Default Jo's Diary

hi everyone,

today i had my first outing where i couldn't control what i ate....

there was chicken or beef both served on a mash potato bed with wilted spinach, beans and salad. Unfortunately both the chicken and the beef were covered in some sort of sauce.

I got given the chicken (breast) so I took a guess at how much I should eat, and same with the spinach and salad. I used my "fullness register" as a guide, but I think i may have eaten slightly more than I should have.

Very easily said no to the sticky date pudding offerred for desert (gosh it looked good!)

Weight loss is almost at 11kg, and I'm midway through week 7. I'm half way there!

HI everyone,

well, I'm mid way through week 8 and I'm just shy of 12kg weight loss. excellent achievement I think

All my clothes don't fit anymore, but i continue to wear them simply because i don't want to buy more clothes....afterall I'm only just past half way. I have an old belt, but it doesn't quite fit me yet, so I'm tying my pants up with a scarf!

I am getting heaps of comments now from people that i know so the loss is now quite noticeable. I can see my face has thinned considerably, as have my hips, thights and bottom. I suspect that they're thinning more than my stomach because they were carrying more fat than the rest of my body.

I'm hoping I see some reduction in my tummy soon though.

I'm really looking forward to finishing so I can get to the gym and do some pump classes to tone myself up. I wish i could go now as I have heaps more energy now, but...no exercise..

well, I'm really annoyed this morning.

Today is official weigh in day for me so I jumped on my scales and they haven't moved! I'm stuck on 67...that's a piddly 4kg loss in a whole month!

i know how you feel, my last weigh in was a 4kg loss as well..... however i was a very naughty girl and snuck little bites of non cohen's foods/amounts here and there.

However if you have been good, remember a loss is a loss, and that's 4kg you will never have to see again!!

only because i expected more. i guess i figured that as I'd had a 7kg loss in the first month the second month will be similar.

I've only really got 11 more kilos to go but if each month is going to be just 4kg then that's almost another 3 months! Just seems so long.

I know I shouldn't complain, a loss is a loss...and i should be grateful for that!

Hi everyone,

I jumped on the scales this morning and I've finally moved past 66kg...i've been bouncing around the 66kg mark for almost 2 weeks now, and it had become very frustrating.

I went to my sisters place on the weekend and complained about not having any clothes that fit me anymore, so we held an impromptu fashion parade, with me parading all my sisters clothes (that are now too small for her!)...everyone was just stunned at how much weight i have lost (i am very conservative when i dress so no-one can really tell the amount of loss i've had).

Anyway, today i'm wearing a size 12 jeans, and a size 10 top....unreal!

I've got 8kg to go till i hit the bottom of the cohen range...not quite sure when i'll be ordering refeed....i'm concerned that if i order refeed at 62kg, which is what the clinic suggests, that i won't lose anymore weight and be stuck there...

does anyone have any thoughts on that?

Jo,

I was told that when you've finished losing weight you'll start waking up in the morning REALLY hungry. Like looking for a horse to eat-hungry...

I am under the impression that I need to wait for that hunger to kick in before starting refeed.

That's the point at which my body's reached metabolic equilibrium, and that's the point at which I won't lose any more weight (as the fat's been 'eaten' up).

So, I'm not sure how much my 'end weight' will be. When I get there my body will tell me. I'm not sure I'd worry about not getting to the bottom of the weight limit for you if you follow that theory. Talk to your clinic about this and let us know what they say

Over easter I deviated twice.

On easter sunday I had a small slice of ricotta baked cheesecake for desert...didin't finish it all, but added 600grams back to my weight.

Last night I had some kinder surprise chocolate...but I ate it immediately after dinner hoping that it wouldn't bump up my insulin levels too high...and this morning that 600grams was gone, plus a bit extra.

I am interested in Peter 14.7's comments in his diary about not having crackers with meals....does anyone else have any opinions on that? I always have my crackers with my meals and was wondering if that could be contributing to my slower weight loss...

Jo, I too always have my crackers at meal times, especially if I'm having a cheese or egg dish. I find I don't need anything between breaky and lunch and as I am oonly on 2 peices of fruit daily I like to save that for the drive home and 'supper', so this is how it has suited me. Basically I'm not hungry between meals (well, I haven't been except for the odd 'pang' recently) so would rather feel content at meals than trying to fit in crackers between meals. Besides, I can't always guarantee a morning tea break as such at work so it just would be too hard to keep track of.

I have crackers both with meals and as snacks. I can go breakfast to lunch without a snack. 2 crackers with lunch, a piece of fruit 2 hours after that, 2 more crackers about 2.5 hours before dinner, 2 crackers with dinner, and the last piece of fruit about 2 hours after dinner.

My husband has been looking at me over the last week and just chuckling to himself, and every time I asked him why he'd say how thin I was looking...but I couldn't see it!

Last night I was standing in front of the mirror in my birthday suit, and FINALLY I could see it...I look so different now compared to 11 weeks ago...it was a really uplifting moment for me.

Yeah, I know what you mean.

I can't believe I look as thin as people say I do...

I saw someone on telly yesterday and said "I'll be that thin soon, hopefully", and Andy said "Um, you're already MUCH thinner than that".

Blew me away. I couldn't believe it, I thought he was joking.

I had a good look in the mirror last night, and I think he might be right.

IT's fantastic, isn't it Jo!?

Hey Jo
Well done on your loss so far.

I have the same problem looking at myself and not really seeing much difference. I know that I am different as my clothes are smaller but looking in the mirror I can't REALLY see it. My hubby calls me violet. (His shrinking violet)

Gosh the time has flown since I last posted.

I am now 62kgs and my consultant has said that I can order my refeed now...but I'm going to wait till I get closer to the lower range of my target (57kg).

I'm in a size 10 now in most clothes and have managed to fit in to some old clothes I had stored away (waiting to give to charity).

I am getting so many comments from people that don't see me too often - it's great!

The end is so close now...can't wait to be finished.

Roy thinks it's terrific...but I have a new problem now in that he won't keep his bloody hands off me!

I will be posting some photo's once I'm completely done. I have some before photos done in a bra and undies, but I'm trying to locate some "clothed" before photos.

I am now 61kg!!
