Just remember keep feta to once a week because of the salt content

Thanks Rettstar and Ali for the feta confirmation. Going to look for some nice recipes!

Well I broke and weighed myself and I have lost 500grams this week. Not too sad cause a loss is a loss right. I just hope it picks up next week. All in all 5kgs whoop whoop

Cannot believe that this is going to be my 3rd weekend on Cohens. My food has been very boring this week. I am going to have to really step it up. Going to do prawns again this weekend cause they are so yummy. Think I might try and coat them with provita and see how they come out. Also going to try smooth feta this weekend. So today food:

1. Breakfast - same old same old yog
2. Lunch - steak and salad
3. Dinner - either prawns or feta...see how I feel later

Have a great weekend everyone x

Morning everyone! Hope you had an awesome weekend! Mine was very busy so stuck on plan 100%. I tried to vary my food a little over the weekend and even had prawns for dinner on Saturday. They are really expensive here so they are a treat! Who knew a rice cake in your daily yog was so delicious. Will admit that I am loving my fruit and its hard to only eat 2! Today its back to basics:

1. Yog with coffee and stevia
2. Steak with salad
3. Mince with garlic and ginger wrapped in lettuce leaves

Have not weighed myself this weekend and I am going to try and stay away for the rest of the month!

Have a great day!

Hi Tan,

Well done another weekend on plan. 500gms is a good loss, your doing so well. I love the sound of your meals - 'Mince with garlic and ginger wrapped in lettuce leaves' sounds delicious, might have to try that this week.
Have you been craving anything? I was ok over the weekend, but a bit peckish last night after dinner, I resisted though.

Looking forward to next weeks weigh in I bet you get a good number.

Donzie I am craving everything at the moment but I think I am getting my period. Its so strange cause its not hunger but just a real craving for something yummy! It will pass. The weeks are better than the weekend. I went to birthday drinks on Sunday and it was hard being the only 1 not actually drinking. I felt kinda left out and left early. Was a bit down. Have to keep reminding myself that I am sick of being the fat woman amongst my friends! Just feeling a little sorry for myself. Absolutly pathetic that food and drink and the not having can play with my emotions! Then my whirlwind of my son came home and I have not had 5 seconds to feel sorry for myself! Also please excuse my spelling this morning.....

I weighed myself this morning just because I put on my kickers and they did not dig into me. What an awesome feeling. Took more bra and panty photos which will not be making their way to the internet hahahaha so another 400g. Very happy. Just a couple more kgs and I would have dropped a whole dress size. Had my first compliment yesterday. It was from my Mom but it still counts! She said she can see my face and arms are thinner. We had a laugh that the butt is always the last to get smaller!

While I was feeling sorry for myself over the weekend I realised that food and drink became my significant other. It was who I turned to everyday. I have been hiding for years behind my fat and somewhere along the line I lost my self. I have devoted myself 100% to my son and being a single mother that I forgot I also needed to be happy. WHOOOOOSSSSSHHHHHHHH a bit heavy for a Tuesday morning. Lets move on.

Last night I put some diet coke in my mince and the artificial smell while it was cooking was a bit offputting. Now this could be because I am coming up to my period and everything is a bit off. I was wondering if anyone has made a stock? I was thinking of some chicken breast, onion and celery, salt and pepper. Boiling it in water and then using the stock for cooking. Any thoughts?

Food today:

1. Breakfast: yog with a rice cake - so crazy good with cinnamon and stevia...yummy yummy
2. Lunch - mince cooked with mushrooms, tomato and onion on provita
3. Something with mince because I forgot to freeze small portions now have a huge defrosted amount!!

Finding my positivity again today and my ommph to carry on! Have a great day!

Hi Tan,

Sounds like it's been a hard week emotionally. I guess the extra weight we have been carrying has served us in many ways unconsciously, and the process of shedding it will be difficult at times. I think it is realistic to expect a few sad, angry and lonely days ahead. I just keep telling myself it's all part of it.

Regarding the social side of things, it is hard I know. It's hard to not disconnect with others when your the only one saying 'no thanks' at a party. Dieting + disconnect = depressing. I just hope it gets easier as we go along. I believe it does.

I'm so proud of you - 5kg gone, and your nearing your first month 'On Plan'. That my friend is bloody amazing. It won't be long until you drop a size either - it's happening!

Hi Tan,
Snap...just reached my first goal 5kg this morning too.
I was actually 100g off when I woke up at 4am..so went back to bed..and bam..made it yay!!
Congrats and 100% on plan to the next goal
Weight loss is an emotional journey and it brings up stuff we thought we have dealt with. That's why I'm back on my program again after getting to maintaining last year, then putting back on 13 kilos. Not brave like you to do a diary...so hope you don't mind me confessing on yours
Thanks and I look forward to you getting to your goals...well done!

Thanks guys! Thanks for the support! Donzie its so good realising I am not alone in this! ptake2 CONGRATS on your 5kgs whoop whoop! Tes I have booked a parrafin pedi for Saturday. Its going to take some work to get my hoofs looking good!!

Well last night the Nativity ended later than I thought! Only got home at 9.00pm so quickly fried up mince with garlic, tomato, onion, green pepper and mushrooms. Will admit to being a little sick of mince hahahahahaha going to make meatballs tonight for dinner and for lunch tomorrow. What ever is left over is going to the cat!! I also had to force myself to stay awake until 11.30 aaaggghhhhhh so tired!!

Feeling better today. Usually I use food and drink to make me feel better so when I couldnt I had a mini breakdown! My son and I have decided to stay at home around the pool this weekend and just relax! Try and do other things that feel good! Food today:

1. Breakfast - yog with rice cakes, cinnamon and stevia - new favorite
2. Lunch - dreaded tuna with tomato, onion and cabbage - sorry but had to force it down yuk
3. Meatballs in tomato

Jeans feeling looser every time I wear them whoop whoop

Have a great day!

Yep I know dem feelz for the tuna. I cycle through my cheeses twice a week for variety from tuna and tomorrow I'm having turkey for lunch.

On weekends I break out and get some different fish, like gummy shark or red snapper.

Add some spices to the tuna or maybe think about making tuna patties and eat them with your allowance of crisp bread?

well done on achieving your first goal!

Good for you - It is my favourite treat. I actually just bought one for each of my kids school teachers as their Xmas gift. Beats giving them biscuits! And they have been so good to my boys they deserve the treat too. ENJOY

Congratulations on reaching your first goal Tannalee - you are doing an amazing job!!

It can be hard for us mum's to put ourselves first, I know for me I felt very selfish for a while but then managed to wrap my head around the idea that I needed to do this program mostly for me but also so I could me a better mum and be around longer for my kids! Hanging by the pool with your son this weekend sounds like a great idea

Keep up the fantastic work!

Thanks guys! I still cannot believe that I am actually loosing the weight. I am feeling better in my clothes already. My friend popped round last night and she has bought me a beautiful dress in a size 10. It looks so small but she says that she is sure I am going to fit into it. It has become my motivation. I have hung it on my door so I can always see it. It is so pretty...something I would never ever have picked because of my size!

Last night I made meatballs in a tomato and mushroom sauce. It was very nice. I made 8 small meatballs put them in a dish, poured the sauce over and baked it for 30min. I also had kiwi yesterday. Forgot how nice those are. I took out steak last night so that is what I am having for the next couple of days. From now on when I buy meat I am going to cut it up into correct portions and freeze in separate bags. Will have to write the weight and date on to remember but at least then I can vary my protein in a day. So food today:

1. Breakfast - yog, coffee and stevia
2. Lunch - steak with salad
3. Dinner - steak with cauliflower

So busy at work at the moment. Why does everything start going wrong at this time of year?? Have a great day everyone!!

Are you enjoying getting organised?
Do you meal plan or do you turn up and stare at the fridge each night?

It definitely sounds like you're getting into the swing of things.

Actually Tan those meatballs are great to freeze too I have also made chicken meat balls from mincing the chicken - delicious with gem squash if you are looking for a good warm meal. I add the woolies curry powder to the gem squash so they arent too bland. Things are coming along nicely well done

Hi Tan,

Sounds like you are doing really well - keep it up!! I used to divide the protein into portions and freeze in zip-lock bags, doesn't take too long to thaw out and definitely helps with varying meals

Morning! So on Thursday it will officially be 1 month on the diet but my first weigh in is on the 6th. I weighed myself this morning and I am sitting on a 7.3kg loss. I still have a couple of days to make it to 8kgs. Very happy with my loss so far but keep wondering if it could have been more!! That 1 deviation....oh well!

This weekend was CRAZY. I craved from Friday all the way until Sunday. It was mad! My son and I relaxed at home and we were around food all the time. Every time my son got a snack or I made him food it hit me like a truck. It took all of my reserve not to climb into the chicken curry I made on Friday night (sons request). Also there was socialising with my neighbours where there were snacks and glorius drinks! BUT I did it. I made it.

I did experiment over the weekend. The first thing I made was a green pepper stuffed with mince. I did not use diet coke so it was very savoury and delicious. Its going to be a staple. I bought some huge expensive mushrooms and stuffed it with spinach garlic and feta and baked it. OMG is all I can say. The last thing was a beef stroganoff. Mince, mushroom, green pepper all cooked together and then mayo put on.......I thought I had died and gone to heaven! So quick and tasty! Also because I had time for breakfast on Saturday I made soft boiled eggs with asparagus and yesterday hard boiled on cracker bread. Urmmmmm maybe it was the fact that I enjoyed my food over the weekend that made me crave so much!

My food today:

1. Breakfast - yog with coffee and stevia
2. Lunch - steak with veg and provita
3. Mince strog

I did try really hard to bag and freeze portions but did not get around to actually doing any cooking. The cooking of the 3 meals a day is getting hectic. I think I used every dish and frying pan over the weekend!!

Hope everyone has a great day!
