Hello B2B,

I hope you've recovered satisfactorily enough to continue the journey without agony. I know how agonising it can be. I myself were sick twice on the programme and all the while I was hoping I could eat some porridge / congee - typical chinese convalescence food but oh well...I couldn't obviously. You seemed to be dealing well though and you didn't give in... WELL DONE!

Week 12 Results: I had a loss of 4.3kg this month.. I'm a little disappointed, however, I don't think being sick and taking anti-biotics helped. I am happy now though as I'm only 600g (I think) off having lost 20kg! Woo!!

I've been so busy with uni thats I've hardly had a chance to get on here and write anything.. and I'm procrastinating from my uni work at the moment.

I'm so excited, after i had my 12 week blood test yesterday my Finacee brought me a puppy!! She's a mini daschund that I named scrabbles! sooo cute

Reflections after 12 weeks...

I've been so busy lately that I haven't even really thought about the program or my progress much. My food preparation is second nature to me now and I don't even have to think about what I'm doing half the time..

Lately I've had alot of people telling me how good I look and that they can notice so much that teh weight has disappeared, and whilst I was estatic with that response and sung Dr Cohen praises, I've had a little trouble noticing the loss, even though old clothes now fall off me, I still didn't see the changes everyone else did.. and I realised its because when I look in the mirrow I still saw the 'fat girl' I didn't like, so yesterday I decided to take a good long look at myself and I was a little amazed at what I saw when I actually looked at myself.. I have a waist now, I find that quite amazing, there is actually a defined waist and seperate hips and not just one continous roll of fat cascasding down the side of my body.. Incredible. I don't have a double chin anymore, in fact my face shape has completely changed, its no longer round, but long and slender with a seperate neck to face... Incredible, how did I not notice that before? My already long skinny fingers and now even skinner (and I thought they were teh only part of me that didn't have any fat on it), and it prob explaisn why my engagment ring falls off now.. need a resize now. Every woman in my family had a BIG booty, we call it the finlayson curse, and they have all kept telling me that even if I lose weight I'll still have a big bottom, because its our family's curse (crazy huh?), we'll after yesterday I'm confident enough to say that I'm NOT cursed cause my bottom has shrunk, shrunk, shrunk and is no longer a sizeable booty!!

I work at woolies part-time and I was serving a customer who came through with two 10kg bags of rice, I really struggled to lift one of those let alone both at the same time and it made me wonder how on earth I carried that much weight around on my body? scary... I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK TO BEING THAT SIZE AGAIN!! I have fallen in love with my new body and I can now see the changes more clearly and I know that it can only get better as I shed my remaining weight.. its nice to start to feel like a normal girl, I wish I'd felt this good about myself when I was a teenager, when I should have been out enjoying myself and just being young.. its sad how much youth I wasted hiding away because I hated the way I looked... I have a lot of lost tiem to make up for.

I have a good feeling about my weight loss for the next month!!! I think its gonna be a good one .... correction a BIG one, cause any loss is a good loss.

oh an also its good to no longer be consider apart of the BMI obese range, I am now just over-weight, which still sounds crappy, but better than being obese... 10 more kilos (roughly) and I'll be a member of the normal weight range.. and now THAT will be something to really smile about!

I really enjoyed reading your thoughts. I am glad that you can now see the change. Will have to remember that when I am about 20kg down.
Its great news about your BMI. I can't wait to be over-weight!!! Oh that sounds funny!
Well done. Just watch that little frog jump!

Hi bride2be

Wow, you are really doing well and you sound so positive.

I can totally relate to what you are saying about not feeling thin. I have lost 24kg to date and still sometimes have to really look at myself to see the change. It's funny how we still see ourselves as fat even though we have nothing left to wear. I was even scared to go and buy new clothes as I thought I would not fit into a 16 or 18 and now they are too big. We need to recondition our thinking and say to ourselves that we are thin and we are sexy!!

Keep up the excellent work. You are going to be thin in no time!!

Crave: thanks for stopping by, lol, yeah I never thought I'd be gald to say that I'm just over-weight, lol.

Roxy: I'm trying to stay as positive as I possibly can... I'm hoping the more positive I am, the more weight I will lose... hopefully.. I just enjoyed going through my wardroabe and throwing all my fat clothes into a bag to take to lifeline or something.. it was an exciting moment for me.. but now my wardrobe is considerably empty.. I'm lucky that I have lots of size 16, 14 and 12 clothes to see me through the next couple of months.. hopefully it won't be too much longer and I will be able to get rid of the size 16 completly.. and thats a REALLY happy thought..

Hi bride2be

thanks so much for sharing your thoughts - i really enjoyed reading your post - it was very enlightening. you sound like you are really focusing on the positives of your weight loss now - good on you - I reckon sometimes that's half that battle because we often focus too much on what's still left to lose rather than what we've already achieved.
You must be looking amazing babe - well done!

Hi all,

Weighed in this morning and I have had a loss of 2.1kg this week, so I'm feeling pretty good

Lately I've noiticed besides my changing body is that the weightloss has helped my hyperhidrosis. I have ridiculoulsy bad sweaty hands, feet and underarms (and I don't mean that they get a little sweaty occasionally, they seriously drip, its not very pleasent). But over the years I've learnt to deal- I constantly wipe and wash my hands, I NEVER ever go without wearing socks and change them several times a day etc etc etc. However, I've noticed with the weight loss that it is improving, slowly, my feet are seeing sunlight for the first time in years, I don't have to put socks on immediatly for teh fear of leaving puddles of water all over the house and my hands have gotten so dry at some points that the skin is cracking and I had to use moisteriser (which I have never used on my hands before). Its kinda odd having dry hands, its a completely new experience for me, it makes me hopeful that the more weight I lose the better they will get.. (fingers crossed)

Oh it made me laugh to read that! Remember when I was telling you to pick up potatoes, now you'd have to pick up 4 bags!
(good trick isn't it)

You are absolutley smashing through the program and should be so proud of yourself!

Hi Bride2be,

I just discovered this diary languishing on page 3.... Fortunately, I caught up with you in the recent challenge, checked out your photos, and went "Wow !!" *wolf whistle*

And that "Wow" was from 2 months ago - I'm sure there must be a "more Wow" photo hanging around somewhere....

How about a photo update ? (Please...) With 2/3rds of the journey in your rear-view mirror, you must be feeling pretty chipper.... and looking that way too... Your wedding day is going to star a BEAUTIFUL bride

Wow, its been so long since I've written in here, I've been so busy that I've only occasionally had the chance to jump on and update my results in the challenges.

I'm getting so close to refeed now and its a great feeling!!! I'm feeling so unbelievably good about how I look, but I'm starting to get riduculously hungry and its a little bit of torture waiting 5hours between all my meals

I brought some new clothes the other day for the first time since I started and it felts soooo good to be trying on size 10's and 12's and I also ordered my wedding dress!!!!!!!!! It's the most beautiful dress I've ever seen in my life and I felt perfect in it!! THANK-YOU DR COHEN!!! Now I just have to tone-up my arms so I look like an uber hottie in my strapless gown.. I'm thinking I'm gonna have to post a pic of it along with some new ones of me

I'm soooooooooooooooo hungry!!!!!!!!

I just emailed the clinic... I think its time for me to go on refeed! which is exciting but scary... I am staving in between my meals, my meals are not satisfying, my back is aching, I'm tired and I have no energy gto do anything and I'm ridiculoulsy moody... but mostly just really really really hungry.

Last night I cried for 20mins because I was so hungry and dinner didn't make any difference and all I wanted to do was eat something else but I had no food or softdrink left to have and water was only making me more hungry. My fiancee felt terrible eating his food in front of me.. I think he was worried about me lunging at him and trying to eat it.. or him!!!

At the moment I'm thinking about breakfast tomorrow.. can't wait!!! 1 egg and my vege allowance in tomato and zucchini!!! YUM YUM YUM!

Hi B2B,

Have you tried eating MORE for breakfast and lunch (Meal2 for one, and Meal3 for the other) - that could help get you through the days - but it leaves your Meal1 for night - and an early night could have you sleeping through much of hte hunger. I know Asy recommends the "Meal switcheroo" when people are finding it tough going.

But, yeah, order refeed anyway (maybe a phone call will be quicker than email - who knows.....) And have a chat - clinics can help in other ways when you are struggling - so ask....

Hey Koh,

Yeah I've tried the switcheroo before, I find it weird eating something other than yogurt or eggs for breaky, lol!

My clinic is usually really good and reply to my emails within a day or two and If I haven't heard from them by this arv, I'll give them a call.

Sleeping through the hunger is a good idea... buts its the 2 1/2 hours of waiting until after dinner thats the problem, lol!
