Hi Shell, a few days ago, you asked a question :

Pandora did you get the easy bruising, back pain & hunger, or how did you work out it was time to start re-feed?
I want to go as far as I can.

No i didnt hear about easy bruising, back pain - only heard about HUNGER! So i didnt notice any easy bruising (i always did tho or back pain!). I did start feeling hungry when i was within my cohen range 52-55kg - started at around 55kg mark for me - but i kept busy, came onto the forum etc, ignored it as i wanted to get to 49kg so i could say i was in the 40's (how vain!).

I now think i put off refeed for too many weeks as i wanted to go so low. That can become counter-productive (as I have said more than once to AnnieM who has been around goal since Dec and still not on refeed! ) as you can end up living in an almost constant state of hunger, this can cause deviations etc as the program is not designed to do that at the end! That is why there is a rule about doing refeed within 4 - 6 weeks (cant remember exactly) of getting it.

My advice to others is to look in the mirror, listen to your body, talk to your clinic - they can SEE you, we cant! It is a very personal thing! Some people have the last few kg on their bellies (like i did and it was just FAT so even the last 2kg can come off!) others on their butts, some others might have flabby arms or still fairly large thighs etc and it can be that area that needs to trim down on the final stretch. That is why comparing measurements etc is okay but not the complete picture. I have a friend who is thinking of stopping at 56kg - her goal is 49-52kg as she is a shorty - her reason is she has lost it all on her face and upper body - people say wow you look so skinny (and she does after losing 14kg) but as she is italian she is still a bit lower hippy and her thighs are way bigger than mine, that would be her last place to lose! If i was her i would keep going but she is being "brainwashed" by all her now fatter family and friends, saying "you've lost enough!" Naked before the mirror never lies! Hope this helps! Pandora

Thanks for the encouragement & comments
It would be great if my clinic would ever get back to me, I emailed them last Friday and still not heard from them.
I am feeling more positive, so will take it one day a time
Back into it 100% today as I deviated on Sat night.
Have a good day

Well I have dropped 800g from yesterday
Unfortunatly it was drinking weight so I still have 1kg to get back where I was last week.
Not feeling as hungry and obsessed about the diet today- which is a great relief
At this stage I want to go as far as I can, will just see how it goes after my holiday.
I can't wait to go shopping as I don't have many clothes that fit anymore - tried to hang onto them as long as I could but the shorts just don't stay up any more & the tops are about 6 sizes too big!!!
What a problem to have
Have a good day everyone

Hi Shell… just saw your post in my diary!! Thanks for popping in! I am so glad that you are finding things easier at the moment! I would totally love to encourage you to keep going! For as long as you can! I remember Katrin saying that it was the last 4-5kgs that made a big difference in the way she looked and felt. If you can stick it out to Goal…You go for it! I am a bit bummed that I will be finishing before goal… but them’s the breaks! I’ll be back on it once I get back from hols.

In regards to BMI… on your ticker update page you should have a section that has Body Mass Index (optional) with places for you to put in your height? That way your BMI is recorded on your ticker…

Below 18.5 Underweight
18.5 to 24.9 Normal
25.0 to 29.9 Overweight
30 or higher Obese

Hope that helps!

Blessya

Well done, shell, 800 gms is amazing. You'll soon get rid of that 1 kg and be able to continue if you decide to do so.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Thanks Kannadew & AJ,
On my body fat scales at home I am at 27% - so still overweight!
But I will get there

Been reading some info Babytime sent me, so tomorrow I am thinking up some positive affirmations & goals I can print up and put around at work and here at home

I have never set myself any goals so that is what I am going to do!!

Only positive thoughts around here from now on= if I think it enough it WILL be true !

Just for information as i do think the body fat percentage is the "main game" rather than the number of kg on the scales ...

I started at 68kg (not big!) but at 36% body fat (obese for a little person!)

I am now 51. something!!! and 21.6% body fat - i STILL see body fat that needs "nuking" with healthy diet and exercise etc! I aim for 18%.

A good aim (i believe from ALL THE JARGON I HAVE READ !!) is to get around OR below 25% for women, so Shell, you are nearly there! And, the magic of body fat % is, IF you just lose fat (not muscle) each kg you lose can equal 1% fat! Case in point, I lost 16kg and 15% body fat! Cohens rocks! You go girl!

Oh... and BMI and Body fat are actually different... wasnt sure if you knew that based on your post!

My BMI is normal... but my body fat is still around 30%...so I still have a ways to go!!

Well done, Shell. You are doing so well, and getting so close. Pity we can't keep up the spectacular losses of the first week, but every 200 gms is a step closer to your goal, and the longer it takes the more the the lifestyle principles have to impregnate into your mind. Of course you'll get there, you're nearly there already. Could you have imagined this time last year that you could possible lose more than 40 kg in only 6 months?

Regarding the posts by pandora and Kannadew, I decided to educate myself more on the differences between BMI and body fat. I found this article interesting, thought others might too http://findarticles.com/p/articles/m...24/ai_n6203894. At the moment, my body fat reading is above 40%, but my waist measurement is only 36", which is reassuring for me healthwise. (Sorry to take over your diary, shell.)
