Hi Lb, yep, No. 3 is schedule more think time - maybe when I'm sleeping....soooo tired, going to sleep when I sit for more than 5 minutes....keeping up the water though (YAY) and did heaps of walking and carrying (went into the city on the train, bought stuff, then had to cart it around with me BIG MISTAKE - it was weight bearing exercise at least....my arms felt like chewing gum in the end...trying to run for the train and all I could manage was a very slow jog - got the train though )

Well done Mumandnana! I have not been able to do any exercise as my asthma is quite bad right now - 4 trips to doctor in the last few weeks and off for a blood test today.
Might change my DO cember to "visit doctor to get asthma treated"'

I am thinking of cutting my strawberries in 1/2 because 2 out of 3 isn't all bad
I have managed to squeeze in a couple of Do's that aren't on my DO - cember list as such, but have been on "my LIST" for a long time!!

I've been to the golf driving range and "wacked" off a bucket of balls to check the pain threashold. Arthritis in thumbs of both hands is really painful and debilitating (can't open things, hurts to play the guitar which has me as it is something I love to do, and my whole thumbs constantly throb).
Well the technique wasn't pretty and the pain - even wearing thumb restraints HURT. it isn't the pain of connecting with the ball - which I managed from time to time, but the actual process of lifting and supporting the club through the backswing.
The club pro has offered to work with me and see if we can come up with a hockey style which at least has me moving the ball forward (necessary in golf I believe) and see what pain I get then.

WHY GOLF.......well we live on a golf course!! It's a little like living at the beach and not swimming!!
HEY MUMMA - I walked past the gym at the club to get to the driving range....does that count?? and I only had to walk 300 metres to get to the club (shame shame shame).

My other unlisted "do" is to finish a painting I have been working on which is a bit of a work in progress. It is still in progress but is coming along. An empowering piece.

Oh Jlou ! that is rough. Asthma is terrible and it seems more and more common nowadays. You will just have to have a real strawberry in consolationDid you keep to your goal of getting enough sleep ?

Hi Ladybird, Quote " HEY MUMMA - I walked past the gym at the club to get to the driving range....does that count?? and I only had to walk 300 metres to get to the club (shame shame shame)" NOPE !! I forgot about your poor thumbs Hopefully the gulf man can help you. Did you get all your water ? What could you do at the gym that doesn't hurt your thumbs ? Weights are no good, what about the rowing machine? Can you grip the handle without using your thumbs Running on the treadmill might jolt them or cause too much blood flow to them making them throb ? Chin ups are out. Climbing is out. Does swimming hurt ? If this is all no good maybe double the distance you walk your dog ? What about pilates class ? We will allow you to alter your Do-cember list to enable you to earn the strawberries if you would like.XXX

Speaking of arthritis, mumandnana I saw your post about cinnamon so I suggested it to my dad as he has arthritis in one thumb and developing in the other now. LB - it appears to be helping so give it a try?

I have to look over my goals again because I have been focussing a bit on the asthma but yes - last night I had an early night so yay for me!

Ah Mummy you are a gem. Thankyou for trying to make me feel better
Trouble is I feel I could probably do everything at the gym(shame shame shame). Not dancing or stuff like that as I would feel totally unco and stoopid - especially as the gym is empty most days!!
Some things I modify - like riding my bike on the road etc. I don't wrap my fingers around the handlebars - rather I rest my fists on top. NOT recommended if needing to brake suddenly and, touch wood, I haven't gone ar** over tit yet!! I even take the dog lead in my left hand and she pulls me along.

Jlou I'll try your suggestion - I've tried everything else (but I refuse to take Voltaren).
I'm drinking all my water and reading my "power to me" messages.

I have achieved 1/2 a strawberry. I'm working on the power to me message cards to ensure a change behaviours (a work in progress). I still have a couple of days to get the said 2 x gym visits in so I may claim a whole strawberry very soon.

Ok because of the asthma I cannot currently (on doctors orders) do any exercise so I need to change my goals.

DO a carb reset after carb ingestion - this is to ensure I do not let things blow out.
DO only eat starchy carbs when eating out and food cannot be controlled.
DO organize a regular cleaner to make life a little easier.....
I still want to do the visualization board/book but need to make time for that in CAN uary....
