Hi Anna,

Thanks for dropping in for support.

I have had a small loss overnight - YAY - but still not a lot. I really hope that my body is reshaping in a big way. I will continue with the no chewing gum and minimal diet coke and see if the losses continue.

A loss is a loss, hopefully some of its looser friends will join it tomorrow and you will be off running again.

Hi AZ,
This is a bit of a worry.....
Quote:
And I am actually feeling starving every night when go to bed with my stomach growling at me.
See, if you ARE starving yourself, then losing weight will be a VERY difficult path for you. A couple of questions:-

1. Is this an old Plan, or a new one?
2. Have you contacted your clinic re this issue (hungry, and not losing weight very efficiently)?

Depending on the answers, I might have some thoughts that could be some kind of help. But I don't want to go off without knowing at least a little background. You did show your last journey in a recent post, but the thumbnail was so small I couldn't read it.

Hi AZ,
I think we should not be weighing daily. It can be motivating yet demoralising at times. Try weighing once a week or a month.
I remember the weeks that I gave no weight loss, I have inches loss and feel my clothes much looser. So don't just look at the scales and stress yourself up.

Good luck 😉

Hi AZ! Glad to see you are sticking to your plan despite your losses being slower than hoped for. You really are amazing the way you set your mind to something and don't quit until you achieve what you aim for! You're totally inspirational <3

A few quick thoughts about your slower weight loss, are you eating enough? Are you eating your full allowance of everything, including crackers and fruit? Are you drinking enough water? Are you taking your vitamins? Are your food scales weighing correctly (i.e. batteries not low)? Are you still having regular BM's? Are you exercising? Are you ready for refeed?

So many questions, and I know you have probably asked yourself all of them already but it doesn't harm to ask again as the answers could affect your loss.

Here's hoping for a good loss for you this week! Hang in there - you can do this!

Louise

Hi All,

Thanks so much for checking in on me and your supportive comments. I should have just trusted in the Program and stop being so impatient.

I know I shouldn't weigh daily BUT I just can't help myself. Anyway, I am very happy to report that the scales have moved again with 900g in the last 2 days - YAY! I have also reduced in size. I don't measure anymore but I have certainly noticed as I now fit into a few of my smaller clothes again.

Hi All,

I am happy to report that after 3 very slow weeks, the scales have started to move again with a 1.0kg loss for this week.

Got to hope that the scales keep moving as I only have 6.5 weeks until I go to NZ and only 4.5 weeks until I start refeed. So I need to lose 5.7kg in 4.5 weeks (that's 1.3kg per week) to get to 60kg before refeeding. It's going to be a stretch

Hope you are all big losers this week!

Hi All,

Thanks to Koh, Starry and Louise for visiting and providing your thoughts. To answer a few questions from earlier in the week:

- My EP is an old plan from May 2014 but it has always worked for me. Don't really want to fork out another $750 unless I have to.
- I am eating all my cracker allowance and fruit allowance
- I think the hunger might be related to the cold weather or maybe even hormonal. I'm feeling a lot better now with respect to that.

I will wait and see if it was just a plateau or something more when I next weight in. For now, the scales are moving so I will just keep praying the keep going down.

Default Re: AZ's On EP Again

Hi AZ,

You mentioned hunger - and being cold..... A couple of points re those:-

1. Over 50% of our "heating" comes from digesting food - so, if you are eating less, you are going to feel colder. Many on Cohens report this.

2. Try the meal switcheroo - eat your Meal 3 earlier in the day, leaving the light meal (meal 1?) for the evening. This gives you more food to "get you thru the day" (and heat you up more) and the light meal at night allows the body shaping to begin earlier while asleep as there is less food to digest. You also feel warmer in bed, even if you only ate a small meal.

Works for some - and it might even give you a nice surprise.

3. Hopping on the scales daily is NOT a problem - unless you make it one.

AJ recorded every day's loss over many months. The main thing was, she didn't depend on seeing a daily loss - it was more like a "project" to her to record her weight daily.

And guess what? She didn't lose weight every day (who knew?) and sometimes lost very little in one week. But over time, looking at her chart from a distance, it almost looked like a straight line downward anyway.

See, the days when weight is not shifting, other things are happening, getting ready for another huge loss to keep that line moving downward - but it's NOT daily. Have a look at her chart - click on the chart thumbnail to make it larger:-

http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=168165#post168165

Rock on AZ,

Koh

PS I had put the wrong link in earlier - soz !! The one above is now the correct one, and should take you right to AJ's post with her chart attached.

PPS I don't know what the heel is happening - clicking on the above link (for me) takes me to the original link I had entered. But, if I COPY that link and open it in a new window, it works fine !! What's going on?

Suffice to say, if you click it and DON'T see a thumbnail in a post made by AJ, then simply copy that address and open it in a new window too.

It is worth the effort, especially if YOU are distressed by "no loss days and even weeks".

Hi Koh,

Thanks for dropping in and thanks for your tips. AJ's graph is incredible. I wish I thought to record my losses daily like that. I do have a spreadsheet which I enter in to but I don't weigh every single day so there are gaps. Good though to go back and look at the trends. This time I am recording all sorts of things to see what affects different things have and looking at the weight loss cycle as a whole. I am an engineer so I like the whole science behind it all. Needless to say, I can't really see any real trends related to anything. I did think that recording TTM against weight loss might show a trend but nothing thus far.

In all honesty, I am just impatient because I have the deadline of my NZ trip. If I don't make it by then, I'll just continue back on EP when I return and then do refeed when I am ready. As long as I am 62kg by NZ, I should be okay.

Thanks Anna - I'm going to start reefed when I get under 59.5kg.

I was hoping to have it all done and dusted before my trip but I think my timing might be out by a week or 2 which is a little frustrating but I might just have to go back on EP when I return for 2 weeks and then do my reefed. It actually exactly what I had to do the first time I did Cohen's!
