Hi ed,
good work. I would think the taste bud thing is like the dreams, just messing with you. But if you find out I would love to know. For now I would be liking it because I really having trouble with the liking of my food.

And Yes! an egg! I didn't realise I forgot to put that in. LOL. They were really nice but I love zuccini slice, but I normally put bacon, cheese, corn and carrot in them before cohen's. Though I think I put to much pepper in it. It was tingling the tongue hehe.

anyway I stopped by to see how you are going
keep up the great work.

xoxo

Thanks Jazzi.
No more "strange" tastes but sometimes i can just smell things - the other day it was potato salad and all yesterday afternoon i could smell hot milk on wheatbix.

I really enjoyed my crackers with lunch (chicken, asparagus, onion, zucchini, mushroom stir fry), after day 10 i'm not having the 6 crackers as i normally forget and it would throw out timing to have them with meals by the time i remember.

Day 20 plodding along, almost at the end of week three - when i was just starting and reading diaries that were XX days into it it seems so far away but, again, time passes if you are on cohnes or not so get on board!

I'd like to get to the brissie get together on sunday but, alas, will be working this weekend.

My "six months" is the 10th December and i hope i am well and truely done by then, not that i mind the food, or even the extra preperation but it will be so good just to reach goal.
Speaking of goal - it still seems so far away and unrealistic. The lightest adult weight i have been was after i had a megga combo of glandular and ross river back in 1999 and goal is 10-15 kgs under that! At the time i was skinny skinny until my apetite returned and i put 10kgs back on to my "normal/ healthy for my size" weight (which will be 25kgs heavier than goal!)
Enough rambling.
Ed

I'm hearing you Ed! I'm on...hhmmm...damn I forget what day...like Day 12 or something like that and I totally hear you when you say goal seems so far away! But like you said above...time passes either way...and before you know it you'll be finished and I won't be that far behind you

Hi Ed! So disappointed also that you are working on the weekend. The personal catch ups are awesome and when I just started and attended my first luncheon Phillida was there. She had completed refeed and was on maintenance and was such a source of encouragement. Check out her photos and story in maintaining the new you section.

Yes, it seems so far away at the moment but if you stay committed to your plan, and do everything you have to do the body will respond and then next thing you know you are in refeed. Where I am today. Totally awesome and it s so worth it. See you at the next get to gether Ed. Narelle

Hey Ed! Well done - 1.8kg in one week is never 'ONLY' in my book ! It is 1.8kg less than what you were 6-7 short days ago! Enjoy and feel proud of yourself - you are doing so well!

Hey Ed,

I lost 1.8 kgs last week too and I was disappointed but the week before was only 1.4 so I was thinking it was alright. I know it's not as much as others but I have taken the advice of someone else on here (sorry, can't remember which wise soul that was) that this is our own journey. When you add it all up it seems much nicer I find.

You are doing a really good job mate, keep it going! We will both get there in the end!

Indy xx

I think we all go through the *how much further?* thing but after the first month it really does start seeming so much more attainable.
Like Mark said just keep going. When you look back at goal you will wonder where the time went!

All the things we all experience on our journeys are all very important steps we have to take. I believe they are lessons for us to learn how, why and what got us here in the first place and the more we learn the better we become.

Emotions are enlightening
enlightening gives you insight
insight give you knowledge
and
Knowledge is POWER!

keep up the great work. We all have our slow weeks. You are doing great!

Hi Ed,

Well I've just caught up on your diary and you are doing a fantastic job! Don't you just love the food dreams. I laughed when I read about yours - you definitely had me going

I know sometimes the weight loss seems to be lower than you would like but look at this way in total that is 9.8kg since the 9th June and that is a huge effort. It all adds up in the end so keep doing what you are doing cause it definitely working!!

Looking forward to sharing this journey with you.

BTW - I loved your DD's birthday cake! Good job

xx

Grr - I just wrote a long reply and lost it.

Thanks all for dropping by. I had Thursday/ friday off work and spent all that fencing and am working the weekend.

Kenga - i am taking a holistic approach and will rely more on the 4 week weigh in. I was wondering this morning how quickly 'we' couild gain the weight if we were trying to - how much crap would we have to eat to gain a few kg's a week!

Mark - Thanks for dropping by. I'm trying not to weigh too often and am not phased by the scales but am trying to use them as an indicator - I think the small loss last week may have been attributed to the fetta i had the day before. You are an inspiration!

Jazzi and Indya - you both have a way with words that is exactly what i need to hear at the right time, and all the other diaries i have read with your support are great to, You make a great cheer squad!
Hi Violet6, i had a HUGE deviation dream the other night and thought it was real (kicking myself) until i realised i hadn't beed anywhere. i love the 'mess with your head' stuff - it should be a selling point for Cohens.

GO TEAM!,
Ed

Thanks Shell, I'm in with the big (shrinking) kids now!

For the few days i was without the forum it made me realise how much help it is - the daily fix does keep the motivation up.

All good here, looking forward to thursday - well not the blood test so much - but the 4 week mark. Yipee.

Hope everyone else is going grat guns, Ed
Oh - i mis-typed last meek: it was only 1.3 not 1.8 for the week but so be it. That was last week and i'm moving on!

Woo hoo, welcome to the big kids' playground, Ed!

Congrats on almost making it to the 4 week mark, not so congrats on the blood test I hate blood tests!

Also, I am stoked if I get anything over 1kg per week - but any loss is a good loss, as long as the scales aren't moving in the wrong direction!

Thanks BB.
It is freaking freezing!!! I know it has been a colder winter that we have had but lordy lou! I know others have said about feeling cold on Cohens and, as i don't usually feel the cold, I'm feeling it baby!

Ticker time tomorrow and it's been agood week me'thinks.

It amazes me that, although it a loooong way yet, the time passes and i am glad the i am on the programme and can already look back and feel acclomplished that 'i've done that already'. I think starting the change is among the hardest parts of the trip and everything else seems easier.
If i have caught myself thinking ' thats xx kg's lost, and i'm feeling okay' i just grab ahold of my still flabbier bits (gut, thighs - yes ladies i have a big (shrinking) butt and thighs too - for a guy)and that gives me the motivation i need to continue knowing it's all got to go!

Hope everyone is doing well.
Ed

Know what you're saying Ed. I've been having frozen toe syndrome every day. it's a good thing that part of my uniform i get to wear thick socks and boots. Thank gawd for small mercies. Good luck with your weigh-in.

Hi Ed,

I see you are going great guns at this and yes isn't it great to look back and think of how much that really is? I like to try to hold in my hands the equivalent of what I have lost. It is scary when you are holding 15 bags of sugar. LOL.

I haven't been feeling the cold. I am feeling quite warm actually. This worries me a bit because I wonder if I'm not doing something right? b/c everyone else seems to talk about being cold alot and I'm feeling the opposite. My DH is normally the one that stays warm and calls me a sook when it's cold, but we have swaped this winter.

good luck with you weigh-in tomorrow.
