Yes, probably getting up early caused the gain, Louise. I hope you will be able to sleep in tomorrow, and lose it again.

Snugglebear, you shouldn't have any problem reintroducing soy sauce. You need to be more careful with sugar on a regular basis. However, I'm still a sweet tooth and don't want to keep using artificial sweeteners (which are okay). I'm using rapadura sugar (from health food stores, unrefined sugar and not so sweet) in small quantities daily without adverse effects.

Default Day 7

Day 7 Almost halfway

wt 66.8kgs 100gms up from yesterday

I wanted to weigh a bit later this morning but bf had kindly made me coffee so I had to jump out of bed and weigh before I had the coffee.
I had 3 slices of bread yesterday, I was feeling a bit uncomfortable in the stomach, not sure if it was the extra food of the result of all that bread. Took me ages to eat a tuna sandwich for lunch - previously that would have seemed like a small meal. I think I might just have crackers today and see if I feel better.

Yesterday morning I went opened the microwave and found some of my veges which I had accidently omiited to have the previous evening- and I hadnt even noticed!

AJ not sure if the weight increase is the early start or the increased bread etc, Ill be interested to see how I go today without bread.

Hexi and Loulou, thank you for your welcome, it nice nice to have the extra food and strangely scary after the months of small quantities.

Fair rose a, sorry I missed your post, I think we posted at the same time, you may be right they jumped me up more quickly, I think I will slow the bread down a bit.

Jo the watermelon was just lovely. I asked bf to cut some up for me and he dut out the nicest part from the centre of the melon and it was just delicious! I dont miss soy soauce but would love some chocolate, there are actually sugarfree chocolates you can buy that taste just like the real thing!

Well I hope I have missed the morning chaos. Yesterday it took me 2 hours to travel what is normally a 15minute drive due to road works, an accident and flooding, hopefully today will be better, I have left my trip a bit later to avoid the morning traffic!

Have a great day everyone and I hope the scales are with you!

Hi Louise

I'm glad to see that you are still travelling along well on refeed.
Hope you feel better just have the CB today instead of the bread.
It must be such a good feeling that the end is now in sight!

Hope you have a fab day!

Vee

Louise, you can always have the coffee, then subtract a couple of hundred grams when you weigh.

I only had one sandwich on refeed, found it too much for one meal. Yesterday at the winery they were catering for a wake, ribbon sandwiches everywhere. I realised now I would be able to eat a lot of sandwiches, probably just as well I was back on Cohen's.

AJ, even before I started cohens I had decided that bread didnt agree with me very well, I thought I would just do it as it was part of refeed, but maybe it is something I need to keep for occasional use
I like your idea about allowing for the weight of the coffee- I might emply that next time I get offered early morning coffee

Vee, I feel better just having made the decision to have a bread free day! - I thnk its because I just know I will fell more comfortable today!

Hey there skinnybum

Hope the crocs aren't circling your house. Not that you would be much of a meal for them now anyway.

I have already decided that bread is not going to become part of my usual diet ever again. The odd bit of toast perhaps but I was never a real sandwich kind of girl anyway. I am looking forward to rice again though.

(AJ - thanks for the good news about the soy sauce)

Keep up that great work darlin'

Jo

Hey pretty lady! Good to see that you haven't washed away!
Which kind of bread did you use? I had some really adverse effects to Woolies wholemeal bread because of the preservatives, but Burgens rye bread doesn't give me trouble. I'm not doing the 3 slices, though, because it makes me feel bloated. I think I'll mainly stick with CB in future.
I'm glad refeed is going so well for you! Keep up the great work!

Louise, like you pre-Cohen, I mostly avoided bread because I thought I was wheat intolerant. Through refeed I made my own bread and ate every piece I was allowed, with no adverse reactions at all. I don't eat bread very often anyway, usually only when it's part of a meal out or we have guests. However, I suspect, like Mette, that it's the additives in food that disagree with me rather than the wheat.

I agree wholeheartedly about the bread....I was rarely eating it even before Cohen's....it was Kel that was addicted to it! I doubt I will ever get back into eating it much. I feel so much better without it.

Sounds like you are really enjoying all the new goodies Louise...good on you!

Glad to hear that bf of yours is looking after you!

Hope you had a better run into work this morning...I can remember getting stuck on that road for hours due to accidents, its a pain there is not another access road open yet.

Keep powering on gorgeous girl

Would you believe I couldnt eat all my dinner tonight and had to leave some on my plate, I didnt see the point of absolutely stuffing myslef, I dont want to stretch my stomach and go back to where I was. I will just take it slowly, even if it means I stretch out my refeed a bit more- I think it is too important. I had had a lot to drink before dinner but I was not going to be stupid!

Mette that was an interesting comment as yes it was in fact the woolworths wholegrain bread and you reminded me that I had been happily eating and enjoying the burgen bread in the past. I might give it a try!

AJ i might try the burgen , though I do have a bread maker so that might be worth a try as well.

Skinnybum yourself Jo! No crocs at the moment though I wouldnt wade out into the billabong! Apart they are a bit of a problem up in Ingham. I heard of someone in Ayr with Eels swimming around in their yard.

Asian you look like your not too far behind me!

Dedee, there is no sign of any other roads, I went to work after rush hour this morning so apart from the usual delay for road works it was much better, though bf took an hour. I have to face the rush hour traffic for an early appt tomorrow so gues Ill have to allow heaps extra time!

Must go and watch grays anatomy.

Have a great night everyone

Louise, if you decide to make your own bread, don't start with one of those bread mixes. I haven't looked at the ingredients, but I'm assuming there must be more than just flour and yeast in them or why have them?

Smile Day 8 - no change

Day 8

Weight 66.8kgs no change.

Well Im pleased to see that I didnt get a gain since yesterday, I am still feeling a little uncomfortable in the stomache, I am attributing it to the bread still - I feel like I have a hard ball of bread just sitting there. I will try the burgen bread next, I had no bread yesterday, i didnt have a problem previously when I was eating burgen daily.

AJ I will have a look at the ingrediants in the gread mix, however firstly I might try the burgen.

For the last week or so I am noticing Im a bit giddy if I get up quickly, I must be experiencing some postural hypotension, i keep forgetting to get up slowly - I must get my blood pressure checked. I suspect it has dropped considerably with the weight loss.

I went for a run/walk yesterday and really enjoyed it. It feel so much better to run now that I am lighter and my boobs are smaller. It must be much kinder on my knees.

Well still raining here, must get back to work.

Have a great day everyone!

I bet your knees are thanking you!

How funny we both had that reaction to the Woolies bread! I hope the Burgen goes a lot better for you! Otherwise, as AJ said, try making it yourself. I have to admit though, I don't plan to have bread as a huge part of my diet, and I've only been having one piece a day all the way through refeed. Don't think my tummy would like any more.

Stay strong and keep smiling pretty lady!

Default Our daily bread

Mette I was very grateful that you mentioned the woolies and burgen bread as it really rang true. On a preivious diet my daily breakfast had been grilled cheese and tomato on burgen bread for breakfast every morning and I just loved it - really missed it and I never had these problems when I had it. Ive just had that very thing for lunch and it was so yummy. I also bought a bread mix with no preservatives today. I just got home from the supermarket and the shelves were a bit sparce so I thought it might be a good idea to keep it in reserve. I think however I will definitely tread warily with the bread!

My tummy seems to be settling now so I think the bread free day yesterday did the trick, plus my weight remained stable this morning. I wonder if I will see it drop a bit now I have got rid of that other bread.

Well still raining, just got home to do some office work, I had better get onto it!

Big hugs everyone!

Louise, I found I would get giddy as I dropped weight without decreasing my water (hint from my consultant). I initially drank 4 litres of water a day, found I needed to drop 1/2 litre every 12 kgs or so. Perhaps you could try decreasing water by half a litre and see if that helps.

Glad you worked out the bread mystery, Louise.
I too am not a big fan of bread and won't be rushing it back into my diet.
But thanks to you and Mette, I'll be using the Bergen bread when I get that far.

Glad you are still surviving the rain andnot being washed away!

You must be almost half way your refeed now!

Keep going well!

Great tip about the bread Louise - and AJ and Mette

Burgen sounds like it is the way to go! I am interested to know if you see an increase at all from it, but from others diary's, usually there are no effects!!

Have a great weekend
