Default Re: The Tourniquet Challenge: 10 kilos in 8 weeks 23rd April to Sunday 17th June, 201

G'Day

OK, today is Thursday and here is the participant list to date (in alphabetic order):

Not everyone has provided a starting size but that’s OK, everything will be looser by the end of the Challenge

Remember that this Challenge is simply about your Weekly/ Monthly Progress and about our clothes fitting us better.

It is NOT a thread about daily eating or deviations or any other part of our progress, that’s what our Diaries are for

From Tourniquet to Terrific, here goes:

ajsander ... size xx ... weight 79.90
Bernie11 ... size 12 ... weight 77.75
MaggieLyn ... size 12 ... weight 83.90
Myf ... size 14 ... weight 71.50
toothfairy ... size 14 ... weight 84.25
zq1104511 ... size 14 ... weight 79.10
Kristine ... size 16 ... weight 75.80
time4it2go ... size 16 ... weight 85.00
Vivo ... size 18 ... weight 91.70
Michmac ... size 18 ... weight 99.40
Buckebunny ... size 20 ... weight 98.00
cobie_lee ... size 24 ... weight 149.30
hawaii5-0 ... size 26 ... weight 133.00
BellaandMeg ... size xx ... weight 63.50
Rochy ... size xx ... weight 78.50
Theajoy23 ... size xx ... weight 69.00

Entries x 16 (Late entries are welcome to join, please provide weight & size at starting date Monday 23rd April)

Total weight at commencement: 1,419.60 kilos!

Remember to post up your Monday weight each Monday and I shall have the running totals posted by about Thursday of the week following

Steady as she goes!

Kristine
By the way, I can't format this to be any 'neater' as the system is designed to remove any surplus white space, hence trying to space off the data with dots and spaces, but it can be read even without columns so this format does the trick regardless!

Hi Kristine,

Try using Courier font, as was used on the old fixed-spacing typewriters and things.

Each character then takes up the same amount of room, whether an "i" or a "w" - it gives you this (after a play around with more dots) :-

ajsander ...... size xx ... weight 79.90
Bernie11 ...... size 12 ... weight 77.75
MaggieLyn ..... size 12 ... weight 83.90
Myf ........... size 14 ... weight 71.50
toothfairy .... size 14 ... weight 84.25
zq1104511 ..... size 14 ... weight 79.10
Kristine ...... size 16 ... weight 75.80
time4it2go .... size 16 ... weight 85.00
Vivo .......... size 18 ... weight 91.70
Michmac ....... size 18 ... weight 99.40
Buckebunny .... size 20 ... weight 98.00
cobie_lee ..... size 24 ... weight 149.30
hawaii5-0 ..... size 26 ... weight 133.00
BellaandMeg ... size xx ... weight 63.50
Rochy ......... size xx ... weight 78.50
Theajoy23 ..... size xx ... weight 69.00

Hey thanks Koh

Wouldn't have thought that changing the font would change the kerning and wouldn't have thought the kerning would help with the layout - but it obviously has so I shall use that format throughout this Challenge

We are all aiming for a neater presentation and fit, so we may as well start with the presentation and fit of the Challenge itself!

Cheers

Just thought I'd pop in and say I am right on the borderline of 10-12, 12's too big, 10s too small.

Just trying something....

ajsander ...... size xx ... weight 76.30
Bernie11 ...... size 10 ... weight 72.00

Hmm, well it sorta works - I just copied two lines from that initial post (just select and Ctrl/C) then pasted it into this reply, fiddled with the numbers a bit, BUT then I needed to re-select the Courier Font as it has defaulted to Verdana.

So it works, and it does save a helluva lot of re-typing !!

Hey, Thea

Good to hear you sounding so upbeat and on top of it!

Day 5 eh, it doesn't take long to adapt and adjust

Koh, thanks for the formatting - I also noticed that even though I had 'sorted' the names the sorting hadn't travelled well, so I shall resort into A-Z for next week's report

BellaandMeg, thanks for the sizing, I shall include that with next week's summary

Keep checking the redmarks around your waists, Happy Cohenites, for they will soon be gone!

Cheers

START OF WEEK TWO: MONDAY 30TH APRIL, 2012

Morning All Tourniquet Challengers and thanks to those for the early reports today

My Start Weight ..... 75.80 kilos with Tight size 16 jeans
Start of Week Two ... 75.40 kilos ... 0.40 kilos loss

Jeans still tight – but can wear them all day without discomfort. Am I shrinking or am I just getting used to the jeans?

Going out tomorrow night so washed the Millers size 14 – bet they slip every time I walk around! I shall have to wear a cotton singlet and tuck it in to stop the size 14s from falling down. Not ready to wear the braces again as yet!

I look forward to reading your various weight losses and will post up a summary later in the week when everyone has reported in

Keep up the good work! Feel those tourniquets start to loosen, millimetre by millimetre!

Cheers
Kristine

So week two of the challenge, I have to confess that I haven't been DF. But am I ready to take ownership of that, and start over and focus on being DF for the next 6 weeks. So after a blowout, My weight today was 76.85kg, a loss of 0.9. Next week should see me lose even more once I get 'in the zone'. Good luck everyone as we continue to blast our muffin tops.

My Start weight was 83.9
Week 2: my weight was 84.6 (gained 500grms) weighed on Saturday, which is my weigh in day.

I am not getting on the scales again until this coming Saturday, I feel I have had a very good week, but the weight went up, putting it down to wrong amounts on refeed and also taken antiflam medication which I know causes me to retain fluid. Adjusted my food quntities today and drunk heaps of water, I just know I will have a good loss this coming week!!
I see some of you have had some fantastic losses, have a good week everyone.
Cheers Marg

OK - My Monday weight was 96 k's -- that's a 2kg loss for me - I'm stoked ... but I did have a touch of a tummy bug over the weekend.

I also tried on my old size 18 jeans.
I'm in them - but yep they are tourniquet tight.

Looking forward to reading everyone's results !!!

Hi everyone!
Start of challenge: 133 kgs
Today's weight: 130 kgs
I can take off my size 26 jeans without unsnapping or unzipping them, so I went out and bought a size 24. I'm happy with that!!
Keep up the great work, everyone!!
