Red face Re: Round 2 - and here we go again

Hi

Not sure what it was but I had the best sleep ever last night - had to get up and go to the toilet at dumb o’clock but that’s becoming the norm.

It’s been freezing lately and wet - I’m not use to getting up to 3 degrees but that’s going to be my reality for the next 3-4mths. I went to the movies last night and saw the latest avengers movie and the popcorn smelll almost drove me to drink it was divine - my super cold water soon snapped me out of that and I went to the loo 3x in the space of one movie.

Week 6 is over tomorrow and week 7 starts so I will weigh and see what fun my body has in store for me. Can’t wait - I’m still 100% DF and loving it

Just

Hi

Week 6 has come to a close and I’m now 135.8kgs so mid 130s. I just noticed my bmi is under 50 yippee!!!

It doesn’t feel like it’s been a whole 6wks - in fact I feel like it’s only been a couple but goodbye to 16kgs and more importantly I get my 3rd charm - yuss👍

From my calculations that’s another 2.1kgs gone this week long may it continue - but nervous about the bus trip I’m going on on Friday but I think all that will happen is I will get to bed later than usual - I might leave a crispbread till late and hopefully that wards off the hanger pangs - eeek

I am part of a FB group and every day without fail I see people deviating and self sabotaging their efforts- this could be people who started a couple days before, a couple weeeks before to people that have lost 40kgs. I don’t see the point of paying so much money to turn around and not commit 100% because it’s not that long that you have to stick to the guidelines. I don’t post my losses anywhere but in here but it’s draining watching people constantly falling off the wagon - so much so that I log out of FB 😳. I need to stay in a positive frame of mind or this is going to get really really hard

Hi Just,
Quote:

I recall reading on here of others who were also on Facebook, and they even left the FB group completely. I can't post a link, but a Search might yield some results.....

You're so right when you say you need to stay positive. It would be pretty damn hard otherwise. You are steaming along, and I admire the way you find new things that you couldn't do before, or add a tweak to your thoughts from some new experience on this journey. That is the way to keep strong, and you're doing awesome.

Big congrats on your wins so far. The signs are really good for you to be fully completed in less than one year. If you want to feel really good, take the case of someone I heard of (on here) who was doing some other program, and they were THRILLED to trim off 18Kgs in ONE YEAR !!!

You're on the fast track, Just. So long as you don't try to make it even faster, and just enjoy your new body daily as it trims, the year will go by quickly, and you'll have a whole new lease of life.

Meanwhile, with 16Kgs down, use your gains so far to enervate yourself - here's a couple of thoughts. Fill a suitcase with 16Kgs of stuff (books are really good at being heavy! ) then try to pick it up. Or find 16litres worth of containers (maybe a 10litre water container plus a few more). One litre of water is 1Kg, so 16 litres of water is what you want (for now). Maybe stick them in a backpack and wear them around for - hmmm, I dunno, perhaps 3 seconds is enough??? You get the idea.

Pick up what you've lost, and you'll soon want to put it down again. You can quickly work out how much EASIER you have things now that 16Kg is GONE. Then project that feeling forward !!

Go Just,

Koh

Hi

I left the group - I actually took a bit of a read through most of it and I realised the successful ones are the ones that hardly post 😂 - I guess they are just getting on with it. The ones that post all the time are the ‘I did it again’ people but to each their own. It’s not easy when you first start but commitment should be at an all time high at the beginning (my own opinion) - first time for me was - I literally had to talk myself out of deviating, this time is much easier now I want to give at least one year of myself for a lifetime of benefit - a years not that long.

Today I feel bloated and it’s because (apologies Koh) ‘it’s coming back’ - my monthly left me 2yrs ago and now all my chemistry is going back to normal it’s coming back, I recognise the signs lol - damn!! I know I get hungry like ‘9mths pregnant and need mcdonalds’ type hunger, but it’s just another challenge I need to face - I recall weight loss slowed down for like a week but as long as it doesn’t slow for too long I’ll be fine.

Hi

I feel awful - crampy & bloated. Everything’s hard, water, eating & general moving. I’m still 100% DF and intend to stay that way but I’m also hungry for the first time since I started - I blame hormones.

I’m hoping this is just a one-off return type feeing and that it’s not going to be like this once a month for the whole duration cause it’s making things very difficult at the moment. I feel like eating a steak 😂 - stupid body chemistry

Hi Just,

Sure, why not, Just? Go cook up a nice piece of eye fillet and enjoy the hell out of it. And yes, I am serious - simply move your "Meal3" to become your first meal of the day. That is totally "legal" on the Cohens Plan.

Lots of people mix up there meals, and eating a larger meal earlier can help sometimes. Now might be one of those times for you.

It may mean you are left with only a Meal1 before bed, but get an early night anyway as you don't feel so much hunger overnight. And your HGH will be revved up extra early that night, perhaps leading to more shrinkage.

You are buying eye fillet for your beef meals aren't you? If not, I'd highly recommend it. You get so little while on plan, you might as well eat "the best" even if it is $40+ per Kg. That means probably less than $7 a meal - you're worth that, eh? But don't overcook it - Medium at most (or if you must, Medium/Well), but no more than that eh? It melts in your mouth at a Med/Rare or Med level.

Rock on Just,

Koh

Hi

That’s a good idea Koh I’m going to try it - so I went on my bus trip last night and completely munted my sleeping pattern. Got home at 4am, sober but starving - not a good feeling. Went to sleep pretty much straight away but woke up 2hrs later and had weet bix!!! WEET BIX?? Weet bix???? Then went back to bed - when I woke up which was 11am I sat on the side of my bed and thought - OMG did I actually have a bowl of weet bix?? I wasn’t even drunk

So there u go a deviation - wtf? Of all the random things to have? I think I was half asleep, no sugar but milk and weet bix? Half of me is like WTF did u do that and the other half is cracking up laughing.

My meal timing is absolutely shot today dinner is at 8.30pm now. I had Cohen’s lunch and have my Cohen’s dinner ready to go I just need to get my water intake up and can only move forward from here.

I’m sure my weekly weigh in will show me how much damage that did and I’m seriously going to consider what I’m going to do (socially) for the next couple months for sure. I guess there’s worse things I could of had then a bowl of weet bix lol

Hi

Much better day today and I put it down to my sleeping pattern has gone back to Normal - still have my monthly visitor and the cramps are still bad but it’s going to go soon so not long to put up with it. I’m still bloated and not hungry but eating on time. Nice relaxing day today binge watching a tv series and getting back into the zone

Hi Just,
Hang in there - the milk would've thrown your body into a tail-spin. But hold tight, and let your body sort itself out again. A nice quiet day is probably a good way to just "be" and settle back into your Cohens "bubble" once more.

How was the eye fillet?

BTW, one of your recent comments tells me you are likely to be from Chch, or the South Island at least.

I'm guessing, but there is good reason to think that.... I am a North Island Kiwi, and I had never heard the term "munted" until my Sis (who lives in Chch) used it to describe the events around the time of the earthquake a few years ago.

Apparently "munted" is in common usage in Chch - I don't know about the rest of the South Island. So, "Where're you from?"

Hi

Your right Koh - ‘munted’ is how I would still describe chc lol and I do live here. I’d never heard of a ‘lux’ before going to Southland lol.

Not sure where my mind was I reckoni was just so tired I reverted back to the norm - that morning anyways. I don’t usually have milk in anything but alas it happened ‘then and now’. I’m back on the straight and narrow and loving it. I mentioned I had to leave the FB group cause it was more negativity then anything else but it’s fine I don’t mind doing this solo (semi-solo!) cause it’s a personal journey anyways. I’ve weighed out all my meats till next payday and even bought frozen spinach - I didn’t even know it came frozen lol that’s how much I use to buy veges 😂.

Did my usual baking yesterday shortbread and it smelled delicious but since I’d deviated and stuffed up my usually perfect HGH levels - you could of held my mouth open with a vice and still wouldn’t of got me to eat it lol.

No more social late nights for me - at least through the winter months I’m also doing a digital detox, I haven’t even logged into FB, closed my Snapchat and logged out of FB messenger 😳

Hi Just
I love your positivity - and the self control regarding the digital detox. I think Cohens would be the easier for me out of those two.

You are so right about removing yourself from those who tend to deviate as to succeed with Cohens you need to be 100% behind the programme. The ability to stay true helps when the unexpected happens as you get into a routine which becomes natural and gets hard to break.

Sorry about the weet-bix blip - I remember having vivid deviation dreams like this so sorry to hear yours wasn't a dream but it seems you have it sussed and will take steps so you got get into that predicament again.

Keep up the good work and I look forward to following you on your journey.

Hi

Been a hectic week at work so far been up and down the country ugh!!!. I haven’t had a chance to weigh this week but I’m not worried - I’ve stayed true to the programme and I’m 100% sure the rewards will follow. I’m in week 8 now so offical weigh in next Wednesday.

I’m not sure I could handle a deviation dream lol. Lately I’ve been watching ‘fear the walking dead ‘😂 so zombie apocalypse dreams for me. We are expecting a rainy week ahead and thank goodness the travel for work has now finished (for now). It’s very challenging having scales and buying the right foods on the go - don’t want to do that and I found it hilarious that I would eat (on queue) in the middle of a meeting😂. I just explained that I ‘must’ eat at particular times - but didn’t say why - I’m sure people thought I had diabetes or something

I’ve seen my next charm - which I get to buy at a 20kg loss, it astounds me that I’ve lost >16kgs in 7wks and can’t wait till next weigh in

Wow - 16kg in 7 weeks - you must be on cloud nine

But it is no surprise when you have the determination to stay strictly to plan - good on you for eating on time during the meeting - I love your style.

It must be difficult managing the work/travel/cohen balance - I was/am lucky that i work from home so didn't have any disruptions/distractions to daily life other than walking past the kitchen/fridge every 10 minutes.

Hey Just, congrats on 16kgs gone!! Hormones suck. As soon as I'm hungrier than normal its pretty much always that. I always have a week out of the month when it feels like shovelling the proverbial uphill but the next week I see it's all worth it.

Wont be long and you will be at the 20kg mark. It never stops amazing me how quick this program works even with the occasional hiccup.

Hi

Yay for the weekend!! It’s been a long week and I haven’t managed to step on the scale yet but I’m happy to wait till my official week 8 weigh in. I haven’t got anything planned for this weekend thank goodness - Netflix it is - that’s the beauty of this programme not only do you get a precise measure of what to eat and when but there’s no strenuous exercise involved yippee!!!!👍

I’m still 100% and still super motivated

Hi

Not as rainy as I hoped today - I’ve been asked to join an indoor netball team but feel like I can’t. Short bursts of exercise will give me energy and make me hungry, which in turn will make me deviate - I’m not sure about anyone else but I can’t slwep when I’m hungry and I don’t want to muck up the timing, water and sleep I got going, the last game of the night is at 8.45 so I don’t want to come home and not be able to sleep cause I’m hyped up if that makes sense.

This won’t be forever and I like indoor netball it’s so fast and crazy but I know from past experience I’ll eat after the game - even if I’d finished my meals for the day ugh -

This week was actually really quick and I can’t beliece this is week 8? I took some photos and my stomach has deflated so much it’s scary to think I looked pregnant ahaha - I’m not!! Onwards and downwards all

I think it is smart to say No just now - but put your name on the waiting list for next year eh? Especially if that is something you love doing.

I would think once you're maintaining is the ideal time to "have a go" at it.

Meanwhile, keep on doing yourself good. You know you are, eh? Your knees must have noticed a difference already. I know when I pick up something heavy (around 20Kg or so) my knees do notice - indeed, so does my whole frame, breathing, heartbeat, etc. So putting it down again can only be good.

Hi

Yes definately my knees don’t ache at all when going up the stairs at work - and it was painful not so long ago. My work jacket almosts zips up lol - sounds ridiculous but that will be a win when it does cause it means I can hide more 😂.

I received a reply from my consultant after explaining my weet bix dilemma and she said ‘while she would prefer I was 100% aim for 80/20’??? I thought that was hilarious - I was thinking if I aim for 80/20 it will end up 80% deviation 20% Cohen’s - so I’m aiming for 100% and yes I fell off the wagon but don’t wanna justify by thinking ‘well that will fall into the 20%.

I think a better way to put it would be - you stuffed this one up but get back on the horse and keep going. That’s how I’m going to interpret the reply, which of course is what I’ve done.

Looking forward to another great week

Just

Wednesday is the end of week 8 and an official weigh in yippee - I actually can’t wait lol👍

Doesn’t matter what it says as long as it goes down I’ll be happy and it should, Ive only had the one incident so hopefully that didn’t affect things too much

Hope everyone has a successful week ahead

Unbelievable. Thank heaven you are made of sterner stuff than that Just. I think laughing at her inanities is probably a good way to go.

Good luck for Wed's weighin. I don't think the Weetbix itself is much of a problem - but watch out for the milk. The Lactose in it is sugar - milk used to get my old mate out of a Diabetes Hypo quicker than anything else did.
