Came by to see how you are going. And fantastically by the looks of it. 24kgs in 11 weeks. I am sooo jealous . Seriously well done, that is a super dooper fantastic effort. Same with your daughter too. I have heard horror stories about mamograms too. Like slam your boob in the car door, drive over it with the car when freezing cold, things like that. Doesn't make me want to go have one Though I know they are a necessary evil just like pap smears. Happy losing Katie |

HI
Hi HBS,
I been reading your diary but have not posted till now. You are doing so great and looking fantastic too!! Funny when I first read your diary I thought it said Hervey Bay STINKER......and thought what a weird name....DDAH, read it properly after a few times,,,SHRINKER is much better. Glad the mammogram went well, not alot of fun, but I think it depends on the person doing them, Ive had bad, very bad & good.. My lumps have been more in the top part of my boobs.....my god some of them almost try and put your neck in there too. Feel like saying , hey.. those stretchy things are attached to my body love. Glad all ok for you though. You are going so well, this will be over in no time for you. Happy days Tara x

Glad to hear the good news with regard to the mammogram! Mmm, I hadn't thought of that aspect, so I'll be checking myself to make sure all is ok too! Thanks for the heads up!
Well done with sticking to the program in stressful times! It's those times that you learn how to master those sabotaging monsters, and you feel so good when you have not reverted to those old demons! You deserve a HUGE pat on the back! I'll definitely message you to catch up when I come to Hervey Bay. Hopefully it is not too much of a flying visit (which it usually is, visit relative and then leave again). Will keep you posted! Keep going strong! Vee |

Hi HBS
I am fairly new to this forum but thought I would pop in, introduce myself, say hi, put the kettle on ...cup of tea? Good to hear your mammogram was Ok and the experience was not too horrible. I hate them so now I have thermal imaging - they don't squash your boobs - feels beter and they say can detect before mammogram. Your weight loss is inspirational - wow so quickly you are loosing it - guess it still feels like a long time. Well Done Shanara

The support I am getting at work!
As today is my birthday (last year before the big 40!!). At work we celebrate each staff members birthday by one staff member being assigned anothers birthday to prepare special culinary delights such as a cake, or whatever. Well, the person who did mine today was so lovely and prepared a giant fruit platter for everyone to share. Whilst I could not eat some of the fruits on the platter, there were many that I was able to enjoy. I thought this was such a supportive action to bring something in for me that suited my weight loss program. The girls at work are just little treasures!!

Aw, that's so nice of them! And just think, you'll look fantabulous at your 40th and you can have the cake then!

I agree with Koh, they must think a lot of you to do that! Hope you had a terrific day! Vee |

Belated birthday wishes, HBS. Lovely thought by your office mate.
Since mammograms have become so widespread the people doing them have become much better at them, and they are seldom painful now. Always remember if you find a lump that the chances of it being serious are fairly small. Also, the cure rate these days is very good. However, it's always nice to know that you are not in the small percentage who do need treatment. AJ

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time. My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight. What else do I do? I help people make money and I help people save money. Please take a look at http://www.acnlinks.clancie.com.au/ |

Thanks AJ for the birthday wishes- much appreciated- I had a great day.
I am so excited about my clothes shopping trip I did on Saturday afternoon. I had been still wearing some of my bigger clothes up until the weekend before last (I wear a uniform to work during the week- which I can also proudly say I have adopted one of my co-workers size 16 uniforms as she has moved into smaller ones also- quite an achievement considering I was wearing size 24 pre- Cohens). I had been putting off spending much money on clothes as I will only be a certain size for a short time, then need smaller ones again (I guess you can all relate to that one- But- I could not wear those big clothes anymore, they just looked ridiculous and I had a trip to the theatre on Saturday evening to see my daughter perform in a drama production. I visited Target and tried on a dress--A DRESS I say!!! I have not worn a dress for....I don't know....I cannot remember!!! Anyway I tried it on and my daughter said "Mum you have to buy it it looks gorgeous" It is a black and white halterneck style, and my husband was just amazed when I came out from getting ready wearing it and a pair of red heels. He has always wanted me to wear dresses, but I was always a pants girl (jeans or 3/4 pants where my thing). Whilst I was at Target I tried on a new pair of trendy bootleg jeans size 16 (not from the plus size section either-they were in the 'Y' generation section-UNBELIEVABLE!!) I am so proud of my efforts and I feel like me again!! Yep I am finally getting my groove back and I love it!! |

YAY for new clothes! I bet you looked like a million bucks! And YAY for the groove! I'm loving op shops for cheap clothes these days! Sounds like Target may be a good option too, though! Keep up the great work!

What I am up to on Friday night!!
On Friday eveing all of my friends and I are having a 'Girls Night IN', fundraising for cancer. My friend (who is hosting the night), is cooking lasagna and apricot chicken, so I am taking my own Cohens apricot chicken to enjoy without the guilt of deviating. I will also have my sprite zero and diet coke to have in a wine glass- (guess I will be the only sober one there!!!) I am going to take some of my crakers and fruit to have latter in the night, when others are picking at nibbles.
It should be a good night - I am going to do manicures on the girls who donate a gold coin, and I was luck enough to gain a gift voucher from my beauty therapist to auction off to the highest bidder, sending the proceeds to the cancer foundation. We have loads more games and treats for the girls to do also (all involving extracting money from them to donate to the cancer council!!!). Will let you know how the night was in my next post!! Have a great day Merryn |
