And get rid of your big clothes - that way you don't have no choice but to maintain your weight loss. Shopping for new smaller ones is such a nice problem! |

Re: Dennyhorse - galloping to a leaner me.
Hey Denny!
Sounds like you've got it all sorted!! Bummer about the unmotivating consultants! I barely even used my clinic. Only spoke to them to get the joining forms and popped in for 2 mins to pick up my plan... Went in for 15 mins for refeed and that was it. haha. I just rely on the good old forum! ha Meanwhile... Our BMIs are nearly the same!! You must a bit taller than me though. hehe. I see your BMI goal is quite low, is that the lower end of your cohens range? I reckon you'll be finished those 8 kilos in no time!! Even sooner if you get refeed symptoms earlier!

Re: Dennyhorse - galloping to a leaner me.
Hey Reena - yup I'm having a massive throw out tonight - Merry Christmas St Vinnies and Salvo's!! Some fantastic clothes will be going their way - I'm a bit sad cause I was in Europe earlier this year and bought some great pieces there and none fit me anymore First world problem hey!!
LD - I'm 175cm tall - a giant compared to you!! LOL My Cohen's range is 66-63 kg - and I reckon there will be nothing of me at 63kg. I'm wanting to get closer to 63kg for refeed - after reading thru many on the refeed and maintenance diaries here but am going to be flexiable. Prior to Cohen's I did a lot of weight lifting so I have a reasonable amout of muscle still even though I haven't trained for a while. I dont want to lose all the muscle but my consultant is adement that I need to get to 63 to start refeed..... I thought you had to go in every month to see the consultant!!! Honestly yesterday's app was a complete waste of my time - it's an hour away from where I live, 45 mins from work and I was in there for all of 5 mins!!! What a waste!!! I could give them sooo many ideas on how to improve their business etc Oh well their loss (hehehe and mine!!!). OMG I'm so hungry and I have 1hr and 50 mins till I can eat!!! Hoping a black coffee will sustain me till then. Will try and upload some pics tonight!!! |

Re: Dennyhorse - galloping to a leaner me.
Yay for pics!!
I'm already hungry and I just ate my lunch. It was so good, that's probably why! I'm relying on black coffee these days too! Decaf though, so I don't go over the caffeine limit, as I need my diet coke in the evening!! I am hoping to get low-ish into my range... which is 58-62 (I vary in shoe size, so I use both ranges). I really need to get into my wardrobe and donate my bigger stuff too. I have an OP shop really close by.... I could practically throw my things to them from the front yard. haha. I just hate saying goodbye to clothes I love!!! But, no, I don't want to be able to be complacent. Have a great day, Denny! And I look forward to seeing your pics!!

Re: Dennyhorse - galloping to a leaner me.
Hi Denny, I wonder if you would mind letting me know your prescription. I am in Auckland with family and I have stupidly forgotten my prescription so annoyed with myself!!! I can't remember exact weights. I wonder if I could see yours as we started at a similar weight, I am hoping our allocation will be similar???
I know I have 80g veg and egg for breakfast but lunch and dinner muddled! Would be grateful if you could let me see your lunch, dinner weights |

Re: Dennyhorse - galloping to a leaner me.
Well I'm glad I'm not the only one that hasn't been posting over the festive period!!! I hope everyone is still on track and losing weight!!
I had a lovely break period but it's back to work now. All in all I am pleased with how I coped over this time - After discussing what to do regarding food on Christmas day with my husband I decided to deviate. I had so many people to feed etc and I didnt want to me a miserable person so I allowed my self to eat what others where eating and a couple of drinks. Both my husband and I where quite interested in how it would affect me kg wise - and how quickly it would take to lose anything that I put on. So we called it an experiment in a controled situation!!!! LOL My justification! I didn't go overboard on CD but I did have a few Champers, some turkey, a potatoe, some pudding and a slice of a delicious gateau that I made. I didnt snack on crap food - but stuck to the food that we sat down to.. The result was a gain of 700g - of which I had lost 200 of on the day after Boxing day. We then went down to Albany to see some friends for 4 days and when I came back I was about 1.2kg lighter - so had lost my CD weight an some more. It was interesting that I felt so lethargic and flat on Boxing day - I dare say from all the sugar from the Champers and the Gateau!!! It was very interesting. New Years Eve we had some friends around for tea - the deal was that I was providing the venue and desert (my gateau from Christmas day was requested!!) and they would bring the main meal - which they told me would be beef - but they bought pork!! EWWWW I hate pork but nibbled at a little to be polite and thankfully they had made a wonderful Zuchini salad which was my saving grace. One Champers and a couple of reds resulted in a 400g gain - which was gone by the second day. Yay!!! All in all I'm finding the program so easy - but I did start to panic about Maintenance. I love the structure of the program and I was worried about not having structure in Maintenance. Fortunately my Consultant rang me last Thursday and explained that they do give you a plan for maintenance - and if I'm finding the program easy that I will find maintenance a piece of cake - not literally though!!! So that reassured me as well! Yesterday we had a friend's suprise 60th birthday - he's of German extraction and so we all had to dress up in German dress... I wore the cutest outfit - something that I never thought I would be able to wear - but I did and I reckon I rocked it!! Will try and post some pic!! I've also tried to post a pic of me pre Cohen's taken in August of 2013 in the UK. OMG it's so gross and a great reminder of where I never want to be again!!! The other interesting thing that happened yesterday was that I found out that one of our friends has done Cohens. She did it last year - and two of her friends signed up on Friday which has inspired her to go back on her plan to lose the kg she gained over Christmas. It was facinating comparing notes with her - she lost 16kg - and wait for it - had a glass of red wine every night she was on plan!!! I forgot to ask her how long it took her to lose her weight but it was great chatting about life on maintenance. Anyway - enough from me - I hope you all had a super Festive season. Oh and Nic - I'm sorry I wasn't really on the forums much over this time- but in Australia we have to sign a document to say that we won't pass our prescription on to others. I would have loved to have helped you out - but not at the risk of Dr Cohen taking my house or business!!!! Cheers Folks! |

Re: Dennyhorse - galloping to a leaner me.
LOL Thanks Odette!!! Prior to Cohen's I did a lot of weight training - 3 times a week - and I'm very lucky that although I haven't been training I haven't managed to lose too much muscle. Not looking forward to my first training session back thought - my husband is taking bets on whether or not I'll throw up!!!
I've just worked out that since Friday 20th December I've lost a total of 3kg!!! - LOL I think I'm the only one in my office that lost weight over the standdown - not put it on!!! Happy New Year to you too xxx T |

Re: Dennyhorse - galloping to a leaner me.
Hi Dennyhorse!
Glad to hear you survived Christmas and NYE! I scraped through, am slowly getting back to post refeed weight... Sigh! not trying too hard Didn't get a chance to ride.. Have been so busy leading up to Christmas, study, harvest I sort of burnt out! I worked with my filly training for showing and was going to ride my Horse last weekend. I looked at his hooves and I have to get Farrier out... Goodness, though he has got very fat! I wasn't going to ride him the way he looked! He is locked up as a result on low energy hay... My god the filly neighed all night the first night..outside my window... No sleep! Arrrgggh!

Re: Dennyhorse - galloping to a leaner me.
Hey Folks - gosh my week last week was so quiet work wise that I had heaps of opportunities to read up on everyone's diary - this week it's all systems go again!! So it might take me a while to catch up on where everyone is!!
The weight range for starting refeed that Dr C reccommended for me is 66-63 kg (I set my ticker to 63) and this morning I weighed in at 67.1kg so only 1.1 kg away from the highest weight for refeed. I don't think I'm ready for refeed yet - I'm still dropping 100-300g a day and I really don't have strong refeed symptoms - I am hungry between meals but not "cut my arm off and eat it" hungry, I am a little more irritable but I can control it. I do have a few aches -but my wretched horse kicked my in the chest on Thursday so I reckon I'm allowed to be sore from that!! I see my consultant on Wednesday and am due for a blood test then - so will probably order refeed. I think I'd like to get to 64/65 ish before I start. I'm actually starting to get nervous about both refeed and maintenanace - fingers crossed my consultant will have some marvellous advice which will help me sort it all out! It's been freakin HOT here this weekend - no doubt you saw in the news we had fires and a lot of homes lost -thankfully it was well away from my area but I do have friends involved that had to move livestock etc- fingers crossed no one I know has lost a house but I'm yet to make contact with a few friends that I'm worried about. It's my 18th Wedding Anniversery today- and I weigh less today than the day I married my wonderful husband!! Pretty cool hey!! I was supposed to be going to an awards night on Friday night which has been cancelled. Good for me on one hand - so I can stay on plan prior to refeed!! but I'm a little disapointed as I bought an awesome Wheels and Dollbaby dress to wear - and now I have no where to wear it!! Such a first world problem!! My husband offered to take me out for dinner tonight so I could wear my dress but I've decieded to wait till I'm in Maintenance and then at least I can have a glass of vino and enjoy myself a little more (but not overindulge!!!). Relles I hope you've managed to strip some weight of your gelding and that the filly has settled in the process. There is NOTHING worse than horses calling out to each other in the night!! My gelding is a PITA - and kicks his stable door when he decides he would like room service to deliver him so hay!! The bugger!! I now hobble him when he is in his stable but since mid December I have been reverse stabling him so at least its quite in the stables!! Jav, LD and Reena ta for the compliments!! It was a fun day - and I cant believe I fit into that outfit!! |

Re: Dennyhorse - galloping to a leaner me.
I'm having a bit of a slow day at work so I am catching up on diaries
I also chose to deviate on Christmas Day (and Boxing Day). We had 2 big family get togethers. I didn't go crazy - just a couple of glasses of wine, piece of pavlova, some ham... well I am still paying for it! I put on 3kgs in those 2 days and am only just got them off last week! Holy moley, I won't be doing that again! Makes me nervous for reefed! Happy anniversary! |

Re: Dennyhorse - galloping to a leaner me.
Hey there Dennyhorse!
Congrats on the Anniversary! The dress sounds nice... We will have to see a pic of you in it! 😎 My Gelding is a big Boofa he is supposed to be a heavy horse... But not that heavy! He does similar in stables.. He hates them, will back up to the wall and kick.. Seriously don't get why he does it.. He capped his hocks temporarily doing it it must of hurt! :/

When are you starting refeed? I think I'll start mine in 2 weeks (want to get lower into my goal, but probably not to my lower goal weight). I'm looking for a refeed buddy! |

Re: Dennyhorse - galloping to a leaner me.
Hey guys thanks for dropping by my diary! Thanks for the congrats Steki, Relles, RM and Jav!! 18 yrs is not too bad in this day and age!!
I weighed in at 66.9 this morning - 66 is the top of my refeed weight... slowly slowly!! Í saw my consultant on Wednesday and had a great chat to her about Refeed and Maintenance which makes me feel a little better about getting to those two places! I think I'm starting to show some Refeed symptoms - I have a constant headache that I can't shake - some lower back pain - and a fuzzy feeling (no disrespect to blondes but I feel like I'm blonde!!!) , but I'm not overly hungry... yet! My consultant has asked me to introduce my rice thins and fruit inbetween meals, so I basically eat something like half a rice thin or half a piece of fruit every 2 hours... I've always felt hungry on the plan - and I can cope with hunger but the fuzzy feeling is crap. So with the mixing up of my Rice thins and fruit I am feeling much better! My husband is starting to get a bit cranky with me though and thinks its time for refeed - he thinks I'm getting too skinny but I think its because it is the leanest I have ever been and he is not used to seeing me this way. I've done a "deal"with him that I will start refeed at 65kg but - just between you guys me and the www I think I will start at around 64 provided refeed symptoms are not too aggressive at that stage!!!! So Jav - I could well be on track to start refeed with you and Ridemum!!! My consultant is going to order it for me when my blood test results are back so all I have to do is ring the clinic and make a time!!! Oh - I had to go and buy new bras too - omg - the poor girls have shrunk so much LOL I have the most industrial strenght horseriding bra known to man!! Heaven help Berlei if they ever stop manufacturing it!! My old one suddenly developed a big pocket of air in it!! lol so it's all good now - the girls have some new found support esp when I'm riding!! Relles is your big boofa a chestnut?? He sounds just like my bloke (who is a red head). Last night he was galloping thru his paddock in the middle of the night chasing roos - I had to lock him up just so I could get to sleep and not let him hurt himself!! |
