Hi Cindy,
How is it going?
Are you enjoying the different food on re feed?

Yesterday I had a horrible breakfast, but I really enjoyed my tea.
Get to have "new" protein today- lamb- yuuuuuumo!!

I also had 1 bread again (for tea this time) but I think it will make my weight go up again- if it does crackers for me today !
Have a good day

Re-feed Day 8 of 19 days - 65.6kg (down 100g)
Breakfast- Meal 1- Egg, Toast, Tomato & Cucumber (allowance)..Fried the toast and egg with a bit of spray oil...yummo
Snack- Kiwi & 1 rice cake
Lunch- Meal 2 - Chicken & Salad w/lettuce, spinach, cucumber and tomato (allowance + 1/2 extra protein and veg)
Snack- Plum (new good fruit)
Snack- Toast w/oil spray, cinnamon and splenda packet
Snack- Pineapple (new good fruit)
Dinner- Meal 3 - Veal & Zucchini (allowance + 1/2 extra protein and veg)
Snack- Plum

Today I'm back the weight I was the day I started refeed...PHEW!!!!

There is way too much food to eat on this...I was really stuffed and blotted from lunch today. Then I had to eat more after. I found myself doing that deep breath thing that I've done so many times before to fit all the food in...that can't be good...it's telling me that I'm eating too much. Should I be worried about this? I don't want to go down that road again...of eating when I'm full...just not stopping. I've been trying to eat everything they recommend thinking it's the best thing...but now I'm wondering. I'm getting ready to go to bed now and I'm really really blotted still...I feel like I have gained 2 kg today...I'm a bit worried about what the scales are going to say tomorrow.

Hey Shell...I start new protein in 3 days...really looking forward to the change. I've been craving Salmon. I'm going tomorrow to get all the food I'll need for this weekend and next week...trying to plan ahead.

Tuti, Evave, Jeannie and Shell for stopping by...it means a lot to me.

So much to eat...so little time.

Cindy

I've been calling by, Cindy, just haven't posted. I love reading the details of refeed. Thanks for posting.

Are four snacks a day a requirement?

I'm not surprised you feel so full Cindy. I am worried now about eating all the food particularly in the last week.

My consultant specifically said that once we mix protein we do not need to follow the five hour rule. Her explanation was that previously we have had five hours between meals so as not to mix protein. So obviously when you can mix the protein in one meal that pretty much goes out the window.

In saying that it seems we get conflicting information so I would be interested in what reason Evave was given.

I hope someone can clear this up for you. I noticed Hexi said she didn't have to wait 5 hours between meals now either so I would say she is also under the same impression.

I hope the scales are kind to you tomorrow Cindy

hmmmm.. interesting, i was told that u don't follow the 5 hours rule simply because u can have milk anytime of day which, by implication, means that the 5 hour rule is done with (but only in terms of milk). With regard to the meals, was told that we should still follow the 5 hour rule... might have to clear it up with Asy though.. I was also advised to stick to the 5-hour rule when on maintenanace, just because it was a good habbit to keep..
YAY for the amount of food

Hi Cindy,
You don't have to wait the 5 hours when you start mixing the proteins. I still do because thats what works with my hours at work.

I was told to try and eat all that you have to as it is getting your body used to the amount you can eat after re feed.

I also questioned the banana and the way it was making me feel & was told if I didn't eat them during re feed not to have them after.
I tried another one yesterday after lunch so it wouldn't make me hungry and it still made my tummy feel bloated and uncomfortable.
I will have another one in a couple of days, as I don't want to not be able to not eat them after re feed- don't eat a lot of bananas anyway but still want the choice.
Hope you have a great day and a loss on the scales

Re-feed Day 9 of 19 days - 65.2kg (down 400g) YEAH!!! (thats 200 g less then my low on refeed)
Breakfast- Meal 1- Egg, Toast, Tomato & Cucumber (allowance)
Snack- Apple
Lunch- Meal 2 - Steak & Zucchini (allowance + 1/2 extra protein and veg)
Snack- Plum (new good fruit)
Snack- Toast w/oil spray, cinnamon and splenda packet
Dinner- Meal 3 - Chicken & Salad w/lettuce, spinach, tomato and cucumber & 2 crackers
Snack- Kiwi

Feeling really good today and totally shocked that I ended up losing weight. I felt so bad yesterday...however I did have some movement this morning in the "you know what" dept...so I am sure that had something to do with it. Feeling so much better now and not blotted at all. Don't feel too full from the food today either...so I guess I will still eat it all for now...still a bit scary when we talk about adding so much more.

Thanks everyone for all your info on the 5 hour rule. My plan says to stick with the 5 hour rule except for the milk...same as what Evave is saying. I am probably going to stick with it as it seems to work okay with me. After refeed will be a different story...but for now I will stick it out.

Cindy

Funny how our perception of a big meal changes, Cindy. I can't believe how much others eat now, and I used to eat all that and more.

that's so true AJ... I think one of the best parts about all of it is that a) u eat so much and NOT gain and b) People r shocked at the amount u eat and wonder about HOW u manage to stay so slim!
And we have to the secret (The secret we're willing to share of course)

Re-feed Day 10 of 19 days - 65.4 kg (up 200g)
Breakfast- Meal 1- Yogurt & Apple Sauce (allowance)
Lunch- Meal 2 - Tuna Salad Sandwich w/mayo, chopped tomato, lettuce (allowance + 1/2 extra protein) w/2 slices of toast
Snack- Plum
Dinner- Meal 3 - Steak & Zucchini (allowance + 1/2 extra protein all extra veg)
Snack- Kiwi & Strawberry (new bad fruit)

Feeling pretty good today...couldn't get that last slice of bread in. But it was so great to have a real sandwich...even thought the tuna was falling everywhere because I didn't have enough stuff to make it stick together more. Couldn't manage all the fruit either...which I know is not a problem.

AJ & Evave...you are so right about our perception of what a large meal is now...we have been so warped in that area...I hope I never think my old portion sizes are normal again.

I have been more regular as well Shell...lovin refeed for that reason alone.

Hexi...I have planned a day at the wine country with 11 of my cousins...actually it's a surprise birthday party for my cousin who's turning 45...she thinks we're going since I have missed drinking wine so much (which I have)...but I planned a surprise party and everyone's going to be there when I arrive with her...I'm planning a picnic with lots of bread and cheese and spreads(NOT COHEN'S FRIENDLY)...but I'll make sure to have other stuff that I can eat as well so I don't have too much of the bad stuff. That's going to be on May 28th. Also, we're planning a 50th wedding anniversary party for my parents and it's going to be a very decadent meal on the 25th of May...I'm really looking forward to splurging for that as well. Yes...I'm very excited to eat normal things again...but also very afraid that I won't be able to handle the freedom well enough. I guess only time will tell...I'll have to find the inner strength that I know is in there somewhere.

Thanks everyone for stopping by...time for bed now...see you all tomorrow.

Cindy

I must say that I'm just amazed when I get on the scale every morning and I've not gained a ton of weight. I feel like I am eating so much food. It makes me feel like I can really handle life after refeed.

HI Cindy,
I am amazed that my weight doesn't go up like you said- I keep thinking I will get on the scales and gain 1kg !!
Realistically I know it can't happen, bit it's a bit scary!

Going to have my 3 pieces of bread today to see how that goes- will miss my crackers though- especially late arvo!
Have a good day
