Hi all,

I don't get in until 1.30 and need to check in at the medina. Drexyl has offered to pick me up if necessary, or if someone can help me with directions I can just come to where you guys are as soon as I get in. How long do your meets usually last?

Usually goes for an hour or 2 or longer if people don't have commitments elsewhere?
Might be a bit late for lunch, perhaps an afternoon tea or early dinner?
What does everyone think?

I think 4pm @ Get Hooked at Bulimba. That way if people want to stay for afternoon tea, or dinner, or whatever, it is a good time. Does that suit?

I was hoping to get to this but unfortunately 4pm doesn't work for me next Sunday. I could get there for lunch but anyway ... c'est la vie. But out of interest I went to Get Hooked yesterday. There is a new chef who knew nothing about the skinny minnie menu and managed to make a complete hash of prawns and salad. I suggested he familiarise himself before next weekend as there was going to be a few of you turning up!
Maybe take your scales with you too! My prawns weren't clean, and had shells on which made them messy to eat. The salad didn't have the promised dressing and I suspect the weights were incorrect. The prawns were the most tasteless I have ever had. Sad really as I was really looking forward to a non home prepared meal. But let's face it - it is all about the company. Have fun!

Going to be out of Brissy this wekend. Hubby has a V8 supercar drive that I got him for his birthday. Only weekend they can do before it expires...sooooooorrrrrryyyyyyyy. So wanted to come.

Interesting Vee and I had a disappointing experience when we went there a few weeks ago. The veges they served were totally not Cohens except for a few strands of red onion. They had included broccoli, snow peas, baby corn and something else I can't remember.

We had to send ours back as it was just not Cohens.

Be careful. maybe someone in Brissie need sot ring and speak with owner. has it changed hands?

Yes apparently it has. I was there with my family and a friend who literally lives across the road in the apartments there and he said it had recently been sold and not only was there a new owner but a new chef. About two months ago apparently. I would definitely give them a ring first, although I did warn them that you would all be coming!
By the way take a peek at my diary if you have a mo. A big milestone for me today - yee haa!

I rang this afternoon and spoke with an english lady??? I asked her if Get Hooked had new owners. She told me they didnt and seemed quite puzzled?? I told her of other Cohenites recent experiences there. She told me they got a new chef recently who had no knowledge of the Cohens program, but they had an old chef come back who does know the program, and he works weekends. She assured that if we were to give out weights and even specify particular vegies, that they would certainly cater to our needs. This got me thinking...........

Only Melissa is actually "on program" from the people that are coming, and if we meet at 4pm for coffee, then we wont necessarily be around for dinner as she is from the north coast. Vee, Michele & I are from the southside, so wonder if it would be as convenient to go to Garden City & meet up at Toscani's for coffee?? Just a thought..........
