Hi Mumandnana!

Wrote you a post and somehow it got lost in transit! LOL!

Thanks for dropping by my diary. How's are you so far?

Saw that you wrote about your clothes size dropping ..perhaps time to invest in a nice belt to "tie" you over all the size drop that would be coming!

Keep some water with you and keep sipping them. I find that drinking enough water does help in moving the weight, bm and improving skin condition LOL!

Hope you are having a good cohen day and happy shrinking!

Hi Yvette, thank you for your encouragement and helpful advice.I am struggling today a bit.Water is my hard challenge but I am working at it. My weight is up today and I think " is all the fat back ? " so silly, of course it isn't.
I love the food and have no problem sticking to it even though quite often now I am hungry, that doesn't bother me but the gain does.I weigh in on a Monday for my regular recorded weight and Thursday just for the challenge,( the rest of the time it is because I am becoming obsessed with it ! ) so hopefully by then (Monday ) it has corrected itself. I don't want to have to record a gain. All the very best and have a wonderful Easter.

I think we just have to get used to the boucing around effect the weight loss has - I was reading conniek's diary and she found the same thing and the fact that it wasnt happening like she thought it would. I am sooo in the same boat but you have to look at the months whole picture rather than a week to week basis. Water has been my challenge of late too so I am again following suggestions in conniek's diary a lge glass with each meal or snak and all in before 7pm. So far that has been working for me. All the best for the weekend and I hope it is a Happy one for you

Hi Wanabslim, thanks for the encouragement I really appreciate it. You are right about the bigger picture and I haven't done anything wrong with the food so the weight must correct itself when it is ready.I will try your water plan. Have a wonderful Easter.

Hey thanks for popping by my diary Mumandnana, Its interesting the different things we all struggle with. I find by putting my water on the daily menu planner I am more conscious of how much I am drinking. It does become a habit after awhile and then you just drink without having to consciously think about it. Happy Easter to You Mumandnana.

Hi there M&N, wow you are motoring along nicely, well done. I find that during my regular cycle I put a little weight on, that isn't unusual, so nothing to worry about. Also I don't lose any weight at all during TOM, was getting very stressed about it, but now that I know what the problem is I just accept that is how it is for me and wait till it is all over. The joys of being a woman I guess.

With water I have 4 x 750ml pump water bottles in the fridge. I have one just after breakfast with vitamins and have it all finished by the time I put my make up on. At work I have a 1 litre bottle and I make sure I have all of it before I have anything else to drink. So when I get home I can have a caffeine free diet coke as a treat. I also have a 750ml water at lunch time. If I can get no more water in at least that way I know I have had 2.5lts a day. I find it much easier to get my water in while I am at home, but I do make sure I have had at least 2.5lts a day.

Hi Deelight, thanks very much for your encouragement. I can't wait until I drink all the amount of water in a day without giving it a thought ! You are doing really well and what happiness it gives us to celebrate as each one has success. All the very best.

Hi Giddyupgirl, Thank you also for your encouragement. I haven't seen Tom in a visual way for about 24 years so it would be interesting to track if the non visual symptoms are the same time wise and effect wise. All the very best.

Hi. You might find the water will be the key to that weight going. I started halfheartedly back on the program and the weight wasnt shifting, but I wasnt drinking all the water. As soon as I upped my water the weight started to drop. I also try to drink the majority of my water early in the day so I dont still have too much on board when I do my morning weigh. This seems to have worked for me. I will often have up to 1 litre before I leave the house in the morning and this takes a bit of the pressure off for the rest of the day!
Good luck
Louise

Now THAT is a very interesting thought. I'm in the same boat - altho not as long, but I wonder if that is why some weeks are better than others.

Thats what I love about the forum - the suggestions and thoughts from others that suddenly give you an "ah ha" moment. Thanks for that.

Hi Louise, Thanks for sharing that. I will try these suggestions that you and others have shared. I was always a very poor drinker so this amount is overwhelming but from what you have said and other posts I have read it is vital that I overcome the problem. For awhile I was doing better but I would wake up in the morning and cringe at starting all over again.I guess I need to face it one glass or one bottle at a time just like we face one kg at a time. Yes, early in the morning is a good time to get a fair bit of it dealt with and not be water logged by next mornings weigh in I am only 5 feet 1 1/2 inches tall so do you think the two litres will do? or go for 2 1/2 ? Someone suggested that because I am short to drink 3 litres would start causing problems but I don't know if this is correct or not.

Hi Mum Chum, yes I think it must be, because emotions are all the time changing just like before. I never bothered to check weight throughout any given month before. We should start a weight diary for an entire month or two and watch what happens and record our emotional state at the same time, it could be interesting at the least and very informative at best.
Another problem is I have no gall bladder as well and between the two missing parts I read that I would be very prone to weight gain plus I am at THAT stage of life so I am longing for this program to sort the hormonal issues out but of course I realize this program is only promising weight loss. The hospital never said about another problem with the gall bladder removal, the Western A Price foundation said I would need to take enzymes for the rest of my life and on this program I am not doing that and my food often feels like it is stuck in my tummy undigested and I am struggling to go to the toilet ( I wasn't going to discuss that here as it is pretty private but today it all came to a head) I go over a week with no relief and so I started on the recommended products one by one but that was when I had a weight gain and my tummy was very unhappy so today I had had enough and fasted for two meals except for a few tablespoons of my yogurt because my vitamin pills have to be taken with food. I had indigestion most of the day ( I get indigestion a lot but while it is unpleasant it is not a biggie )and at tea time I went back to my program. I also have Diverticular disease so it is not a good thing to upset the bowel. I am in a quandary as to what to do. I read here about a product called lactulose, or something like that, that does not make you dependent on it so maybe I should google that and see where I can get some to try it. I have just had another thought on the undigested food if indeed that is what is happening, maybe if I left 6 hours between meals would the extra hour help? Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hey M and N - have you seen the post about toilet issues - it is long but maybe there is something there that would spark a solution - the other thing given the medical issues you have would be to talk wtih your GP. As an ex nurse I feel it is really important that you consult your doctor if things are unravelling physically - just to get a professional opinion in there.
And as for mapping emotions - yep I think i am on a constant cycle that seems to have sped up since being on Cohen's - not the TOM but the emotional cycle.

Hi Shuki, Thank you so much for your help. Yes I did read the posts concerning BM problems and I am looking into that. You confirmed my own thoughts on visiting my GP, thank you.I will do that as soon as possible. I had a very bad flare up once of the Diverticulitis and I sure do not want a repeat of that. As you will know Diverticulitis is not a serious threat unless the bowel wall perforates. It is just really nasty when it flares up. It is called a disease but I personally think I did it to myself, when my diet was wrong for years and the elimination system was mucked up I would strain with great effort to go and this was repeated time and again so I can easily see how the damage would occur. For quite awhile before Cohens I had corrected this problem but now it seems to be back so I will see what my Doctor has to say. She is really nice. I thought as well if I can find some organic Kiwi Fruit I would eat them with the skin on. For awhile I could find only Kiwi Fruit from Italy and I would shudder every time I tried to eat them, I could taste the chemical on them and I HAD peeled them ! so I threw the rest out. My husband was wondering what the shudders and faces were all about ( he knows I normally really enjoy my Cohens food ) but it was so gross. By the way, what's with " Kiwi fruit " coming from Italy ? Kiwi is us Kiwis. Mind you, they used to be called Chinese Gooseberries so I guess they originated from China ?
It was neat to know we were posting in each others diary at the same time All the best and thanks again.

I really understand what you are saying here ! I am hoping this is because our hormones are getting balanced but we are not there yet ?

This drove me nuts for a while but apparently there is like a 3-4 month window when kiwifruit are out of season in NZ so have to be imported. As I am currently in London I don't feel so bad about eating Italian ones (more carbon friendly) but it is hard to get ones that are actually RIPE!!!

Sorry I can't help witht he diverticulitis but keep up your efforts with the water.

Things to focus on this week. WATER, doing much better, keep it up. Lengthen the time between meals to 6 hours which means breakfast finished before 6 am, lunch at 12 and finished before 12:30, tea 6:30pm and finished before 7. Asleep by 9:30. Snacks at 9 am and 3pm.Alternate the meal plans but must record it as I will end up getting confused.Have the highest weight protein portion for breakfast and the least for tea.Or if no time for recording take the entire days frozen portions out of the freezer and have the non frozen food ready and eat it in order according to protein weight. Try to get time this week to make the little vegetable quiches and freeze them free flow style. There is plenty of fruit and crackers at hand so no need for a supermarket trip.

Hi MandN - this is a great way to chart your progress. You are doing really well. Well done! I also was a non-water drinker and it's been a steep climb up to drinking 3 litres a day for me! I have to "fool" myself. Each water glass is 300 mls so I need 10 glasses a day (sounding better already). I'm out and about a lot as I have young kids - so I fill a 600 mls bottle (one of the standard Mt Franklin ones). It's easy to drink that while I'm out - 2 glasses gone. Maybe this will help you too? I'm realising that the water is an incredibly important part of it.

Hi Panda, thank you for your encouragement and ideas with the water.Yes it does seem very important so we must stay on top of it. I had done my weight losses and goals and when I posted it it had all shifted over instead of staying where I had lined everything up to and it looked so jumbled so I went back and put all the little fillers in to keep it in line I must go to the general discussion area and ask how you keep things in line without all the padding. All the very best Panda. Soon your name will not suit you because Pandas are gorgeous and "plumpy" and you will be gorgeous and slim
