p-kay,

Here is a spreadsheet that baloo created initially and I upgraded and revamped. I have just updated it for this year 2010 and reloaded on my website. You can download it (Excel file) and read the instructions tab and use it for your own usage. If you need any help in the modification just let me know. This file is available for all everybody who might want to use it for their own self-tracking and visual journey.

Hi SMS

that is an absolute great chart. I saved it to my desktop and changed the dates to suit me because I started on 7th Dec 2009 and it calculates the chart on the inside but not the daily average bits in the green. Can you please tell me how to change the formula or could you pretty please do one for me from the 7th Dec.

Cheers Bronnie

Thanks everyone, and thanks for the sea-salt link Fornight. Feeling OK now so I'll wait and see. I don't want to start adding salt to my food when I've done without all these years if I can help it.

Its great when we start 'thinking' differently and positively about the program - personally i think thats one of the 'golden' keys to unlocking success...if we continually reframe what we think of as a bad situation/scenario into another way of thinking about it - we become it!

Eg; for me i could have looked at myself as a failure for having to do cohens again, it doesnt work, its hard etc etc or beaten myself up about it..instead i call it my 'post graduate in cohens' and i am back to learn more about myself...

makes it a hell of a lot easier!

Hi Yummy Mummy

I Just wanted to say hi & say I started on the 1st January as well.

Like you I chose to wait until after xmas to start at a time when I was not going to find it quite so challenging.

By waiting until new year I could avoid facing all the tempting goodies at all the get togethers, parties, etc.

I figured that New Year, New Decade, New Beginnings, New Me!

Best of luck to us both, we're off to a good start .

Cheers, Dee

I hope I can lose that much in three months!

Yesterday was a nice day. Spent hours constructing train tracks with my son, and my prawn and cabbage curry was very filling and tasty. I never knew you could use crushed crackers as a thickener!

I have bags of clothes in 5 sizes under my bed and next weekend I'm going to start sorting them out. But I had a quick look through my current wardrobe and realised it's full of stuff that I hate, especially my work clothes. I convinced myself they were classics when actually they were frumpy. I bought what was in my size (not easy in Singapore!) and didn't think about whether it suited me. That will change.

I also decided that when I do a month or lose 10kg (whichever is first) I'm going to go to one of those eyebrow places and get my eyebrows professionally "done". I saw on Oprah that it can take ten years off you (yeah, right).

Just made soup for lunch (at Hexi's suggestion): chicken, veg and curry. Very nice, being hot I had to eat it slowly, and I crumbled 2 crackers and kept adding water so it ended up being a nice big bowl.

So, so far so good........

I can understand what you meant above. We just try to make-do with whatever fits us and NOT whatever suit us. IT WILL CHANGE!

Now I am more careful with my clothes purchase. I make sure it really flatters me before I buy it. It is a whole lot more fun but takes extreme effort to will power to control impulsive shopping.

I'll be interested to know how you get on with your image consultant, Fornight. I was thinking of making an appointment with a personal shopper when I go back to the UK in June, as a lot of the big department stores offer them free of charge.

All ticking along nicely here. The only issue is that my son has woken 3 nights in a row (he's got a cold) and has ended up coming in with me and then wriggling, chatting etc, so I'm really tired. Last night around 8, while getting him to bed so I could have dinner, I was almost collapsing with exhaustion.

GET A GRIP, KID. YOU"RE SLOWING DOWN MY WEIGHT LOSS

Thanks Missy.

Last night he was sniffling and crying to "sleep in Mummy's bed", so I said OK but I'll go eat dinner and come back and you can "read" your books. This usually means he falls asleep and I can stay up.

But not last night. He kept getting up and following me into the kitchen and I kept trying to explain that the more he delays me making dinner the longer it is till I can come to him (but he's too young to understand that). So husband and I ended up wolfing down dinner sitting on the bed with him, and then I lay down on the bed in the dark with him desperately trying to stay awake myself (so I can get the 1.5 hours before bed in). Luckily he did fall asleep, I didn't, and squeezed in another episode of "The Wire". He slept through till 7.45 when I leapt out of bed like a shot realising that if I didn't breakfast immediately it screws up all my timings (this being one of my teaching days).

The drink thing is SO interesting. From being a heavy drinker for the last 25 years (gulp) I just don't even think about it now. I've actually ordered Alen Car's book on how to control alcohol. Initially I'm thinking I don't want to stop (after Cohens) just be able to control it and drink moderately, but the reviews of the book say that after reading it you don't want to drink at all. And if you don't want to, why do it. I think on maintenance that is likely to be my big weakness, so I'll read the book and see what happens.
