Hi All,

I survived my Easter hols with only one small deviation - a diet coke - so pretty happy with that. I realy did miss not having a drink when we went out or going for a cappucino. Going to a cafe and having a black coffee or tea is not that enjoyable for me.

I took the girls to Yarrawonga on Monday and we were walking around the shops walking past food shops and cafes where people were sitting having lunch and the food smelt so good. I realised that I would normally say to whoever I was with lets go and have something to eat just because it smelt good not because I was hungry. That's one thing I am going to have to concentrate on when I finish this program - am I really hungry or do I want it because it smells so good? Another thing this program has taught me is to not keep snacking or picking at food all the time.

The scales were good to me this morning - another 700g down from Friday

cheers

Tuti

Hello everyone,

No movement on the scales for the last couple of days.

I am struggling to find warm clothes that fit these days. A couple of weeks ago I had a big clean out of my wardrobe and kept a couple of pairs of jeans that were a bit tight around the waist. I tried one of those pair on this morning and they are loose

My 15 yo daughter and I went shopping yesterday. I really struggle with fashion these days. I am basically a jeans and t-shirt girl. the layered look really bamboozles me because I don't have any fashion sense. So Myers had 20 percent off these little tops you wear under everything and I grabbed a few of those and my daughter found a black woollen no-sleeve top to go with them. When I tried them on we both could not believe how flat my tummy was. She was as shocked as me. the first thing she said was thats great cause now I can borrow that top.

I think our motto should be " when the going gets tough - try on clothes!!"

I love reading about other Cohenites trying old clothes on that are now too big. and it happens so quickly.

cheers

tuti

You're right, Tuti. There's nothing so encouraging as going through the wardrobe and discovering that too small clothes now fit, or are too big, and the ones we've been wearing have to go out. I've always held on to clothes before in case I need them again (because I always have). This time the 20+s, and now the 18s are going to the op shop as I know I will never need them again. That's really liberating

Well the scales are starting to slow down with me now. I have only lost 700gs this week although I have one day to go for the week.
The last couple of weeks I have averaged 1.4kgs. But I am quite happy to go along like this until I get to my goal.

I fit in size 10 clothes quite easily now and am very happy with how the body has shrunk. I don't know what I expected..maybe to lose more off one area than another but really I have just shrumk in size like someone has put me through the dryer

Ez your mozarella recipe sounds pretty good so I might give it a try during the week.

AJ my hubby told me to stop buying clothes because if I get to my goal weight they will be too big (jeans mainly). But everything I have is size 14 and is so baggy and like Pandora says in one of her posts you don't feel so good wearing those clothes.

Cheers

Tuti

Sounds like you're doing really well with the shape changes, Tuti.

Do you think that you will drop another size with the few kilos you have remaining? If so, yes, buy new clothes for now, but just the minimum.

Hi Tuti
Thank you for reading my diary I will weigh myself tomorrow and hope for the best I have only been back on track since Wednesday and am still thinking I should wait for a week until I weigh again.

I know it may seem you may have only lost 700g this week, but that is still very good. I bet if you measured yourself you would have lost some centremetres. I have found that one follows the other. You don't have far to go and you will reach your goal weight. So hang in there and it won't be long.
Cheers Kelly

Hi All,

Well I've put my floaties on in preparation for the swim to Irenes Plateau Island. Six days on the same weight. although I have a feeling Irene wont be there when I get there.

My four weeks is up today and overall I am thrilled with the results. This was my last ditch attempt to overcome being a middle-aged frumpy female. I was getting pretty depressed about my weight and my attempts at weight loss.

Yesterday I put on a pair of old black levi jeans i had stored away. I went up to our local football club where my son & daughter play and my husband couldn't believe how cute my bum looked He thought I would always have a big bum.

I'm off for a blood test today and to the clinic tomorrow.

thanks Kelly and AJ for visiting. there are so many diaries now it is hard to keep up. I try and read them all. Although my cat didn't like me doing it this morning and plonked himself right in front of the computer screen and then spent a couple of minutes watching the little smiley things and bananas jumping on the screen

cheers

tuti

You have done well, Tuti. When you have only a relatively small amount to lose you can't expect it to all go in a month (I'm not suggesting you did expect that).

This is probably a last ditch attempt for many of us. It's such a stringent programme that you have to be desperate to decide to tackle it, unless you already know someone who's done it.

Congratulations on the way your husband thinks you're looking. I'd love to think that might happen to me, but I'm not holding out strong hopes.

Hi Tuti and thank you SO much for writing to me over in my "wee pity party" of a thread i wrote in today! Inspired me to come and catch up with your diary! Wow, you have been doing fantastically well! Not long to go now so yes, weight loss can slow down or temporarily STOP as your body readjusts to the new you! Over 6 kgs in your first month is wonderful considering you have so little all up to lose! I also know exactly what you mean about NOT wanting to be a middle aged frumpy female, and we dont have to!

So Tuti, thanks to your loving reply to me, i have dried my eyes and realise that catching up with a few more inspirational diaries is exactly the therapy i need to zap off those kilos just like you are doing so Well! Look forward to hearing how your clinic visit went today.

Hi Tuti

I don't know if I have dropped in before but I love that saying

When the going gets tough try on clothes - many a times I have done just that and it is always motivational!

As for baggy pants - Op Shops are my new best friend...saves money and seeings they are only needed for a short time makes sense...actually speaking of which I really need to go and get some more. I am saving the BIG SHOP for when I am done.

You are going great girl!

Hi All,

No loss today but had my "official" weigh in today at the clinic and have lost 6kgs according to their scales

They are actually going to order my refeed so it is ready for me when I lose the next couple of kilos. so I will have a chance to read through it because it does seem pretty complicated.

I have been a bit hungry lately even an hour after I have eaten.

Aj - I probably wouldn't want to lose anymore in a month because like you say I haven't much to lose and it would seem quite a drastic weight loss. I would actually be happy to lose half a kilo a week now so i can really get used to eating the cohens type food.
I'm sure when you have got to your goal weight AJ , hubby will be more than interested in checking out your butt
I noticed you've nearly got to the 15kg lost

Pandora your diary was the first one I read when I found this forum and I was really impressed with your efforts and attitude.
And you are definately not a middle aged frumpy female you are a little dynamo

Hexi thanks for visiting. Yes I will now have to wait for a little while before I do anymore shopping! Good to see your back on track too

Cheers
Tuti

How exciting to be getting your refeed programme, Tuti.

I've been telling myself when I slow down that it's giving me longer to get used Cohen habits. This isn't going to stop for me once refeed is over

Hi all,

Week 4 Day 3 for me today. After a week at the same weight, the clinic told me I would have a big loss in the next couple of day(they just know it works don't they) and this morning I was 800gs down

I unofficially started the program two days before I officially started(does that make sense ) and to lose 7 kilos in just over 4 weeks for someone who hasn't got a lot to lose is just mindblowing for me. I would have thought weight loss would be a bit slower but there you go.
The clinic said i would be at my goal weight pretty quickly and they are right(even though I am not there yet).

It's funny how I feel. On one hand I am over the moon and on the other I feel quite embarassed. I don't know how to explain the embarrassed part. I think it is because most people on this forum have quite a bit of weight to lose and I feel like this program is really for those people ( look how well everyone is doing ). Yet I know for sure I would not have achieved the same results any other way and this program has given me the tools to keep my weight in check.

Aj I have already told my family I am going to cook the same type of meals for them. They keep telling me how good my meals smell.

Hexi - I have been reading the refeed thread with interest.

Kelly - I think that's the answer - be deviation free for as long as you can.

cheers
