I am new too! Have been browsing over the forum for the last couple months but am now currently 2 days into the programme... have about 40kg to lose. At the moment I am just hanging to get over these first few days of hunger... I feel as if I could chew off my arm!! Did everyone else feel like this and for how long?

Hi Sammy - welcome! I am new as well - been on Cohens before and came back because I put some of the weight back on over 18 mths. I didn't join the forum last time but this time decided I would for that bit of extra support and it has been wonderful!

I am on Day 6 now - it does get much better and I do seem to have some times where I do feel very hungry (I don't remember feeling hungry at all after Day 3 the first time around) I think this could be attributed to the fact that I am using my old program again, but I have just decide to try to distract myself when I feel like chewing off my arm! Either I have a bath or if things get really bad and I get the opportunity I go to bed!

I read in some other posts that you would like to be part of a challenge - me too! Maybe we should just start one. I would like to do a Challenge to the end of May - because I have a Gala Ball on that night - interested?

Hi C40,

You said a mouthful here :-

You are SO right !! Get the mental part in control, and you will sail through this, AND retain (maintain) the final result too.

There's a "gem" from the very earliest days on here that talks of this very thing (see post #11 in the link below - #1 to #10, and #12 onward are worth a look too ):-

Hi guys,

I'm new to Cohens programme and was introduced to it by SMS. Will be starting my programme in a few days as I had just received my booklet. Have around 30kg to lose and hopefully I can complete this programme successfully.

cheers

Hi George,

I believe SMS is batting 1000 - thus, he'll be looking to you to keep his average up

Nah, kidding - but seriously, the guys have it pretty good on Cohens, and you will be bouncing off walls, and high-fiving off the scales very quickly.

Welcome aboard,
Koh

Hi Jess!

Welcome to the forum and to Cohens...

I hope you enjoy the Cohens program... I have heard it is easier to stick to cohens, with less fussing about with seeds or something?? Can't say I know what I'm talking about, I have never looked into sureslim, but I recall reading some posts on this forum about Sureslim VS Cohens and the differences between them.

Anyhoo, just wanted to say welcome, and also, I am back for my 2nd time on Cohens. After I got to goal, I went through a really emotional time and started regaining weight- I didn't take control then, so the whole sitch got way out of control and I ended up almost putting all the weight I had lost back on.

I am actually using my old program and so far it is working

Are you planning on starting a diary?? They are great for motivation and to get to know all your fellow Cohenites on the forum

Hi Missy,

I'm such a nerd. As you can see I am yet to work out how to post things properly... whoops!

Sureslim yes!lots of seeds! they are not too bad after a while (roasted seeds can actually be quite tasty!), but yes... it definielty took some adjusting! Sureslim also had the 5 hour gaps thing, drinking lots of water, the bloodtest, set meal weights. ... except yeah not as much scientific backing, plus they have pretty much changed the entire company format... gone completely online with video style meetings with a consultant. Didn't really like the idea of that! When I found Cohen's it was like everything I liked about Sureslim WITH actual scientific research, and the clinicians at my info session were way more informed on nutrition than the ones at SS.

So glad to be a cohenite yes! And wow! Good on you for doing it a second time! So good to know I'm not the only one! pheew

I totally understand about the emotional time thing... I experienced the same thing after getting back from o/s and just completely fell out of the zone back into bad eating habits, going out, drinking too much, grabbing a block of chocolate when i felt lonely and overall just not caring about myself anymore. It's such a hard thing to admit to yourself that you need help with something as simple as eating, but to the vunerable and needy, the fast food industry owes its fortune. Have you ever seen a movie called Food Inc? I watched it the other night. It was a fascinating movie about the food industry and how so many bad products are produced and marketed.

Congratulations on giving it another go. It's gotta be better than not doing anything!
I will def have a diary.. just gotta figure this forum thing out...
Would love you hear from you on your journey too.
Cheers!!
Jess

Hi Slim,

With you being 5 days in, you might already be starting to realise you don't need luck any more - usually by then, the WORST of the detox is over, and things just get better from here.

But, in case you are still finding it a bit tough, GOOD LUCK to you in sticking to this - the latter is what will ensure your success.

So, stick to it, relax as much as you can, and very soon you will hit "the Zone" (in which all things seem possible, even EASY!!) Won't be long now - usually 2 to 3 weeks, then woohoo !!

Welcome aboard too,
Koh

Hi Slim to be, i'm on day 6 and want to welcome you too (even though i'm a newbie). How have you found the first few days? I had a bit of hunger first 2-3 days and a dull headache but now feeling great. I couldn't help but take a peek at the scales this morning and was really happy -naughty i know but i needed some motivation as my husband and kids were having pizza for lunch....it was all the motivation i needed and i feel great. How much have you to lose? I have 20-23kg. Keep in touch and good luck!
Angie

Angie and Slim to be if your a week in your probably over the worst of it and as Koh so rightly said luck has nothing to do with it! Stick to the plan and the results will follow! A big welcome to you both!
