Default Early morning glory. Yesssss!!!

Ceburoo re-feed is 18 days.

Re-feed starting weight 64.6

DAY 13. Current Weight 62.8
Overnight weight loss 800g
Overall weight loss on re-feed 1.8 kilos!

Nothing like waking up early in the morning and the climax is an 800g overnight loss. Yesssss. All that food and still another loss I am speechless. I did get on and off several times before I was prepared to accept the numbers. How can I still be losing weight there's not much of me left. You never know it could be a one (over)night stand and tomorrow I could be in denial for what I have done. I keep saying that the losses have got to stop with the volume of food that is on the programme. As Kimmy so rightly pointed out it is most probably less than I was eating previously. I only had one meal a day (ALL DAY!!) and into the evening. I suppose you dont look at the quantity or how much good the junk you are eating is doing you. But when you are physically weighing, cooking and eating it all in a disciplined manner . . . it is huge.
I'm really enjoying the additional salmon and it is fast becoming my preferred additional "new" protein at the moment.
So following a glorious early morning rendezvous the day just went swimmingly.
Kimmy yes the last day of re-feed (whatever day that is) is the portion for maintenance but for me personally I doubt that I would be eating all that salad vegetables. For sure I will be having the yoghurt especially while mango is in season. So that takes care of meal 1 then meals 2 & 3 will have to be watched carefully to ensure that I dont undo the good that Cohens is doing me at the moment.
You are leading 2-1 in the sport stakes at the moment. Rugby Union and League while we trail behind with the cricket. Football (Soccer) hopefully will get us square again then it is up to the girls in the netball for the tie-break decider.
Have a good week Kimmy and the re-feed is smooth sailing for you.

Seems that refeed is a breeze for you, Ceb. I was so busy during refeed that, apart from buying in new protein, fruit and vegetables so they were on hand, mostly I decided what I would eat for a meal when it was time to prepare the meal, a system that I certainly don't advocate.

Talking Omg shock horror

Ceburoo re-feed is 18 days.

Re-feed starting weight 64.6

DAY 14. Current Weight 63.2
Overnight weight GAIN 400G
Overall weight loss on re-feed 1.4 kilos!

All good things must come to an end, or so the saying goes. This is the first time the scales have gone in the wrong direction since July. OMG what did I do wrong?? NOTHING. Everything the good Doc said to do, I did. So what's with the tears and the rolling pin? They are only in the post not in reality.
Which way will the scales go now? Plateau, more gains or losses. Dont know doesn't matter all that match Que sera sera (Normie Rowe version). Only have 5 days to go so surely I cant do too much damage in that time that will extend the re-feed, can I???

Louise the scales do get a pasting especially in re-feed. I didnt worry so much on original feeding but it's every day on re-feed. Up till this time I was unconcerned by the scales. I suppose I was expecting an increase especially with the volume of the food I have been eating. The salmon might be doing wonderful things for my heart but it skips a beat when I see your avatar Mimi.

Lindy you cant get rid of me that quickly. I still have another 5 days to go before freedom so it will be interesting to see what happens til then. You are going great guns Lindy. When are you contemplating joining us over here.

Mette Mette you jinxed me talking about always losing! hahahaha. You will do fine in re-feed it is not as daunting as it is made out to be. A bit tricky here and there but the clinic is always available to help you.

AJ it has been somewhat easier than I had imagined it might be. I made a couple of blunders along the way but they did not hurt me. I reckon the weight gain was an event waiting to happen. Its no big deal and I will just continue doing what I am doing. If it gets out of hand then I will have to re-consider but for now it is easy as it goes.

Thanks to all who passed by to check out re-feed land. Especially those who will be joining us soon.

Heya Ceb!

Sorry I've not been able to stop by for a couple of days. I've just caught up on your posts and I'm so glad you're doing so well. Just breezing through Refeed! And with only 5 days to go!

Don't worry about the 400g gain - I'm sure it was a one-off thing to counter-balance that whopping 800g loss you had! I think overall on refeed, you'll definitely be in the minus territory and won't see an overall gain.

I'm really loving the salmon as well. And the aglio olio is really worth the effort, had it this morning! It's dead simple - just cook the pasta first, then drain it. Then fry the garlic, prawns and scallops (or just prawns!) if a hot frying pan with a bit of cooking oil spray. Add a hint of dried herbs (eg: parsley), then add in the pasta and mix well. Yummos!! Go on, Ceb, give it a try

Default PLATEAUING . . . levelling off . . . maybe

Ceburoo re-feed is 18 days.

Re-feed starting weight 64.6

DAY 15. Current Weight 63.2
Overall weight loss on re-feed 1.4 kilos!

Well the rot has stopped for now. No change on the scales so at least that is good news. I have stopped spiralling towards gaining too much and being stopped in my tracks to take the two day double take.

Tried some lamb as my New Protein today which was different and not too bad. Still taking in 3 slices of bread along with the "bad" fruits that taste so good.

Tomorrow I will have a full helping of the "new protein" salmon. A "full" helping in as much that it is such a large helping I should be really full after it. But I have been wrong before so I will just take the medicine (Dr Cohen says food is the medicine) and enjoy it. Also I will be having a plain biscuit. That should be interesting to see what reaction there is to that. I remember seing other posts where some have had a tough time stopping at one. Well the day after I get that opportuntiy coz I will be allowed two. How good is that? Life is good on Cohens.

Hi Kimmy,
Thanks for passing by. I dont take myself too seriously on something like this. Yes it is a serious matter otherwise we wouldn't be here. But there is no point is bashing myself if something doesnt go right for me. I have no control over it so why get into a knot over it if I am doing the right thing by what the good doc says. I've slipped up a couple of times so far but have not deviated outside the food that is on both the feeding programme and the re-feed. Usually it was an honest mistake by not reading and understanding the instructions.
Anyway Cohens is like being either a coach or player. If you are winning then you tend to enjoy coaching or playing more, without any pressure. When the result is not going the right way then there is pressure (perceived or not) on the coach and players to turn around the results in a positive way. Same with Cohens. While things are going swimmingly, no problems, people are smiling and enjoying the results. But if things are not so good then self analysis can compound the problem and some wrong decisions can be made. I'm like the coach of the winning side. Im comfortable enjoying the ride so no need to be too serious about something that is so good.
My results up to now have far exceeded my expectations of what Cohnes was going to be. Now that is something to be upbeat and happy about. Have a good one Kimmy.

Default Roller coaster ride.

Ceburoo re-feed is 18 days.

Re-feed starting weight 64.6

DAY 16. Current Weight 62.9
Overnight weight LOSS 300g
Overall weight loss on re-feed 1.7 kilos!

Just a couple of days from the end I go and get on a rollercoaster for the ride to the finish line. I thought with all the food Im having I wouldnt lose any more. Well that went out the window to the tune of 300g. So that's not too bad and totally surprising. So now the last couple of morning weigh ins promise to be interesting not knowing whether I'm in a downhill loss or an uphill gain.
Day 16 will be remembered for having a decent SLAB of salmon as an added protein. Im beginning to enjoy this added protein stuff. Got myself a plain biscuit as well. Didnt have any Arnotts type so there was a pack of those Scottish Shortbread with sugar on the top. So in the face of such adversity I relented and had one. Tomorrow I get TWO now that's bloody good.
Phase two of the Cohens journey is coming to an end and phase three will begin on Saturday. I am looking forward to that and see how my self disciplne will be especially as we run into Xmas. I'm not a party animal and Xmas at home is extremely quiet so it shouldnt hold any terrors for me.

Default PENULTIMATE DAY ON RE-FEED OMG 100g GAIN

Ceburoo re-feed is 18 days.

Re-feed starting weight 64.6

DAY 17. Current Weight 63.0g
Overnight weight GAIN 100g
Overall weight loss on re-feed 1.6 kilos!

The roller coaster continues after a loss of 300g the previous day now I have a 100g gain. Oh well I suppose I should be safe from the back 2 days penalty for gaining 1 kilo. The slab of salmon was really terrific yesterday while today my new protein was lamb. I'm realising I am not all that fussed about lamb so that looks as though it wont get another run on the dinner table again.
I'm going down to Culburra tomorrow so my final day on refeed will be eating out of a pre-prepared packs for meals 2 and 3. Then on Saturday it will be maintenance mode. That will be interesting but shouldnt be a problem. I need to talk to the clinic regarding maintenance so will do that on Monday. It has been an interesting 18 days the brevity of the phase is what makes it more appealing than the drawn out process of the original programme.

No problem with the biscuit I see, Ceb. Tonight I gave in to temptation and had the second, or maybe it's the third, since I finished refeed. Soon you will be out in the wide world of maintenance land.

Maybe it is just me wanting to get in early in case I forget.

Glad to hear that all is well. I think that it will be interesting to see how all of us go over the Xmas period....I do hope that it is well.

Have a great weekend and see you soon over in maintenance land.

Default Day 18 the last of re-feed.

Ceburoo re-feed is 18 days.

Re-feed starting weight 64.6

DAY 18. Current Weight 63.0g

Overall weight loss on re-feed 1.6 kilos!

Today is the last day of re-feed. The scales moved neither up nor down so my last weigh-in of re-feed was a bit of an anti climax. Re-feed was interesting because of the amounts of food we were consuming and yet there was hardly any upward movement on the scales. IN fact I lost 1.6 kilos whilst on re-feed. What is interesting is that I didnt start re-feed until I got to the bottom of the range that Cohnes had told me. 69-66. In the last week of the programme I lost 1.7kilos to start re-feed at 64.6. That was 1.4 kilos below my Cohen goal weight. On re-feed I hhave lost a further 1.6 kilos to end re-feed at 63 kilos.
I will started maintenance on Saturday but will have to ring the clinic on Monday to ask a few questions. Even though I will "start" maintenance it will be more of the same of re-feed with the freedom to choose what and when I eat. I am going away on Friday and will be back on Saturday night, so the weigh-in on Sunday morning will answer a few questions.

Mette, you will do fine on re-ffed. No problems about that. It is not as hard as it was made out to be. It can be a bit tricky especially near the end when you really have to read the instructions carefully. But an academic such as yourself will breeze through. Rest assured I will be around to ride with you on your journey.

AJ yes no problems with the biscuits. I am a bit like you. Just try all that was allowed on the re-feed (except the grog for me) and see what happens. So the biscuits were a welcome addition but didn't do anything to me making me want to binge on them. After the shortbread I bought arrowroot biscuits and fair dinkum you could eat a kilo of them and not feel like binging on them that's for sure. So two in a day was no biscuit binge starter. I suppose you could say Im out in the wide world now but old habits (newly acquired) die hard so I havent strayed too far (it at all) from the apron strings of the Cohen menu.

Lindy yes I think Xmas will the big test period. But I think we are being given all the tools needed to ensure that we look after ourselves without any appreciable gains. And even if there is some gain we have been told what to do to get back on the right track again. So it will be intersting times that is for sure. I am sure my "friends" that will want to tempt me with the "oh come on its xmas" routine and try to trigger a binge attack will be in for a surprise with my reply.

Default Can you believe that.

Two days out in the world of freedom and the unbelievable happens. I weighed in at 63 kilos last Friday morning (my last official day of re-feed and went away for a couple of days. The first day meals 2 and 3 were pre-packed due to last day of re-feed but Saturday was first day of freedom. Even though I broke a couplm of Cohens rules when I weighed in this morning I couldnt believe what the scales had to say. 61.7 kilos. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT. A loss of 1.3 kilos in two days.

This maintenance scene is pretty damn good.

Lucky you, Ceburoo. I finished refeed, went away for four days and put on 1.6 kgs. Staying on the end of refeed eating plan is a good idea if you can do it. I seem to be eating out with others so often that it doesn't seem to be feasible for me. Will you be starting an exercise programme now?
