Aha! That's better, I often don't get things right the first time. Same as weight loss. To think I've lost so much weight in the past and just put it all back on again, what a waste of effort.

I have set aside the next 6 months to lose this weight and get to refeed. Naturally I'll still go to work and do everything else that needs doing but I have a clear period of time with no major trips planned, travelling always sees me wanting to try new food! Plus it's harder to stick to an eating plan when you're out of your own environment. So I'm staying home and losing weight. Refeed then maintenance those are my goals.

Clearly, you're someone who thinks just like me, LouLou. I decided that I didn't want to travel anywhere while I was on the diet, and that I wanted as little disruption as possible.

You can also use the Quote button top right on the message to include all of the message in the quote, or remove the bits you don't want.

What a beautiful day it was today, the headaches have gone and I had enough energy to do some gardening. I'm growing my own veggies and thinking of starting a thread for anyone who's doing the same. Just can't eat the eggplant and sweet potato that I planted before I found out about Cohens, still there's always refeed.

Planted some zucchini and yellow squash today and the lettuces and herbs are going well, I'l just have to eat the capsicum green. I've never grown cauliflowers before and something seems to be eating them. That's the most frustrating thing about growing veggies organically, the bugs eat them. I'm also giving garlic a go and I grow the best tomatoes from my compost...someone might say "incomplete composting techniques " but I kind of like the little surprises that crop up from time to time.

as you can tell I'm feeling a lot better. Four days in and I'm not as hungry, the only thing I've had trouble with over the weekend is drinking enough water, on a work day it's easy but at home I tend to forget.

All is well, all is well and all shall be well.

lol

I was at a seminar yesterday, LouLou, and one woman's phone played a reminder every hour (only twice while we were there) to remind her to drink a glass of water

If you are still feeling some hunger you will find that also improves in time.

I'm no gardener, but I know that those cabbage moths are deadly on any members of that family. How about covering the caulis with some sort of fine netting?

What a beautiful day, I'm sitting outside with the lap top waiting for a friend to arrive who'll have dinner with me and the Hubby and stay the night. I've got the night off because of the Budget. Tonight will be the first time I tell someone, other than the Hubby and all of you of course, that I'm doing Cohen's. She has a weight problem as well and we've seen each other struggle through the years with our eating and our weight. Don't know how she'll respond but I've got some brochures if she's interested.

The hunger is slipping away, the headaches for the most part have gone and tomorrow I get to weigh myself. I've decided to weigh once a week and see how that goes. I can't believe how small the meals are on Cohen's, no wonder I'm overweight, I was eating healthy food, well except for the sugar binges, but I was eating at least 5 times as much as I'm eating now.

Week one in almost over, bring on week two. I had my first moment of deviation thought either yesterday or today, it took me by surprise, then I realised it was just an old habit and let it go. If I linger with a thought then often it becomes an action, best just to let it float through my head and drift away.

x

Hi Loulou,

Good on you for not deviating. I hope you find those temptations easier to ignore as time goes on.

There is no doubt if you don't deviate the easier this diet is.

The meals do seem small initially but you will find that after awhile they will datisfy you.

I'm on refeed at the moment and the amount of food now seems so much. I'm sure by the time i've finished I will be eating more food than I did before. However this time it is the right type of food.

I hope you get a nice surprise with your first weigh in.

Cheers

Tuti

Oops, I got a bit overexcited about my weigh in day, it's not till tomorrow! I think it's because I did a couple of days of the pre-Cohen's routine so I think I've been on the program for longer than I have been.

Lat night was interesting having my friend over for dinner. I made pesto from my home grown organic pesto but I couldn't taste it to see if it was OK. And I baked some of the eggplant and sweet potato I've grown, also organically, and other veggies and then tossed them in the pesto. So the Hubby and my friend had huge plates of food with the veggies and a quiche (which i bought, I wasn't going to put myself through too much!) and I had this tiny Cohen's meal. if I was hoping to get my friend to join me on Cohen's then I don't think I succeeded, apparently what they ate was delicious and they ate it all, at least 5 times what I ate.

However the proof is in the weight loss and I'm here because people I know have lost a lot of weight on Cohen's. If she sees me losing the weight than that's more incentive than anything else.

So Day 7 tomorrow and weigh in. Now I'm going to the beach for a gentle walk and a splash in the water. That's what I love about working afternoons/evenings, I have the mornings to go to the beach, do some gardening and catch up with you all on the forum.

Love

Loulou

Good luck for tomorrow then, LouLou.

I find not being able to taste food a difficulty. However, 'tasting' food I was cooking was definitely a reason I'm here now. I also find it difficult to cook things that I like to 'taste', although I'm getting better I'm now amazed at how much other people eat, and I used to be able to eat more than most.

Would you have wanted to go on the diet if the situations were reversed and your friend was on it and you visited? Everyone has to get to the point themselves where they really want to lose weight regardless of what they will be giving up to do so.

HOORAY! I HAVE LOST 4 KILOS IN A WEEK!

I was hoping for 2 to 3kilos and had to weigh myself three times just to make sure. Every time they said the same thing 84 kg exactly.

Just a quick post today because I have to go into work early, a long but happy day today at the coal face.

Now to change my ticker.

Thank you everyone for your love and support.

Great result LouLou. I bet you are feeling on top of the world.

There should be a way we can bottle that feeling for when we need it the most.

Keep up the great work!

WEEK 2, day 2

I feel kind of sad today, out of place, like I just want to disappear. It's hard to be in the world without any crutches. Walking on my own two feet and feeling dizzy. It's going to take some time to feel safe again. I'm going to start rambling in a moment but I know this is part of the process. we have a big celebration at work next week, we've moved into a brand new building and it's all very flash but I find it sterile and uninviting, it doesn't feel like home. I work different hours to everybody else there swhich I usually enjoy but at the moment it's making me feel even more alienated.

So this big celebration next week involves the grand opening and lunch, easily dealt with, and then dinner at a very swanky restaurant that night. I told the boss I didn't want to go to the dinner, that the lunch was enough and I'd rather work but she was so disappointed I changed my mind. I told her I was on a very special diet and was concerned about the food. She's put in a special request for me to the restaurant but that makes me feel even more separate from everyone else. Today I just want to be normal, eat like everyone else and pretend like everyone else that everything's OK. But it's not.

At least I live just around the corner from the beach and I'm going there now. Walking on the beach and going for a swim in that beautiful ocean never fail to make me feel better, I feel part of something much bigger than myself, much bigger than work, much bigger than office politics, much bigger than any politics, and much much more fulfilling.

The sea is a healing thing.

Love
