Andy, your recent diary entry is a delight to read. Just realising how all the small things can make such a difference to your life, and you can appreciate them where those who have never been overweight do not realise how important all those little things can be. I noticed that the weight you still have to lose is less than 10% of the weight you have lost. Sixty kilos is such a fantastic achievement.

I'm also feeling the cold. We've been in Castlemaine for two days, and it has really cold nights and mornings. I'm not going to enjoy this winter.

:P So so close now Andy. Sound like a fantastic trip you have planned. I remember when my cousin Hexi and I went to Luna Park here in Melbourne and were asked to get off a ride because we were both to fat to have the restraint bar put down. Our bellys were just to big and the ride guy was pushing down almost killing us trying to get it shut. It was so embarassing...all we could do was laugh when really all we both wanted to do was cry. We went home soon after that. Anyway...have a great time. Bye bye for now

well its been a wonderful few days - and I have seen some wonderful people and met some new friends in person and then on Monday out to lunch with some great people - true Cohenites as well !!! and the coffee Club at Stones Corner in Brisbane had no hesitation in cooking my meal to my exact specifications weight and ingredients ....and it was perfect.

Last night went to the K D Lange concert and it was fantastic - just as I it should be and so good .......... and was just such a great night.

Today we have moved to Surfers and into a resort - Crown Towers - very nice and everything we would need. Although we are off to movie world tomorrow I went see an old mate who runs a skin or mole checking service - firstly he is stunned and impressed with my weight loss and good health - so he into me with a spray can and burnt about 16 sun spots off my face - will have me looking a bit spotty though I am better off with out them there........ legacy of outback Queensland and all on my right side - driving side spots no doubt - then photographed and documented a few more and took one off - right where my seatbelt sits near my collar bone - so might have to put Dream world on hold and make sure that it doesn't pop the stiches out - and I reckon old mate will do as he did to you AE and slam the lid down on my chest - but will do Movieworld tomorrow so will see how we go - anyway its a good excuse to come back !!!!!!! if I cant go this time around.

So far have stuck to my plan so I am pleased and hopefully the weight is dropping off as I go ............. so to all the new people starting this week - hang in and do what you have to do ....you will win and its well worth it.

So good toe see ASY's efforts in helping some of the less fortunate members get on their program........ and to see that all who have started are still going down ........ great achievements are being achieved every day on this program.......with a little bit of persistance and goodwill!!!!!

Have a good week

ANDY

Andy, you are looking terrific now. I was looking at the photo from the Brisbane meeting. It's hard to see where the extra kilos are going to come from. However, we all have faith in Dr Cohen and I'm sure you'll look even better when it's off.

Hey Andy,

Sorry I missed you mate - sounds like you had a ball in SEQ !!! I had to be on the plane early Monday (and other things kept me from coming to the "get-together" on the Sunday too). You are looking SO good mate (saw the pic in the Bne get-together).

Enjoy what remains of your SEQ trip - and I'll catch up at some stage - yours is one hand I REALLY want to shake !! You're a bloody star !!

Well I am home for a few days - Wafter a couple of full on weeks away.
Weight wise I have been all over the place - up a bit down a bit since leaving home on holidays - I am sure that it effects the even metabolism that you must have to complete this program.

I also found that I tend not to drink any where enough water - hence I have been hungry as well so that would be another reason that it fluctuated so much whilst I was away.

I have also been feeling exhausted from the just the fact that that I had so much to do as I was away near the city and needed to look see and find so much stuff - and it does involve a lot of extra running about.

I am so sad about Pudge and her great loss - they were so much about to start the next phase of their life together. It is so hard to understand or comprehend these things and it is very very unfair at times for all those involved and I can only feel for Pudge at the sudden loss of her whole world at this time.

My thoughts and contemplations are with you Pudge - in mind and soul and spirit if not in body. .......o so very much !!!!!!!!!

I have a few jobs to do on my caravan so will do those at a much steadier pace for a couple of days now.

And try and catch up on a few others things around the place.

Andy

I certainly find that a break in my routine upsets my weight loss, Andy, particularly being too busy. I hope you can take things a bit easier for a while.

How's it going Andy? Did you regain your momentum and heading towards starting the refeed?

I'm waiting with "baited" breath for you to start the end of cohen (actually to start a new begining).

My wife said my breath smells a bit "baited" (sardine), it's bated breath

Default I am here - just been busy !!!!!

Well - I have been busy and doing lots and yes whilst I have not posted - have been here at the forum every day to read and catch up with some diary's as I could and also to do some - back room stuff - with the changes to to the new software.

I must add here that the whole change and setup has been accomplished very well and very smoothly and my congratulations must go to the team and the workers - BALOO and ASY - take a big big big pat on the back - this forum is so important and so much a part of the whole BIG Cohen's picture and the improvements that have been done will have huge benefits for so many persons in the real world - the ripples are everlasting for all who come this way - even if its just for a quick lurk .....they leave a little better off I think.

My few weeks have been interesting to say the lest - I have been away - firstly for a couple of weeks R & R then some other stuff. For the first two weeks my weight was normal and I stuck 100 % - the next couple have been a huge learning curve for me - I will try and put it into words for the benefit of others for their information.

I was 77 kg - on the dot - on 9/05 then I set out for Toowoomba with my van - got very very hungry and stayed with friends - ate the right food with them but not weighed - but think I would have been under in my food portions - then the hunger hit on Sunday and I had an extra apple and and suddenly ate two more - then I was very cold so I ate the Salada's then another three then another three apples and went to bed.

No big deal I thought and was cranky - after 37 weeks I did that !!!!!

Then on the Sunday I was traveling and again so very very very hungry - drank 4 cans of diet coke and yes - ate the apples again - all 6 and a full lettuce - yes I stopped and bought a $1.00 green normal old lettuce and sat and ate it.

Got to Brisbane - drove in the traffic got lost and then found where I was going - towing a caravan - then @ 6 p - ate the rest of the salad's as I drove - yes about 10 of them - all the time justifying it to myself that I was 66 kg down and wasn't going to have tea tonight as a swap....... sort of thing.

Then got back to my van and cooked the set tea and ate it - weighed it carefully and then ate it all - then waited until about 9 pm and again ate some more crackers and an apple before bed .......... all the time just feeling so hungry and really in some ways wanting to just start binge eating. And cold - o so very cold - which I have never been and especially in Brisbane.

So next day I decided that I was mad and went about and stuck to the plan full on exactly until Thursday when I decided that I was going to have a counter meal - so over to the Rocklea hotel (but I didn't drink) and ordered a 250 gram fillet with salad and asked that no chips be added - so they bring the steak with salad and chips - so I ate the salad which was fine then ate 6 big chips - plus the 250 gram steak.

My belly was rumbling and I suffered all night - with guilt and an upset tummy.

Come Friday - and on the road heading to Toowoomba - missed a turn and then as I drove ate 12 apples - I know it was 12 granny smiths as I had bought 4 days of fruit allowance - 3 apples a day = 12 and here I ate them all by midday - no lunch for me.

Then Toowoomba and the people I was staying with insisted that I was too thin and basically bombarded me with food - and they don't understand what and why and their perception is of a man who has lost too much weight too quick - and old friends who see things very differently to me as far as diet etc - so my manners had to stay (no excuse by me mind you).

I ate two handfuls of cashews and about 10 big plump olives - then ate a piece of steak for tea and felt so guilty - upset with myself after so many weeks - but thats what happened mentally tough but also a learning curve on a very uneven playing filed !!!!!.... but a lesson to learn stuff no doubt.

Well stuck pretty well to the program until I got home on Sunday night and Jenny my wife back in control again cooking - so first thing Monday so very hungry I couldn't sleep - weighed and yes 78.9 kg - so from 77 after 10 days back to 78.9.

So very hungry and yes it hit me Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday - I have felt really worn out - but this morning 77 kg on the dot - so a hard mental road was taken - but thats my story.

Yes its a hard hard hard job - and you need to be so careful from day 1 to the very last minute !!!!!!!!!

But its behind me hopefully and I just need to knuckle down - refocus - get tough mentally - get over it and "just do" no mucking about just goal set - get grit and into it - and get to my goal weight of 71to 73 - so have a target of 72 kg - then do my refeed.

I know I can do it and I will ....... bottom line ...and hopefully my last few days are well behind me !!!!!!

All the best to all and lets get the job done - together we can and will ....... we are all wanting and needing it ....we just need to do and to do and to do !!!!!!!!

Andy

Hi Andy,
Considering how hungry you were I think you didn't do too bad

It is so hard to be on Cohens when your routine is disrupted.

I think it is a very anti social type of diet because you do feel rude when your knock back meals that family or friends have prepared for you. Most really don't understand how strict the diet is.

It is a wonder you haven't broken out in hives with all the apples you have eaten

cheers

Tuti

Hi Andy,
Glad you're back

You might have to watch that when you have finished re feed, at least you have a heads up and can do something about it.

OMG 12 apples-how was your poor tummy?
Have a great day

It was my experience that there is some fat that is just so locked in that it just doesn't metabolise no matter how much glucagon, metabolise fat hormone released during low blood sugar) is floating around in your body. So you very realistically have some fat around your tummy that just wont go away!

Asy I believe experienced it towards the end, so did Peter and I certainly did in the last stage of the plan. The last stage is hard.

Maybe you had a "ohwhattheheck I deserve it" couple of days, or maybe you really got profoundly hungry (or both), I believe you need to take notice of that bone deep hunger because if you are not metabolism fat to supply energy, your body will turn to metabolising proteins which means muscle loss to supply the energy gap between input and output.
