It's surprising how much we lose overnight, Rocks. A toilet visit will usually release 250-400 gms so the rest is converted energy and some fluid loss through breathing and through the skin.

Seems the majority have problems with bread.

If you want to mix proteins a bit more, adding meat to a cheese meal or shellfish to a meat meal are easy ways of doing it.

DAY 7 - 63.6kg
Overnight Movement: -0.1kg
Lowest weight: 63.6kg
Start weight: 64.3kg

Well day 7 sees me back at my lowest refeed weight to date, today not only saw an increase in old protien, but also 2 slices of bread (the first sandwich i have had in 6 months, the joy nearly bought a tear to my eye). So i am sure its not the bread causing me tummy cramping grief, i think i have nailed it down to BM non-movement so i will move my ass to the chemist tomorrow to assist with this.

Lunch today was the first 2nd or 3rd meal i have had on refeed where i didn't feel pushed to eat it all, actually i think i could eaten more.

I'm excited about tomorrow i get to add a bad fruit and even more old veg.

AJ, i plan on adding some meat to a cheese meal very shortly, tomorrow i'm allowed to mix protiens so i have decided to start with reef and beef and move to the cheese and chicken on day 8. Did your refeed program mention you should mix between the meat, chicken and fish?

Well gotta run, i'm going to see bloc party tonight, can't wait.

Hi Rocks congrats you are doing really well in re-feed. You can have surf and turf mixing proteins. I did it and there were no adverse effects from doing it.

In my re-feed programme it says re protein mixing "you should mix between fish, chicken and meat on your program substitute one with the other or have a mixture of these in one meal."

Good luck with the rest of the journey.

Rocks, I don't remember that my refeed specified that, but I tried to vary the foods I ate, and the combinations, as much as possible. I suspect that I ate a wider variety of the new vegetables than most. I tried to eat them all, but couldn't find any okra. Such a strange selection of vegetables. I wonder if we all get the same list.

DAY 8 - 63.4kg
Overnight Movement: -0.2kg
Lowest weight: 63.4kg
Start weight: 64.3kg

Day 8 sees me rolling into a new cohens lowest weight , must have been all the walking and jumping around i did in freo yesterday and at bloc party last night (awesome, can't even put it in words). Today i have another busy day but will try make it to the clinic to pick up some maintainence guidlines as i will be back at work when i finish refeed and go in for laser eye surgery on wednesday (how worried am i getting right now) so things are busy to say the least.

Today sees the addition of the "bad" fruit (gloomy i know but such a species does exist), BRING ON THE BANANNA. It is also protien mixing day and will also be the first day i have cheese (not mixing with this yet) on refeed.

Thanks to those that have dropped by with your kind words of support, this forum is so fantastic like that and it is good to have support from people who are actually going through what you are at the same time or have walked in the boots already. You are all great and have come so far.

Well done on the new low Rocks! Sounds like you had an awesome weekend.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your banana! And half way through refeed already! I would say you rock, but that would sound a bit corny, lol.

Just a quick update on my loss for the week. 900g gone forever. Not as much as some but a loss is a loss and it's more than I've been losing recently so I'm pretty happy. It also puts me into normal BMI! I'm no longer overweight

Keep doing what you're doing Rocks, it's working well for you. You're going great guns.

Louise

DAY 9 - 63.6kg
Overnight Movement: 0.2kg
Lowest weight: 63.4kg
Start weight: 64.3kg

i have hit the half way mark and all is going well, 200g up on the scales today so body seems to be coming back to the 63 and a half somewhere range. Bought some really tasty small bannannas from the freo markets the other day and had one on toast yesterday and this morning for morning tea. I am so lucky that i don't get the sugar spike hunger pains like so many do with the bad fruit. Yesterday was also the start of protien mixing, i have planned my meals everyday till the end now so that i mix some protien within one meal each day (not that i really like it).

Tomorrow i have corrective laser eye surgery, its starting to worry a bit so i think i might head off to the shops to take my mind off it.

Louise, its so good to hear from you and you should feel really proud of that 900g. Refeed pops up on you so quickly and you girl are so close so start preparing with some belly stretches to make room for the extra food.

I must also congratulate those in refeed land that have left us now or will be very shortly. Good on you's

DAY 10 - 63.6kg
Overnight Movement: 0.0kg
Lowest weight: 63.4kg
Start weight: 64.3kg

No movement on the scales over night, didn't sleep very well so i was very happy to see that. Thanks Ceb and Shell for the support, i am hoping that the surgery doesn't effect my appetite, sometimes its hard enough getting through all this food.

So today is my last day on refeed where i can add "good" fruit, i will miss the pineapple for the next week which isn't too long when you look at it. With the addition of 2 "bad" fruits also comes milk, i am very much looking forward to a cup of milky tea, the black coffee never phased me but i miss the tea with milk. I will also be mixing some chicken and cheese for lunch today (yummo).

As i work away and will finish my refeed whilst up at work i saw my consultant the other day to pick up the maintainence guidlines. Well, no bible as i was expecting, it is full of tips ect and good eating habits, i am very happy i got this before i finished so i wasn't out in the cold cause there are some really important points in it to counteract carbs, sugars ect.

Thats it for the day

Hey Rocks

You seem to be doing really well! I'm envious of the weight losses you've been able to maintain on refeed. My weight was doing the macarena for a bit but thankfully I ended where I started!

I think there are many pearls of weight maintenance wisdom in those maintenance guidelines. I am going to go read them carefully now!

DAY 11 - 64kg
Overnight Movement: 0.4kg
Lowest weight: 63.4kg
Start weight: 64.3kg

So the rollercoaster started up this morning when i jumped on the scales and it is a 400g gain, i repeat a 400g gain. I know this must be a combination of stress, too much sleep (thats all i did yesterday) and an absence of BM for 48 hours now. Today i'm going to cut back to 1 peice of toast, enjoy my tea with milk and add a small amount of new protien to dinner. Back at work tomorrow, hopefully it will be busy and hot so i can sweat off some more kg's, i would like to finish at 63kg, this was the upper end of my cohens goal range.

The eye surgery went well i think, i will find out this afternoon whether or not i have 20/20 vision when these covers get taken off my eyes (sticky tape is sooooooo itchy). Lindy, Kimmy and Francesca thankyou so much for dropping by, once again congrats on finishing (i hope you celebrated with a glass of wine) or congrats on the impending finish. Maintainence here we come hey.

DAY 12 - 63.6kg
Overnight Movement: -0.4kg
Lowest weight: 63.4kg
Start weight: 64.3kg

So the 400g gain came off over night, happy to see that but am still feeling pretty backed up so i am hoping even more that this will drop tomorrow. Last night i had a beef and lamb stirfry, a very easy way to add such a small amount of new protien. I am looking foward to the bigger qauntities so as i can have some of the salmon i have bought up to work. No bad side effects from the milky tea either, yey.

Well i've only been back up here for a couple of hours and its been non-stop already. My eyes are stingy still, just a little bit though and the other good doctor (my eye surgeon) gave me the all clear on excellent vision, well worth the money.

Bread was taken out of the plan yesterday and replaced with crispbread, this arvo i may have 1 piece again to see if this is the culprit, i hope it isn't cause i really enjoyed those couple of days with bannanna on toast and cheese on toast on wednesday (after eye surgery treat). Thats enough dribble hey.

Great news that your eye surgery went so well Rocks! I'm sure it won't be too long before you lose the slight sting you still have and brilliant to have excellent vision now!

You're still doing well with refeed too so it's all coming together nicely for you, just in time for Christmas! What a great gift you've given yourself. Well done.

DAY 13 - 63.6kg
Overnight Movement: 0kg
Lowest weight: 63.4kg
Start weight: 64.3kg

Day 13 - CARB DAY, i should have gone the popcorn, i know i should of but i don't know if i could have stopped, so i have gone the potato (boring). Along with this is a mini mount everest of salad which is appearing in every meal, not long before i wilt into a lettuce leaf i think.

So all is going well, no scale movement this morning, very very very happy with this. After today i will have only 4 days left in the "controlled world", then its me for myself. I can't wait.

Louise, thanks for stopping by, i can't seem to find your diary to see how you've been going you will have to sling me a thread link. The eyes are great, technology is fantastic and doctors get to look like miracle workers, it is nothing short of this, being able to see clearly without glasses is true freedom for me.

Hi Rocks

Lol, I love your analogy of the amount of salad you get to eat! Do you also get an increase in spices and things like mayonnaise with the increase of food? I can't imagine 1tsp of mayo being enough for a large coleslaw!

To answer your question, I don't have a diary and that's why you can't find it. I was going to start one so many times but spent so much time reading others diaries that I found I didn't have enough time to do my own. Then, when I was catching up with all the reading I felt like I didn't have that far to go before I would be finished and "what's the point of starting one now?" Little did I know I would be "integrating" for so long! Now, I'm just procrastinating and being indecisive about starting one, wondering if it's worth it at this stage. Then again, you started yours with only a few kg's to go and it's been most interesting reading and helped many I'm sure ...... mmm, what to do! Lol

I just wanted to add that I think it's amazing that you can eat so much more food on refeed and not put on heaps of weight! If you'd done that during the losing phase you would have stalled your weight or put on but when the body is ready for more food it's not a problem! Don't you just love Dr Cohen?!

Louise

DAY 14 - 63.4kg
Overnight Movement: -0.2kg
Lowest weight: 63.4kg
Start weight: 64.3kg

Drop of 200g overnight saw me back down to my lowest weight on cohens. Today i add some butter on toast, it will be interesting to see what it tastes like again after 6 months without it, from what most have commented on its not really the same.

So it looks like its just me left in refeed at the moment, i'm sure many are on their way very shortly.

Louise, the spices and mayo ect don't increase as well as a couple of the protien groups, you'll find this all out very shortly. Its never too late to start a diary, its what helped me get through that last little bit when jumping off the wagon would have been so much easier.
