I have to say, it did occur to me to break down the goals into 2 smaller ones, but of a different kind.

I don't want to ruin the challenge though - does anyone have any thoughts?

Well... If you're thinking of doing it as 2 smaller goals... how about doing a dancing banana challenge? You could incorporate it into this one or have it run separately. Like, get through the first week d-free and get a dancing banana, get through the second week and upgrade it to a dancing mango? That way you have an incentive for the first week as well.

I was just thinking... with the point system... just because I'm a bit dense... would we be sending it back to you each fortnight? It's just I'm a bit forgetful (I get distracted easily) and I have a feeling I'd forget to send it or even fill it out I don't wanna miss out on my mangoes...

Hi Mette, you are not dense (or forgetful)!!

If you want to, you can just post your score on here ie. 64/84, or 83/84 etc. You would only get the dancing mango if you get 100% ie. 84/84.

The main idea was to motivate those who are having trouble getting to the main prize so to speak. I think if you all keep track yourselves (obviously you don't have an issue with it Mette!!), it just gives you an indication of how close/far you are to achieving 100%. AND...allows you to better yourself each week in the process.

I like the idea of the dancing mango vs dancing banana.

Since the next challenge does not start until the 31st, let's get everyone's ideas on here first before any decisions are made...

You are now the Egalitarian Mango Queen !!!
I'll be happy whichever way it goes... but I like the small rewards & 'trading up' option !!

I have to admit I would love to have a 1 week incentive and then upgrade it to a danicing mango at the second week.

Just rewards ppl a little more..

Howdy

As the outgoing Mango Queen I'm happy with whatever you decide. The Dancing Mango challenge in its present form worked for me but I can appreciate that some people would like a weekly reward. My only thought is that it may get a bit tricky to manage unless the challenge remains a fortnightly challenge, so you only get a banana in week one of the fortnightly challenge and a mango after week 2. Otherwise poor Chailee will have bananas and mangoes flying all over the place and you won't know which week is which.

You would also have to maintain the same set of rules for bananas as are in place for mangoes. i.e If you have a mango but deviate over the course of the next 2 challenges then you lose that mango...or all your mangoes if you have more than one. So with the bananas if you deviate over the next 2 weeks you'd lose your banana.

x

Just a thought - use the banana for "successful week 1" - at the end of week two, it is either upgraded for a Mango, or it is lost, depending.

That way, it is positive affirmation on a WEEKLY basis, rather than having to wait for two weeks. But the banana would only be an "interim place-holder" for a mango.

Yeah! That's what I meant! I don't always express myself very well... I blame it on being foreign!

OK...it's settled then.

Stick 100% for the week, and you get a dancing Banana. If you are 100% for another week, then you get a dancing Mango. If you deviate in the second week, then you unfortunately will lose the dancing Banana.

I have an excel spreadsheet for you to monitor your progress. PM me with your email address and I will email it back to you, no probs.

The new challenge starts on Friday, so let's all get in the right frame of mind, and get the dancing banana...and then onto the mango!! Baby steps right?

One more sleep till mango number 6! And then 7 more sleeps till the 'nana! And then 7 more sleeps after that till the next mango!

Some would say I'm obsessed... Some would just say I'm plain crazy... They'd probably be right

Hey Loulou and Chailee

First of all, thank you Loulou for keeping this challenge going so efficiently! We'll miss you!

Chailee: A warm welcome to our new mango queen!

Just wanted to report that I've been d-free the past fortnight, and I'm looking forward to adding my second mango tomorrow...and hopefully my dancing banana the week after!

Yes, thank you Loulou for all your work on this challenge!!! And thank you for passing this over to me, it may very well be my lifeline, I suspect...

Here's the list for this week's challenge.

TwoZeds
Lindy
Nat
Dedeemay
Francesca
Katie6
lou102
Lulabelle
Tezza
indiana13
Toni Marie
Sparky
new_ruby
SuzieQ
slimstar
Mette
Nance's Big Sister
Polly
Mandarella

Please contact me asap if I have missed your name off here. Thanks.

Since the rules have changed sightly, we will all be aiming for a Dancing Banana this week. Which will then be changed to a Dancing Mango at the end of next week if you are successfully d-free for the whole time.

And, since we are all going to succeed , then perhaps look at the 10kg in 6 weeks challenge within this Challenge section, as we are all going to do it right???!!!

And, don't forget you can always PM me and let me know your email address, and I will email you back a spreadsheet to follow your progress in a simple way.

May the force me with you!! LOL..
