Hiya Wendy,

There are quite a few posts somewhere about hair, I remember having the discussion AGES ago...

At least I think there were... I'm so tired tonight I may be hallucinating...

Anyway, yeah, my hair not only got brittle, but lots of it fell out. It got REALLY thin. I'm happy to report, though, that, 6 months later, it's almost back to 'normal'.

I used the Neways ones while I was on the programme too. Actually, I still take them now.

Hi Wendy,

Before I started Cohens my hair was less than wonderful till I asked my beautician about what I could do. Her suggestion was......

(And I know it will sound pretty disgusting but it works)....

Mix 1 whole egg and 1 tablespoon of olive oil together. Smear this on your hair, wrap in cling wrap and cover with a towel for an hour. Then wash it out. Make sure the water isnt too hot otherwise you might end up with breakfast in your hair.

Like I said, I know it sounds disgusting but (after procrastinating for months) I finally tried it and then did it once a week after that - what a difference!! The protein in the egg nourishes the hair and the olive oil gives it shine and body!

Just a thought anyway if you can stomach it!!

OK, well this explains a lot then LOL.. My hair seems to have gone extra weird over night. I have long thick fairly coarse hair normally, but all of a sudden it seems extra ick!!!!

Thanks for sharing that Nat, I think I'll give that a go this weekend

Default Hair Loss

Hello

Just wondering if anyone had experienced hair loss.
My hair is not coming out in patches but when i brush my hair the hair brush is full, even my hairdresser commented on the amount of hair falling out

HELP PLEASE!!!

I did email my clinic before christmas but the answer i received was that she had heard of this happening before but did not know how to fix it and Sharon was in Bali and would get back to me with an answer...If i was holding my breathe i would be dead!!

I give up on my clinic been on Cohens now for nearly 6 months and i have not heard from them once.

Hi Chezza... I too have a rather significant amount of hair come out every time I brush or shower... HEAPS!! For most of the last 9months! I have been taking Equisetum tablets to help offset this and I think it has helped a little bit... it has slowed... but hasnt stopped. I talked to my hairdresser and she wasnt too worried... cos my hair was in good condition otherwise and with the research that I have done... I knew that once I restarted on more proteins and a bit more fat in my diet that it would begin to correct itself. You could start a Hair and nails formula tablet or the equisetum tablets (which is silica)... these might help til you finish... dont panic... its not permanent.

I would seriously be considering complaining to them officially if you have had no contact from them. I dont get a huge amount of contact from mine... but I at least she answers my emails and calls even if it takes a few days and she will call me if she hasnt heard from me in a few weeks/months.

Blessya

Hi Chezza

I've been having similar problems, handfuls of hair come out at one time. I'm very lucky that I have a LOT of hair & it's very thick so it's not so noticeable.
I spoke to my consultant & she said to take extra Iron & zinc on top of your multi vitamin & that should help. Also (I think) I read someone else on here recommend fish oil tablets to help as well.

I would complain to your consultant too. You're paying good money for their help, support & advice. Without them it makes it very hard to do this program 100%. Don't be afraid to speak up.

HUGS

Default Is Your Hair Falling Out Too??

Hi Everyone!

I've noticed over the last 3 weeks or so, my hair is falling out BIG time! It's everywhere! The drain is always clogged when I wash my hair & when I brush it each day, it's coming out in hand fulls!

Anyone else have or had this problem & does it improve? When does it start growing back?? ( or doesn't it?? )

Cya from me

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Hey Drexyl,

In the beginning of the program, I found that my hair was so healthy and shiny and thick that I was amazed.

Well this didnt last long......

Its now falling out like you describe and thinning. But the funny thing that I have found is that while some of it is falling out, the rest that is anchored well is growing really fast - faster than normal. Weird huh?

My hairdresser told me that my hair is falling out because we are only eating enough fats and proteins to sustain our bodies and all those non essential things like hair, skin and nails are taking a back seat and not getting as much nutrition as they need. I found that after I had deviated in the past, my hair would stop falling out for a few days so I would say that gives credit to what she said.

What I have found to be fantastic is to do a homemade oil and protein treatment once a week and in between use a volumising shampoo. This wont stop it falling out but what is left will look fuller and healthier.

I use Revlon Flex volumising shampoo and I find it fantastic because it actually works!

You could also start taking Blackmoores Hair, Skin and Nails formula which works for some people - but unfortunately didnt do a thing for me.

Hope this helps,

Nat

Thanx Guys!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one! As long as I don't end up bald as a badger I'll be fine!

That's true as since I've been 100% DF is when I noticed the hair loss, not before! Hmmmmm.....

Thanx again from me xo
