Thanks Asy - that's not what my clinic told me. I suspect each clinic has a different line on lots of things depending on their experiences and those of their clients.

Panda
whatever the experience or line the clinics may have, they do not set the diet or food amount as Asy stated- I trust you will note that for future posts

Panda, as Mark said, they may have different lines (as in what they tell people) but I can tell you, categorically and without equivocation, they do NOT send ANY exercise information to Dr Cohen, and it is NOT taken into account in any programmes.

Tomatoo

Have you seen discussion around here of "the Zone"? It is where most of us end up 5 to 10 days after doing our actual eating plan (as opposed to pre-Cohens which is what you are doing). Follow the plan 100% and those thoughts do go away. Trust me - people would not stay around on this program if they didn't! It is one of the best parts of the program and why it works

i will just say: a three hour training session is going to seriously disturb your blood sugar levels- your program will not take any exercise into account
as such, if you continue to train at this level you can expect cravings, hunger, mood disturbance, dizzyness, possible blackouts
the decision is yours
if you follow the program 100% you will be fine and you will lose weight
cheers

So let me get this straight....
You are following an eating program you have devised yourself and following an exercise program not endorsed by Dr C.
Are you in the right forum?

tomatoo
ff and the rest of the forum are as supportive as they can be. BUT, you are not currently following an approved program, you are exercising and you appear to me to be questioning the whole concept
this forum is here to support people who are on the program, are considering the program, have done the program
you are welcome to continue and will be supported in doing the program - we are not here to support people doing other programs
you are an adult and it is your choice to decide to do or not do but dont blame anyone else for your decisions, and dont accuse this forum of not being supportive of your decisions when they do not accord with the forum principles
cheers

A really quick comment, as I am currently overseas, but, just for information, I have banned Tomatoo because it's just NOT forum ettiquite to go around deleting your posts because people don't agree with you... HOW RUDE!

Tomatoo, if you wish to be reinstated, please let me know that you intend to play nicely via PM.

someone said to me that i'm in the wrong forum and it upset me. i'm waiting for my eating plan (it should arrive today i think) and i discussed my current exercise with the clinic and they said its ok. that's all. so when it was implied i shouldn't be here i got upset and said that i felt unsupported. i wasn't referring to the whole forum, just the comment because it hurt my feelings. i didn't delete my posts because you guys disagreed, i deleted them because i felt too exposed and wanted to disappear under a rock. i was never rude or insulted anyone. you say that i'm so "RUDE" for deleting my posts but by banning me (when I was neverswore or anything like that) - is doing exactly what you accused me of doing. silencing me. i didn't come on here to annoy anyone or question anyone, just to talk the program over so i can get as much information as possible before i start for real - any day now. thanks.
in the interest of fairness, please don't delete this post. you shouldn't silence me if i havent done anything wrong.
(i'm not going to hang around when you guys want me gone. i just felt it fair that i get to respond so i had to come back like this. i'll go now.)

Hi Tom

I just wanted to stop by and apologise for any hurt and subsequent fall out my post on this thread may have caused.

It was written on the spur of the moment and fuelled by my own struggles and issues on the programme. I did not mean to cause any offence or want you to feel unsupported on this forum.

As far as I can see everyone elses posts were constructive and trying to help point you in the right direction. Please don't take one persons comments to heart. They were not meant at a personal level.

Hi Tomatoo,

I can only guess you are new to "forum style discussions". Certainly you don't seem to be comprehending the worth of the replies. Your opening remark today is this :-
Quote:
someone said to me that i'm in the wrong forum and it upset me.
Read Forfreddie's comment, and you'll see that is not quite true !! She asked if you are in the right forum.... You chose to get upset about it!! Next time, take a deep breath, and question WHY they wrote that - you may well learn a bit more.

Forums can be quite straight-talking, Tomatoo - and, for many who "want to hear it straight, without the BS, and from those who are already walking the walk", then it's all here for you.

But, it also requires a "chill pill" now and then, and perhaps a re-read before replying - as even I get a bit "hot under the collar" upon first reading a post, only to find that I missed reading an important word, or that THEY inadvertently misspelled something that gave quite the wrong impression - happens all the time. Next time, take a deep breath, and endeavour to read any reply as though it were to "someone else".

The Edit function is for people to correct spelling mistakes, or add a few more thoughts after the fact. After 24 hours have gone by, the Edit function disappears, thus locking the data in place.

It is NOT there for people to delete data en masse, which then leaves any replies looking around for something to relate to, and SPOILS the "run of the thread".

Whatever you choose to do, I wish you luck. If you wish to stay around, you will be supported (as before - look at all the sterling replies you DID receive - no BS, just stuff for you to think on, and all from "people's own experience"). The support IS there, Tom - but if the answers don't suit you, then question them, challenge them (the answers, not the people), accept them, or, choose to ignore them. It's all valid.

Just don't delete posts should you choose to stick around - it's against the Rules !!

Koh

Hi Kohinoor,

Thanks for your post. Your right I did receive a lot of really good replies and I was and am really grateful for them.

I was thinking about this (can't get it out of my head). Usually when I get upset I eat sweets! And for the very first time in my life I'm breaking that habit and losing that crutch and I guess I'm feeling extremely vulnerable this week especially.

I don't want to be talking about myself all the time but thought I'd share this as some other people may be able to relate.

I'm sorry for breaking the rules, I didn't realise. I did read the rules but sounds like i didn't get it all. I was thinking along the lines that my posts were part of me and I just wanted to delete them and disappaer. Was wishing the whole thread could be erased so I could feel like it never happened.

And yep I've probably got lots to learn. I'm 19 and I recently moved to a new town with a new job without friends/family.

So sorry for upsetting the harmony. Peace.

In future i'll stick to reading (guest) not posting, I don't have a thick skin!

Tomatoo: Please give the forum anoother chance and let us support you. This forum is generally very supportive and polite and it would be a shame to do without the help and advise when you need it.

Good luck.

Hi Tomatoo,

Good on you for sharing a bit more. Certainly it helps for US to get a bit more perspective about YOU too...

Quote:

I think I read you were starting (or had started?) on Cohens - if so, that will likely have you "more tender than usual" as you go through those early days (just check ANY diary where people are starting out). It is usually only the first few days - but, you need to hang tough and stick to Plan, then the "sun comes out" and all just feels so much better.... ask the others.

Good on you for facing up to the start without that "crutch", too. Don't under-estimate just how important that is - it is a mighty move on your part, and is to be congratulated !!

Quote:
I don't want to be talking about myself all the time but thought I'd share this as some other people may be able to relate.
I'm pleased you DID share a bit more, Tomatoo - and I'd be prepared to bet there will be several heads nodding as they read how you are feeling right now.

Have a read around, by all means - I'm sure you will see "the feeling" on here is one of support. Your case was a little unusual (not YOUR problem, but a little out of OUR norm...) so we need to understand you a bit more too, I reckon.

Feel free to share whatever you wish - hopefully you, too, will have the "unheard of" results that so many have had (tried EVERYTHING - then found Cohens - and it WORKS!!)

Hi Tom..

Please don't give up on the forum.. just went a little weird haha.. life is like that sometimes.. everyone here is very supportive and once you have your program it will be so much easier to understand where each other is coming from.. Glad you didn't eat those sweets over it all (definately not worth it)

We'll toughen and tighten that skin yet.
