Five weeks!!! Well done!!!! I can't wait to get there, still such early days for me. I think at five weeks you can really say that you're in the zone with the program and now just keep doing what you've been doing. You now know how to be strong, you know how it works, just enjoy the ride.

Ps. Spring time in Perth, nothing better than that! (*waves* hello home *sniff*) You'll be looking AMAZING by the time summer hits there

Hi Soleil

Yes, Perth is beautiful at the moment! Well, I think it's beautiful all year round but at the moment the trees are sprouting new leaves, the weather is warm but not too hot, we still have a few rain showers from time to time but it's feeling like things are coming alive again. I LOVE Perth ....... you should come 'home'

I posted this in your diary but am copying it into mine for future reference:

I'm realising more and more that although this is a quick loss way of eating it's not about reaching the goal quickly ...... it's more about enjoying the journey because this is going to be more or less how we eat from now on. Can you imagine how good it will be to feel healthy, happy and skinny not just for an instant when we reach goal but for the rest of our lives when we maintain our weight loss.

On a side note ... I was moving some boxes at work the other day and they really felt heavy so I looked at the weight on them and saw they 'only' weighed 5kg!! It struck me that I have lost nearly double that amount of weight, no wonder I feel better! I had been lugging that weight and more around with me everywhere, all day, all night with every step I took!

Anyway, I'm having a lazy week this week. I do freelance proofreading for a publisher as my second job so when I'm not at my day job I spend a lot of hours in front of my computer doing more work. It's the first week in the last couple of months that I haven't had a manuscript to read and I'm loving it. I know I should be doing something constructive but I'm not Everyone needs rest periods don't they??

Oh you are so right about realising just how much x amount of kilos weighs and then to fully appreciate the health benefits of not carrying that amount around your body. When I realised I have to loose as much kilos as my daughter weighs (plus a little over) it really hit me. She is so, so heavy (16kg) and I can barely carry her anymore and to think that I carried that much extra weight around my body is just... Wrong. Never again.

I know why we shouldn't weigh every day ....... and yes, I do now but I must say, I'm still surprised when my weight on the scales is static for 5 days in a row. I'm still 100% deviation free so am not worried that I'm putting on weight, I'm mid cycle so can't be heading for TOM, just curious to see what's going to happen by day 7 ...

Oh how funny!! Me too!!! The weight is just staying the same, goes up, comes down, stays the same. I'm a daily weigher and the weight fluctuation doesn't bother me but I have to say that after five days for me now too, I'm getting a bit Hmmmmmmm....Main thing is to keep 100% though, no matter what. I'm super interested to see the measurements, I'm sure the losses are there this week

Keep it up!!!

Thanks for popping in Soleil! It's encouraging to know I'm not the only one facing a plateau at the moment! I've been reading discussions on plateaus and it seems that sometimes when the weight starts falling off again the losses can be huge! One lady had a plateau and when she started losing again her weight went down more than 2kg in one day! I guess the important thing is to remember to make sure we are drinking all our water (I'm guilty of struggling with this) and not doing anything to sabotage the weight loss like meds for colds and flu. If we keep doing what we know we should be doing, 100% deviation free, then the weight will have to move eventually

Of course, the discussions also centre around why we shouldn't be daily weighers, if we only weighed every 4 weeks we wouldn't see the plateaus. It all makes interesting reading/reminding.

Needless to say, like you, I'm not bothered by the lack of movement on the scales. I know I'm still 100% and the weight will have to move sooner or later. Lol, maybe we should have a competition to see whose plateau lasts longest! Stupid, I know, just trying to put a positive spin on it

Hoping for good cm losses for both of us this week!

Louise

Hi Louise,

If you read through my diary, I had a bit of a plateau around the same time. I was really worried about it but it really was my body reshaping itself. The following week, I had a huge 2.7kg loss. My body goes through weight-loss cycles which are completely unrelated to my TOM. If you are recording your weight weekly you will start to see your own pattern as you get further and further into the program.

You are doing fantastically!!!!

Hi Louise

Havent been around much lately - it is getting into the crazy season for me. So much to do and such little time to do it.

I just wanted to say - you are doing amazingly well. Great work. I too struggle with water and have bad, good and excellent days. Had going at times but I found if I am out and about during the day it is so much harder to keep up the water. I think I need to attach a water bottle to my body.

Once again great losses.

Karen

Hi Karen

Thanks for popping in. I hear you about drinking water while you are out and about. It's always a problem looking for a loo ...... and I hate public toilets for the most part. However, I work nights so am home most of the day and don't have that excuse, lol. I just don't like the taste of the water... I would drink my water allocation in coffee if given a chance!

I've been trying to divide my water quota into segments so I need to drink this much by this time ... it makes it mini goals but I don't always manage and then end up glugging a lot all at once which isn't good either.

Anyway, slight downward movement on the scales today and 2 days to go until I hit the 6 week mark! Wow, where does the time go?

Louise

I struggle with water too but I'm also being kind to myself, because I normally drink hardly any water so I think that any water that I drink now is just so so so much more than I used to. I also divide it into segments, that way it is also a reminder to drink it. And every morning I start with a big glass of water. I read that we are meant to drink a liter of water per every 25kg. There's no way I drink that much, I think I would throw up drinking that much. I probably average 1,5 lters but hoping that with time I can increase it to 2.

It's amazing how fast time goes isn't it. It's almost like once you're past that first ten days or so then it just becomes a breeze (in a way ). Almost six weeks worth of clean and healthy lifestyle, well done! Let's make this a lifetime habit

Good point Soleil. My current water intake is also way more than my normal, 1.5 to 2.2 litres, but there is no way I could drink a litre for every 25kg! Think I will be a little kinder to myself too and not feel quite so guilty for the days I don't manage 2.2 litres. Of course, I will still try to get more in though.

A lifetime habit sounds like a great idea!

Another small drop on the scales today. We will see what tomorrow brings as it's my official weigh day.

I definitely feel thinner and hubby says he can see I've lost weight so that's encouraging.

6 Weeks have flown by and while this week's loss of 0.7kg is the smallest, it's not to be sniffed at. I was hoping to have reached a 10kg loss in total but I'm close and should reach that next week.

I'm still 100% on plan and according to the tape measure it was boob and hips week with the greatest loss being on my hips. I'm happy about the volume of my ample boobs decreasing but don't think I like the saggy, down to the knees look, lol.

The highlight of my week was when my 18 year old son gave me a hug and said I feel smaller!! It wasn't a contrived comment either.

My aim this week is to drink more water! With the weather warming up it should be a cinch

On a side note: I was watching TV recently and saw the ad for Jenny Craig... Mel B was saying she'd lost 15kg in 20 weeks, and I realised that on Cohens, most people lose more kg than weeks it takes. i.e. at this point I have lost 9.5 kg in 6 weeks. Go team Cohens!

Sorry AZ, didn't see your post ... don't know how I missed it! Not half way though, I'm a third of the way - although it does look close to half on my ticker

Hope your day is going well. Have you been in contact with your consultant yet?

Well done!!! -0,7kg is definately not to be sniffed at! You are 0,7kg lighter than last week and so much healthier too. Every day you are doing something good to yourself, visible or not at this stage.

I feel your sentiments about the loss of the boob size. I worry about it too personally, at the same time can't wait. But after two children, and a bit of yoyoing with the weight it's kind of like hmmmmmmm......

A huge congratulation on yet another week achieved 100%, I've written it before but will again, nothing will stop you now!!!!!

Default Re: Skinny Chic - Soon2BSlim's Diary

Hi Louise!

Just read through your diary and was particularly struck with this:

"On a side note ... I was moving some boxes at work the other day and they really felt heavy so I looked at the weight on them and saw they 'only' weighed 5kg!! It struck me that I have lost nearly double that amount of weight, no wonder I feel better! I had been lugging that weight and more around with me everywhere, all day, all night with every step I took!"

I never looked at it before, and made me realize now that when I was at my lowest, I nver really tried to test the difference of being lighter, or did not pay that much attention that now, I dont remember it. I have never been so convinced on using weight as a factor but size, so all I can remember now is my size then. So now that I am back at 72, I made a real mental note of how Im feeling with this weight... and just ticked a lot of stuff that I think I could be doing better if I get back down 10kgs lighter!!

Sorry for the rambling..

cheers for the weight loss!!! keep it up!
