Default 11th Day Story

Today is an extremely hectic day. I knew and was prepared that today will be busy but I didn't think it would get to this level.

Upon reaching my work place, I was immediately swarmed with a task and because of that, I totally forgot to place my lunchbox into the fridge! I almost freaked out when I recalled at about 12. However, I wasn't able to do anything about it as I was in a meeting which lasted till 2.20pm!!! Gosh, I had my breakfast at 6.30am and that was a good 8 hours! However, strangely, I didn't feel hungry at all...which is an extremely WONDERFUL thing. I prayed so hard that the lunch wouldn't have turned bad else I'll be in for trouble. Well, good thing it didn't.

After was filled with even more meetings and I was tied up at my workplace till 7.20pm!! Duh! That meant I was going to have a late dinner of more than 5 hrs from lunch . To worsen the situation, I was caught in a BL**** traffic jam! That got me soooo frustrated that I had to source the best alternative route home but still, that took me another 40 mins. Yes, I was home at about 8.20pm. Then I quickly got down to preparing for dinner and by the time I could eat, it was already 8.50pm...sigh...almost contemplated of just buying takeaways halfway to home...good thing I didn't but the hunger was almost unbearable!

I am proud to say the very least that I managed a good 11 undeviated days and that's a good 33 meals! Wow! Never knew I could have this level of determination. Let's wish for a good day tomorrow.

Default Trudging through Day 12

I don't know why I'm so mentally weak today. I almost crashed in around evening time. I so much wanted to just deviate from the programme and have a hearty meal somewhere since it's the weekend over here. I guess the efforts put in in the last 2 weeks managed to stop me from deviating. I eventually told myself forget it, have a diet coke and just carry on...bite the bullet!! Yes, I managed to clear the day - another deviation free day. Certainly glad that I didn't disappoint myself.

My husband has his friends over and ohhhhh they brought over herbal chicken...yummy...but I DIDN'T EAT IT! They almost literally stuffed it down my bowl of Cohen soup which I managed to retract in time...gosh...no way am I going to feed my body with that oily stuff...not just yet.

I'm glad to say that I'll be hitting 14 days by Sunday. I certainly hope that I'll be 100% deviation free. Not easy I know...but guess there are many out there who have done it, why can't I?

To be continued ...

Hi Flamie,

Am so proud that you have successfully rid your mind of the mouth-watering food! There are so many temptations (and I am almost salivating at the thought of herbal chicken) but KUDOS to you!!! You did it again!!!

Default 13th Day - Hitting Half Mth!

Woke up for breakfast at 9.15am today and had this yogurt. Well, not too bad, getting used to having yogurt for breakfast. Sour surely but well, heck, it is fast and oil free.

Lunch was chicken/cauliflower/wongbok stir fry and stew...yummy except that chicken breast meat really aint suited for stew...it got real tough but the vegetables were delicious and I wished I could have more...I'm a real vege person and not really that into meat...sigh but Cohen programme talks about food balance

I really need LOADS of ideas before I get bored with the same food all the time - day in and day out. I really want to hang on to the programme as long as I can. Know what? Today I was out after breakfast and simply refused to have lunch outside...despite my relatives being around. I insisted to go home to cook my lunch...YES I DID IT but that was a good 6 hrs after breakfast when I had my lunch...so was darn hungry and gobbled down my food. I don't feel full at all! I'm so afraid that I would get hungry soon again. Wishing I won't of course.

Anyway, I hope that I can hit my first goal of 79.9kg really soon...could it be in a day or two? I'm finally below 180 pounds and about 0.5kg away from 80kg...hhhmmm yipee! After that I'll be looking at 5kg target all the way (hopefully) to my ideal weight.

Default My First Half Month! Yoohoo!

Boy, I'm so happy that I've hit my first 2 weeks on Cohen - UNDEVIATED 100%,YOOHOO! I've managed another 200 grams loss this morning from yesterday and that brings me to 80.3kg unofficially!!!! That makes it REAL close to 7kg loss this month and my target for this month is just to go below 80kg and yes I think and believe I can make it with another 2 weeks to spare...oh happiness!!!!!

I got myself a digital scale yesterday to check on a more precise weight loss. It suddenly dawn on me that I've not hit the 70s for a LONG time - not in the last 3 years at least. Gosh! If you see my starting weight, at 87kg, I really can't believe that I've been carrying those extra weight around for nothing for so many years! With this little weight loss, I'm beginning to feel a whole lot better about myself - less panting even if I'm to walk a bit faster / climing up 4 levels of a building. Guess this has made me even more motivated to stay undeviated till my goal weight.

LONG JOURNEY TO GOAL WEIGHT BUT IT'S WORTH IT!

Oh yes, my next motivation is to be able to put up some photos real soon once I hit the 75kg mark! On my way to being the real FlaMie

Hehe - it's always good to see happy people around !! How cool are YOU? And, with another 2 weeks to go, you will be blowing 80Kg right away !!!

At the rate you are going, you are on track to lose MORE than the average (over 4 weeks) on here. You are already close after TWO weeks !!

Hang in there, FlaMie - whatever it is you are doing, it's working REALLY well

BTW, to see for yourself the "average weightloss over 4 weeks" click here:-

Whoops -you've already FOUND it !!! But hey, don't set yourself up for disappointment, FlaMie - there aren't many at all who manage 14Kgs in 4 weeks. I'd think you would do REAL well if you can manage 10Kgs (which is STILL above average). You are off to a good start - you might even make 11Kgs.....

And that is a REALLY good start !! The first week or two or usually DOUBLE the usual loss over time. So, with 7Kgs down, something around 10 - 11Kgs sounds like a realistic goal for your first month. And that is AWESOME !!!!

Hi Koh, thanks for the encouragement! Yea, I guess I shouldn't set too high a target to be disappointed subsequently. Not that there's any way to set any target at all...fat will melt if they wanna melt...rofl. Anyway, just fixing my focus to meal by meal and day by day. What's hardest really is thinking what to cook up...I'm a novice at cooking...HELP!

Hey FlaMie,

Have you been neglecting your ticker? It's showing 84Kg lost - is it behind the times? (just a bit? )

Hahahah yes, I'm actually a bit behind my actual weight now. However, I thought I should just leave it as it is till my actual weigh in at the clinic? Then I gather that really counts? Or should I just keep track as I go along?

Hey your doing well. The great thing is we know sticking DF that our scales haveto eventually move down. For me I can remember the first few weeks noticing big changes with the losses. Its awesome enjoy the ride. It gets better as you stay motivated looking at what your achieving...
You will be done before you know it.. I have lost (and i think slower than some 24kgs in about 15 weeks and wow time flies it really does) and its all worth it when you are happy within yourself truly with the results in and out..

Keep going strong.. Your doing it!

Hey Maria, thanks for your encouragement! Yes, I think so too that the little weight loss of mine is indeed an achievement - at least in my opinion..hehhe. I have not lost weight for many many years to begin with.

However, I think it'll make it easier to stick to the plan if I could be more professional at cooking...I'm a real novice, hence I don't get much variety as much as I would like to. This is the GREATEST problem that I'm facing. Need help from anyone who drops in!

Hi Flamie,
You are doing so well - Keep it up.

With regards to recipes - have you looked at the recipes on this forum. In the beginning I spent many hours going through and selecting recipes to cut and paste into a word document and then printed them out. I have tried many of these and rate them so I know which ones to cook again. I currently love the garlic prawns and feel like a real treat when I eat them. I have also learnt alot with using sprite zero in my cooking. It is well worth the time to look over these recipes.

Good luck, Cheers Rosemary

Hi Rosemary, thanks for dropping in! Great, I think I will do just what you suggested...cut and paste recipes and try them out...the only thing is I'm really a novice at cooking and would prefer recipes that allow me to cook in minutes!

Well, guess I shan't complain about my weight loss currently. I think I've made some improvements and I do feel a whole lot better about myself...but the thought that I have to be on it for many months more is rather daunting .

Hi FlaMie
Looking at how many months you might be on it is really daunting, so I try to look just at how much I am losing and have already lost. It really does seem to fly ( I've been on 14 weeks and it seems like no time at all)
Cheers
Michelle

Hi Flamie - my tip that I have only discovered in the past few weeks & perhaps this might help you - is keep it simple. I have the same quick meat or poultry or seafood combos' but I just change the veg. I tried to be all creative and try heaps of recipes in the first 2 weeks or so- but they weren't satisfying. I tried rolling and stuffing chicken, oven baking blah blah blah...now.....

I do a stock standard savory mince, a curry chk (with my mayo allowance) I steam my fish with veg. So I went for a few weeks with zucchini mushroom caps, then I was on the cabbage cauliflower combos, right now I am loving spinich and mushroom. So if your not a gourmet chef it doesn't matter - if your prepping the same way every day and the only variation is the veg and condiment then you will be whipping up your meals in minutes! Sounds a bit boring but for me personally - its quick and a no brainer and it means I get it into my hungry belly as quickly as poss!

keep on keepng on!

Default Week 3 Day 1

Was a bit tired this morning and had wanted to sleep a little bit more after the alarm sounded. Next thing I knew I had slept another good 20 minutes...grr that only means my breakfast will be one big rush. Had wanted to boil egg to eat, nah that wasn't an option as I was late for work...so ate yogurt instead.

After heading for shower and removing my bowel, I decided to step onto the dreadful machine again - not hoping to see very much difference from yesterday but it should not go up at least. What I saw really surprised me! I'm unofficially into the 70s as of today!!!! I'm actually 0.01g lower than my first goal...so I'm 79.8kg after bowel...if that counts. hahahah but I'm not going to be too quick to change my ticker just as yet. Let the weight stabiliise a little before I change it again...wowoowowow HAPPY!

Day was busy right from the start with 2 hours of lessons...btw, I teach in a high school so yea, that was pretty much for me today in school. Have to do some planning for work later but before that, I must go eat my lunch now! hahahaha yummy ... hungry already...gggeeezzzz.

I think hunger is still around somewhere but I guess I've gotten used to the feeling and just gulp down water to stop that 'airy' feeling... Dinner was yummily delicious. I whipped up spicy prawns with my favourite vegetables...cool! Guess will continue to do that for a while in this week...

Hey moe, I think your suggestion is great and I think I'm actually settling into a pattern just as you mentioned, which is why I'm finding it a bit of a bore. I usually try to play with my veges which really isn't too much . I'm a vege lover and I guess Dr Cohen managed to detect that through my blood test and kinda limit the vege that I can have...SAD big time.

Well, I whipped up spicy prawns just now for dinner...yummily delicious! Will stick with it for a while this week...hahaha.

Hi Michelle, thanks for dropping in. Wow! I salute your patience - 14 weeks! I don't know if I'll even survive 2 months which is 8 weeks? I'm praying hard that I won't deviate so that I can lose more [technically sounds right]. So, I've been good up till now but I do have a couple of birthdays coming up so I'm beginning to worry
