Bad news on yoghurt, Snugglebear. Have a look at this thread, started today: http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5848. Asy says you can finish the yoghurt you have bought.
The diet helps with all sorts of problems. You've discovered one so far. You'll probably discover some more along the way. AJ

Bad bad news
Well AJ has just filled me in on an important piece of info boys and girls. Our yoghurt has to be 2% fat or less over 175gr. The listings on the sides of the cartons goes by 100gr portions. So the yoghurt that I have just bought 2ltrs of (98% ff and natural) is illegal. Here I am thinking that I have been so good too . Thanks AJ I would have merrily kept eating it forever. The blood test would have been a major shock otherwise. At least I am only 11 days in and am not addicted yet. Sorry to all the Vaalia eaters out there who are apparently in the same boat.
Back to happier news, I think I can see some difference in my bellies (yes there are 2 of them at the moment) they seem to be soft and squishy instead of firm. That can only be good. And a pair of jeans that didn't fit me last week do this week. TOM is almost here (tomorrow) so I am just waiting to see what that does to/for me for the weigh-in on Thursday. I would usually spend the day on the loo today evacuating all unnecessary baggage (you know what I mean don't you) and then Aunty Flow arrives tomorrow. I guess I will wait and see. The good news is there have been no chocolate cravings and I am not cranky, yet......... We were just invited to an 18th birthday party. I am not going, besides the fact that it is with the in-laws I just don't feel ready for that sort of environment yet. I am not hungry but if I start seeing and smelling I might just be tempted. Besides my Mother in Law is bound to say something about how fat I am and that could trigger my inner demons. Must go to work Catchya J

The news is all good!
Greetings
All is fine on the yoghurt front (at this point). There must have been a miscommunication somewhere but my yoghurt is OK pending further notice from Asy. I have to tell you all that I feel great. I love that Cohen man and his fat-burning plan. This diet feels like it was made with me in mind. I don't feel deprived, I am definitely not hungry and I don't think about food all day any more. I am almost not wanting to go away on holidays. It is going to mess with me big time. I am the happiest that I have been in ages with energy to burn. Now for a little gripe, why is it that when eating people feel the need to look at what you are eating???? I was asked the other day at work if I was just eating lettuce. Ummmmm no. It just happened that pretty much all my lunch was a similar colour and I hadn't mixed it up much. So what if I was eating lettuce anyway!!!! Tomorrow I am going to be brave and step onto those dreaded scales again. I won't hope for too much because of TOM but a little something would be nice. My son has predicted a total loss of 6.4kg. Let's see if he is right, I doubt it but lets wait and see. Still no deviations Catchya J

Hi Snugglebear!
I'm with you, I feel better than I have in a long, long time on this diet and it just feels so good to know that we are taking care of our bodies instead of abusing them doesn't it? You made me laugh with the "so what if I was eating just lettuce" with flasher smiley. They are just jealous they don't have the will power to do what you are doing . When I told a friend I was going to do Cohens she said don't do it, all you will be able to eat is lettuce salads, chicken and I will have to have vegetables for breakfast. She is friends with another lady who did it so thought she knew all about it. How wrong could she be?? There is alot of choice on Cohens really. Maybe the other friend didn't like yoghurt so yes she had to have egg & veg for brekky. She also couldn't be bothered making an effort to cook a meal for herself so yes, she got stuck with salads every day, she also didn't like anything else but chicken so woohoo she lived on chicken for 5 months. That was her choice, not the diets fault. Have I babbled in your diary enough now??? Point is, everyones an expert, you know this works so who cares what anyone else says. You are doing really well, hope you lose that 6.4kg as predicted and good on you for being D free! Suzie |

Where are you Snugglebear? What was the news from the scales? I hope everything's okay. Sorry, but I've been busy and got way behind with diaries.
I have to say that I'm getting a bit tired of the diet vegetables. Everything I eat is just green and white, with occasionally a bit of tomato. I have to admit to taking an interest in what people eat when they are on a diet. I've been interested in diets for a long time. Have you started taking an interest in what everyone else eats? I'm amazed at how much they eat. MIL should have more tact. AJ

Greetings all
OK so I did that scales thing on Thursday and was down 1.5kg (total of 5kg in 2 weeks with TOM) my hubbie picked that and the child was annoyed that he didn't win. Glad my weight loss has become a game for them to play. I am now making sure that when I cook chicken that I cook it until it is crispy brown, makes it taste naughtier and it's brown, not green, not white. I took my mozzarella, celery and some crackers for lunch yesterday and ate while no one else was so that there was no reason for them being sticky-beaks. My boss (who knows about the Cohen's) said that she could tell I am losing weight because my face looks thinner and so does my chest. That's right you guys don't know that I have a chicken chest (so I call it). My chest is boney, always has been always will be, you know that part between your neck and your cleavage, horrid but I had completely forgotten about it because it actually had some fat on it. I had my first clothing incident this morning. Put on a fav pair of pants and had a good 5cm between me and the pants, grabbed a belt to hold them up and found that a belt, which wouldn't go around me 2 weeks ago now buckles. My hubbie went mad because he said I was stuffing around but I wasn't, honest, I was just trying to keep my pants on. I am still not hungry, no deviations and can even watch my boys eating my favourite food and not want to punch them, so all is good. Catchya all later J

Hi Snugglebear! You're doing so well! We'll finish at the same time, the rate you're going, even though I'm a few weeks ahead of you! I only lost 500 grams in the week where I had TOM, so you did better than me
I hear ya with the whole everyone being an expert thing. Mostly it's my partner's mother. Still haven't quite forgiven her for the triumph in her voice when she said 'told you it would slow down' when I only lost 500 grams. I'm sure she was just worried for my health if I lost too quickly, but still! You keep powering on pretty lady!

Thanks Soontobe and Mette for visiting.
I have been feeling truly yucky all day today. Headache, nausia, dizziness and I don't know if its the Cohen's (no, I haven't had a deviation) or whether I am getting sick. Don't wanna get sick, too much to do. Now here is my current gripe (apart from the head spins) does anyone but me wish that someone else would cook them dinner, just once? My hubby quite often cooks on the weekends but not since Cohens. It was a real treat when he did it before and now I am feeling sick and he can't/won't look after me I am a sook when I don't feel well (if you hadn't noticed). I slept in this morning, didn't have breakfast until 8.15am, lunch finished by 2pm so I can't have dinner til 7pm and then I have to stay up until 9pm, FAT CHANCE. I just found out on Friday that my boss (who is truly a friend) has been transferred so there will be a new boss from this Friday. She doesn't want to go and we don't want her to. So I guess I wait and see if I like the new lady, apparently she wears makeup you could take off with a spoon and long talons and she doesn't actually do any work. Luckily since I am a volunteer I can just leave if I don't like her and go volunteer elsewhere. Its a shame, I was planning on getting all my new skinnier clothes from work and then was going to donate them back as I get smaller. Very low costs outfits Anyway must go take more drugs for my headache. Luv you all J

My husband and I have taken turns cooking for the family for years now. We still do, since I started Cohen's. That means when it's my turn to cook i cook a meal for him and the kids and my separate meal for me, and when it's his turn to cook he cooks a meal for him and the kids and I still cook my meal for me. It don't think it's even occurred to him that he could maybe whip up mine too. He's not selfish, and he always pulls his weight - it just seems to be a huge blind spot, and/or it just seems too hard. And would I like someone else to cook my meal now and again? YES! So it's not just you.
Hope you wake up tomorrow with no headache LiM

Greetings
For the first time in 5 days I woke up this morning without a headache. . I know that is not as exciting as a weight loss but to me it is just as good. And as for the sick tummy I got rid of it and my son got it (so that eliminates Cohen's as a suspect). He woke up this morning just fine so it must have just been a little bug. Lessismore - I have been thinking about the whole hubby cooking for me thing and I am having doubts. Would I trust him not to add his own special touches (something he is famous for)? The upside is that both the hubby and the son are both becoming very interested in what I have been eating. I have been making chicken mince patties (that Alex wants for dinner) and the hubby is loving the looks of my dinners. Maybe I could try to talk him around!!! Soon to be - I think I just need to get more organised. I have all my little containers of weighed raw meat in the freezer but what I really need is some frozen meals all ready to go, like your soup idea. That is what I need, no brainer food, for the bad days. That should be my mission for today. In fact I will go do that right now, Kisses to all J

Hi Snugglebear,
Yes I would love for someone else to cook my dinner. I don't cook anything different when family come. I cook the same basic Cohen food for all of us, then add extra veg - carrot, pumpkin potato etc to the plate for everyone else. If doing salad, I make a basic one with all the allowed veg and then measure mine out on a plate, then add extra to the large bowl- avocado, corn or something. Everyone can add their own dressing. DH cooks steaks on the BBQ on the weekend. This makes it really easy for me. I figure we are all eating more healthily now.

I'm another one who would like someone to cook my meals occasionally, Snugglebear. I have on four occasions had dinner at a restaurant where they weighed my food for me and cooked it. It was lovely, particularly the first time, after months of preparing every meal for myself, and usually for DH also.

Are they trying to kill me??
Greetings
Time for a little update. Faithful readers will know that I am getting a new boss (meeting her on Friday), so of course that means that there has to be a little going away party for the old boss and guess who they put in charge of buying the damned cake!!!!!! And they specified gooey and sticky and chocolatey! I truly hate them. I could have bought the flowers or the pressie or something but no it had to be the cake. Yesterday at work was crap. Driving to work I could smell a strange burning smell coming from my car, not good! Of course when I mentioned this to the hubby last weekend he said he couldn't smell it so didn't even bother to look. Then when I get to work and pulled my carefully weighed lunch out of my bad the lid flew off and my lunch went everywhere. All faithful Cohenites will know that this is the absolute worse thing that could possibly happen. BTW I do not believe in the 3 second rule, IF IT GOES ON THE FLOOR IT GOES IN THE BIN. I just stood there thinking S*#T!!! Now what do I do???? It was mostly the celery that flew so I just ate the stuff that hit the table and the chair. Such is life..... The good news is that my son recently got a Distinction in the UNSW Science test and I found out yesterday he is also getting a Distinction in the UNSW Maths test. He is sitting the computer test today and I told him that I wanted him to get highest in the State. (I must mention that last year he got a High Distinction Top 1% in the State) I went to the Chiro this morning and he is very happy with my back and only had to do minor adjustments YIPPPEEEEEE. I will weigh in tomorrow (Thursday) and will let everybody know, for some reason I am not feeling all that confident. I haven't deviated or anything but I am just not feeling cocky.

Hey pretty lady! Sounds like you had one of 'those' days yesterday. Hate when that happens! Look on the bright side though: it can only get better!
Congratulations with your son's achievements! You must be the proudest mum ever! I mainly stopped by to say thank you for your support in my diary. It means more to me than I could ever tell you. And believe me, if the adoption thing would work, I'd hold you to that! There may be a solution to it all, though. More shall be told in my diary! Enjoy the rest of your week, chicky!
