Oh Ellabelle!!
Big hugz for you!
As Mette says, don't beat yourself up. You made a mistake, so forgive yourself, learn the lesson and move on!
It's unfortunate it happened while on refeed, so its probably a good idea for you to restart the refeed again. I was just wondering about the bit where you have to be deviation free on the program for about 14 days before you start refeed?
Did you speak to your consultant and ask them what was the best thing to do?

I'm looking forward to meeting you on Sunday at the lunch!

Vee

Overnight mov/m +100gm
Current Weight 52.3kg

Changes 1 good fruit, bread, extra protein, extra old veg and extra crispbread

Not a lot to report... a 100g gain on the scales for day one, that's about all.

Thanks Mette & Vee for your kind words I really appreciate it.

Ellabelle, you are one of quite a lot to have a major deviation on refeed. I think that by refeed we're all mentally thinking we've finished, and it's more difficult to keep the diet mentality going.

I agree with Vee that you should talk with your consultant about what's happened, although logically I think that what you are doing sounds sensible.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Hope you are going ok, Ellabelle! Your posts sound a little flat and factual!
You've drawn your line and it's a new day! You can finish this without any further hitches!

Hugz

Thanks Vee

I do feel pretty flat. Partly because of Saturdays stuff up and partly because I have a couple of friends and my husband on my back who think I'm taking my weight loss too far...

I'm sure things will look up soon.

Appreciate your support

Hey...also wanted to say that u shouldn't think that they all trying to sabotage you. To them u look normal and also....most ppl's idea of healthy eating is to eat everything, but in moderation. So many don't understand Cohen's and i don't think they see it as sustainable.....and at the end of the day it's going to be up to you..us all..to prove that it can be. They probably don't understand the Refeed process either...so just indulge their complaints a little while longer. The End is almost near and when u get there...enjoy it all..in moderation

Day 3

Start Weight 52.2kg
Overnight movement -200gm
Overall movement 0g
Current Weight 52.2kg

Changes 1 good fruit, bread, extra protein, extra old veg and extra crispbread

Whoo hoo, dropped 200g overnight taking me back to my refeed starting weight of 52.2kg. Feeling a lot happier today about life in general.

The pineapple is delicious I'm so excited, I get two portions today ... yumm! Yesterday we got some lovely fresh bakery bread and I'm fast starting to appreciate the fluffy goodness of bread again (even if it is only a small portion that I'm allowed at this stage).

Refeed is officially fun! Well worth the wait

I'm looking forward to the weekend, I'm going to try a variation on french toast with pineapple, unfortunately starting work at 6am during the week doesn't allow for it.

Anyway, hope everyone has a good day! See you tomorrow

Tara - Thank you for your kind words

Fair rose za - You are right about ppl not understanding refeed and thinking we should be finished because we've lost the weight. Understand that my friends and family are just looking out for me. Thank you so much for the encouragement. I'm excited for you starting refeed so soon you've done so well!

Louise - You're right, ultimately WE do have to live with our decisions you guys are amazing on here, I'd be lost without you

Be selfish, Ellabelle. This is a process you need to finish off correctly. They can wait a couple more weeks for you to do it properly. Try to explain to them that this bit's important, you are not trying to lose more weight but if you don't increase the calories gradually but immediately go back to normal eating your body will grab everything it can and quickly add fat back on. Google refeed after low calorie diet and refeed after starvation for some facts.

Day 4

Start Weight 52.2kg
Overnight movement -100gm
Overall movement -100g
Current Weight 52.1kg

Changes 2 good fruit, bread, extra protein, extra old veg and extra crispbread

Yesterday was good, felt like I was eating all day! Having two serves of pineapple was great but my tongue has hurting by the end of it - ouch!

Today is looking much the same as yesterday foodwise - off to grocery shop this afternoon to get all of my supplies for next week, wow there is a lot to get! I'm going to go through over 3kg of vegies in a week - think I'll turn into one after that hehe.

So glad it's Friday, this week has been rather... "challenging"

Hope everyone has a great day!

AJ - Wow! Thanks for the info! That is most helpful, I'll definitely take the time to explain it to them now.

Vee - I've just found out my hubby had made plans with friends for Sunday lunch which means I wont be able to come, so disappointed. Hopefully next time!

Awww, what a pity about Sunday.... was looking forward to meeting you!

Have a fabulous weekend!

So glad you're feeling better Ellabelle It sounds as though your body is well and truly back in the swing of refeed too! mMMmmm... pineapple!

I've also been having everyone under the sun telling me I need to stop losing weight and I'm "skinny enough". I think the girls are right though, it's just hard for people to understand what they're doing when they don't understand all of it. I think sometimes the strictness and portion control of Cohen's scares some people also, and our ZERO deviation mentality. It's made a lot of people in my life think I'm being too "obsessive" (ie. because I won't have just one mouthful of something or one sip of something). I'm sure once you are on maintenance and just humming along with a healthy diet which doesn't need to be as "obsessive" they will all hush They'll also get more used to seeing you at this weight... which for some people is an adjustment too I think. It must be exciting to be so close!!! I hope the remaining days are really enjoyable for you

Ellabelle, it sounds like things are going well for you again, Im so pleased. As Aj mentioned be a bit selfish, at the end of the day you are in control of your weight and dont let others stop you from finishing what you started!

Day 5

Start Weight 52.2kg
Overnight movement -200gm
Overall movement -300g
Current Weight 51.9kg

Changes 2 good fruit, bread, extra protein, extra old veg and extra crispbread

A pleasant surprise on the scales this morning, managed to drop 200g overnight. I've found having a couple of glasses of water after dinner and getting a good nights sleep realllly help the weight loss the next day.

I slipped up yesterday and had 4 choc chip biscuits... I did some baking because we were having friends over last night and ate them just about straight out of the oven. Felt really guilty afterward, but then realised there was nothing I could do about it, what was done, was done. Before Cohen's I would have said "screw it, I've already had 4 - might as well eat them all now" I know I shouldn't have done it, and I've decided that I can't do any more baking for a while. Hrmm...

Vee - Thank you! Hope you have a good weekend too

Lulabelle - I think you are so on the mark there, guess we would look a little OCD to anyone who hasn't read the program in detail

Louise - Thank you for the encouragement

Chocolate biscuits and still losing weight, isnt that interesting! I know what you mean about the baking, its so hard to resist! My boyfriend was really begging me to make him pancakes last night but I refused for that reason, but made him something with banana that I dont find nearly so tempting!

Hi Ellabelle

Just catching up with how ya going. I can really relate with how you are feeling during refeed. It's so close to the end, but still you have to weigh etc etc. Hang in there it's nearly over. Goes by amazingly fast espec towards the end.

Tell your family that this is as important to you as the whole diet was. Won't be long and you will be able to join in normal social functions. Good idea going back and restarting refeed. It may drag it out that much longer but already you are well under your starting weight.

Keep steaming ahead. Shall pop in daily ( I hope)

Katie
