: Working to be a Little Miss
hi hexi! Yes, I think from now on, will control the cheese intake.
So today, I unintentionally deviated! Arrgh, so irritating. I had a cracker about an hour before lunch because I was feeling the munchies, and then for lunch I decided to have a chilled tofu salad that I had made the night before. Alas, I had forgotten that I had crushed 2 crackers into the salad! Oh well, moving on.. Breakfast: chilled stewed apple, boiled egg & 2 crackers Snack: annoying cracker Lunch: Tofu salad (chilled it the night before and the next day, it kinda had the texture of couscous! I didn't cook the tofu - wanted to try it raw) Played badminton quite vigorously... a mistake because I was starving when I got home. Snack 2: apple and Sprite zero to stem off the hunger pangs before dinner Dinner: baked chicken & yellow squash. Water: 2L plus Tomorrow there will be NO deviation, unintentionally or otherwise! |

Re: Working to be a Little Miss
Hi littlemiss,
I have just read your thread and especially the post about 'thunder thighs'. I am in that category and have not had a gap in my thighs since I was a child. I not only have huge thighs, legs, knees & ankles, but I have saddle bags as well. Think of horse riders that wear jodhpurs, and increase the size a lot. I have not worn jeans/pants since I was 20. Unfortunately my weight started ballooning after many years of fertiliity treatment 25 years ago and never went down again. After my second child I steadily put on weight and now she is 17 and I am large everywhere and huge from the waist down. I used to be a size 8 in the top and 14 - 16 in the bottom, now I'm lucky to be a 14 on top and maybe 26/28 on the bottom. I am about to turn 50 and decided I want to enjoy the rest of my life and not miss out on things because my weight is stopping me. I doubt my thighs will ever not touch, but like you I don't mind that, if I'm healthy and fit. If I ever can wera jeans again that will be an amazing bonus, but that's a long way down the road. Thank you for sharing your story. It has helped me .

Re: Working to be a Little Miss
wow missy, you're so lucky to be able to eat tofu! I didn't get tofu at all on my initial plan and guess that's a no no for me in future as well. Seems like I retain water BIG time with tofu... anyway, enjoy whatever you can! Does tofu make you kinda hungry easily?

emjay, you made my day reading your post! Thank you for writing those kind words. you are doing so well so far! I hope I've lost more than 2 kg - gotta weigh myself soon.
flamie, I am trying not to be paranoid and wonder whether tofu is not making me retain water. hahaha. it doesn't make me hungry after - eating those crackers do.. |

Re: Working to be a Little Miss
your feelings about your thighs is exactly how I feel about my arms. I think I have HUGE arms - the size of average lady's thighs! I NEVER EVER wear anything sleeveless. Now I still have larger arms but they are significantly smaller than in the past. I tell myself - what the heck! I am going to wear sleeveless. I did wore sleeveless a few times since then. Once you have completed cohen, you will notice the change in your new body and start to appreciate it more.
I have tofu in my plan but I never use it. Maybe I should try? Hmmm..

Re: Working to be a Little Miss
It's so embarrassing but I have to be honest on my diary. Otherwise what's the point of keeping track.
Yesterday, I discovered that I was eating pumpkin instead of yellow squash... Ok, ok, so here's the thing. I had to check online for the Indonesian word for yellow squash and I got 'labu kuning'. There's a woman who comes by the house to sell produce and I usually put in my order with her. When I asked for what I thought was yellow squash, it arrived in cut up pieces (they don't sell whole pieces). So I didn't think much about it, until I ordered it from a different person and this time they came up with slices.. Hmmm I thought.. that kinda looks like pumpkin. I asked my staff and she verified that NO, you CAN'T get yellow squash here and that YES I've been eating pumpkin for two days straight in two meals/day! Duh me, I forgot that labu is also another word for pumpkin. So that likely put me off some weight loss last couple of days. I'm not pleased with myself but the good thing is that I'm finally learning my vegetable ABCs?? GRrrrr... Now back on Cohen's 100% and I don't want to unintentionally deviate again! |

Re: Working to be a Little Miss
fornight - i've seen the pictures of your legs and i envy them! i can't wait to reach my goalweight and be prouder of my thighs.
BTW, just wanted to add that I *did* not deviate on the 22nd of Jan - only made the discovery of the shamed pumpkin/squash fiasco. Threw out my tofu & pretend squash salad out that very day. It was sad. So far, I haven't deviated on this 100% Cohens challenge that I've signed up on! |

Re: Working to be a Little Miss
Hi Littlemiss!
You have been doing a great job on Cohens to date! Unintentional deviations are known as oopsies here! And you have the right attitude to moving on from that! It sounds like doing the programme where you are in Indonesia can be somewhat challenging, and you are still doing it and overcoming those challenges! Well done! I like how you have such a winning attitude and especially liked your observation of Quote:
That is soooo true! I can so relate to your Thunder Thighs post. I have the same problem. This is my second time around on the programme, because I did not follow the maintenance guidelines to stay slim after I completed it the first time. I do have to say, noticing that my thighs were no longer touching was one of my highlight moments when I was doing the plan, and I'm verymuch looking forward to reaching that stage again this time! For me the weight on the bottom and thighs was the last to come away, it came from everywhere else first and only towards the end did it start to come from my problem areas. Enjoy your cohens journey and the process of your changing body! Vee |

Re: Working to be a Little Miss
I think women are never happy with their body parts.
Even though I am in maintenance, I am still not happy with my arms and stomach. Don't make me start with the size of my face!!!! I like FlaMie's waist - she has an hourglass figure!. In return, FlaMie likes my legs. So you see. Each one of us have something that another person will desperately want. I suspect you too have something I desperately want too!

Re: Working to be a Little Miss
Hi everyone!
Thanks for the comments so far,! Feels good to know that people are keeping check on how I’m doing. It’s also nice to find that there are fellow thigh comrades! ☺ Fornight, I take your point – but hey, you look BEAUTIFUL the way you are. I don’t notice the ‘flaws’ you mentioned! I still don’t know how much I weigh. I certainly hope I’ve lost more than 2 kg so far! However, I have good news to report – the trousers/shorts I bought during my ‘fatter’ phase are now officially too loose! I can’t wear them in public anymore because one shrug can pull them right off! I am also happy to fit back into my old US 8 MNG skirt. However, I still have ways to go before I’m officially a size 8 since the cut for this skirt is on the big side. It’s a thrill to fit nicely into my old clothes once more. I used to think that they had warped out of shape (hence I couldn’t fit into them) but sigh, I was delusional about gaining the weight that I had! From now on, I am going to monitor my weight because it’s so easy to put on say a couple of kg and not think about it, but then when it keeps on adding, and adding… it makes a huge (pun intended) difference! Yesterday I found massage olive oil in the supermarket and bought it out of curiosity. Massaging my thighs also keeps me in check about how much more weight I need to lose. Everyone seems to be commenting on the weight I’ve lost so far but I don’t want to be complacent about it. Funnily enough, what I’m currently struggling with is drinking up to 3 litres of water every day as per water challenge. Food, and hunger cravings are easier to manage than this! By the way, I read somewhere that sedentary people (that’s me!) shouldn’t drink too much water lest it would damage our kidneys? Any thoughts on this? The office lady has noticed me drinking lots of water every day at work and told me this morning that she’s started following my example to drink water. (She told me once that she doesn’t drink water at all – only milky drinks – she’s a twig by the way). And she says that she feels healthier, and “not so cold during the evenings”. Nice to hear that I am influencing people to be healthier! My staff has also taken to cycling to work today (as opposed to using a motorbike) because she was encouraged by the weight I’ve lost so far. I told her to also watch her diet and she said that it was non-negotiable because she loves food too much. Hah, that used to be me… So happy with my Cohen experience so far!! Now, if I can find out how much I currently weigh….. Deviations since I signed up for challenge = NONE. Water intake = struggling with 3 litres per day but achieving it. |

You have to love it when the clothes get too big! It is the best feeling!
Re the water, you might like to read the following thread http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=157564&highlight=water#post157564 If you do an advanced search with "water" in the title it brings up all the threads about water. Some are really interesting. Keep up the great work! Vee |

emjay - thanks for the encouraging comments!
vee - you're a star. that thread is exactly what i was looking for! thanks!! koh - thanks for writing in! However have to clarify that those 2 kg lost was BEFORE I started the programe (there was a lapse before I received my programme and when I started).. I suspect that I was already losing some inches before I officially got on the programme so it explains why my clothes are already so loose early on! |

Re: Working to be a Little Miss
Hey littlemiss!!
Seems like you're going well! Yay for that! I rarely drank water before and have kept up my 3L a day since starting... and I feel great. I used to get headaches (and migraines) a lot and now I rarely do, but if I am a bit slow on my water, I feel a headache coming on... Also, you don't have to drink 3L, the recommended requirement is 2-3L... so maybe you could cut it down to 2.5 and see how you feel? Judging by your weight and goal weight you must be kinda little () so maybe 2L is all you need. Hope your day is treating you well! xoxo Missy
