Re: Annabelle Joy's diary
hey aj, very open of you re yr MBTI...talk about a match made in heaven eh?
so (its been a while!!) introverted, sensing, thinking, judging??? funny how this medium impacts on this stuff, you dont come across as introverted. i am an ENTP which is extroverted, intuitive, thinking, perceiving....9% population. mbti is very interesting stuff eh? have you seen the new organisational ones??? attempts to id yr work personality...not that new i spose, but a bit more specific than the regular mbti....apparently its the introverted ones that can adapt their personalities to work place better...hence the saying 'its the quiet ones you have to watch.... well done on your progress mate...its the middle part that the most difficult in my mind...jsut gotta get through that... having said that though, this last few kgs is getting pretty tiresome... pen |

Re: Annabelle Joy's diary
Penny, I figured that most people wouldn't know what those strings of letters meant, not that it bothers me anyway. That's what I am. Yes, introverted, sensing, thinking and judging. I used to be much more obviously introverted than I am these days, but I'm still very happy to spend time on my own. More CEOs are ISTJs than any other type. Probably not the best type to have as the head of the company, but they come to the notice of their superiors along the way because they are diligent and do what's required -- and keep getting promoted. ISTJs are also the most common type for computer programmers, hence my interest in it. As you would expect, the typical computer nerd is strongly ISTJ. They make very good computer programmers, not good when promoted to other positions requiring interaction with people. Accounting is another profession that attracts the type.
I did the MBTI accreditation course a few years back when I needed it for some research I was doing. I still have the old forms, and occasionally will use one for someone. I also used the Strong Interest Inventory, don't remember now what I was on that, but along the same lines. It's much more used for helping people towards a (new) career path. I haven't used, or seen, the new forms although I have seen them advertised in the catalogues. I assume they're machine scored. I can score the old forms myself. AJ

Re: Annabelle Joy's diary
AJ, we use Myer-Briggs as well have used DISC also but yeah, mine pegs me into accounting pretty well, but my wild streak is a bit out in left field and throughs a bit of a ringer into it all. It's been quite a few years now since I've done one. Can't even remember what the actual profile was except it fit pretty good.

Re: Annabelle Joy's diary
very interesting aj, i knew the introverts were the ones who get the promotions...the extroverts are to busy organising the coffee mornings....
just for those who think we are talking arabic....the myers briggs is a personality type test....it is loosely based on introvert vs extrovert, intuitive vs sensing, thinking vs feeling and percieving vs judging.....and apparently we all fit in there somewhere btw the 'judging' one doesnt mean you are judgemental, it means you have good judgement well with those credentials aj, you should be able to ride out the slow times on cohens based on your capacity for good judgement....hence the chicken debacle mate introverted = you didnt go out there and say 'right, who's got my dinner' sensing = mindful of the impact of such a statement thinking = kick in problem solving skills judging = doing the measurements in your head.... cheers pen |

Hi there AJ.........I hope I have the right diary sure wish I knew how to get around better
Thanks for the kind words in my diary. Iam doing great, the happy me is there. Sometimes I get a little annoyed but I figured out why last night..........the little red devile is here I want to see if the diet has made any difference to it. I hope it does cause each month I go through horrible pain. Going for my 4th week blood tests tomorrow. Hope you had a great weekend. I have got another long weekend coming up I only work today and tomorrow then we are off again for 4 days, I hate it. Used to love long weekends that was when I ate and slept and did nothing. Now I have to watch myself, even having nightmares of eating rubbish and getting fatter. Hope your day is full of laughter and love Tracey xxx |

Re: Annabelle Joy's diary
Day 5, Week 16
I'm very late posting today. Nothing to report weight wise. My weight is the same as yesterday. I've had a very emotionally draining day, listening to the problems of a number of people who are in crisis, the most recent being a family member in the middle of a marital breakdown. It seems that everything happened on the same day, as I don't usually have to deal with this type of problem. I'd like to say more about the MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator, AE) but not tonight. I find it fascinating. What most struck me when I did the course was that most people expect others to act in the way that they themselves act, and that they consider this to be the reasonable/sensible/whatever way of behaving. However, for people of a different type this way of behaving can be quite alien. Knowing something about the way the different types will behave can overcome a lot of misunderstandings. I managed to catch up with a lot of the diaries last night, had hoped to get up-to-date tonight, but don't think I can do so. Hopefully, tomorrow will be quieter and I'll have some time to catch up again. With all the members on the forum now it's best not to get behind Thanks for posting, everyone. Tuti, I see from your ticker that you've reached your goal. Congratulations on that. Jill, I started at the gym because I move around rather less than most. The Curves gyms don't require much effort but hopefully will help tone me. I have been very careful to ensure that the exercise is not having any negative effect on my weight loss. To date, I believe that if they do have an effect it is positive rather than negative. It's not making me any hungrier. Erica, if I'd known who took my chicken at the reunion I would have taken it back off their plates. It tasted better than the chicken breast I did manage to get in place of it. Thank you, FBB (how about getting that name changed to Thinnerboombah?), Maya, AE and bitten. I appreciate your messages and good wishes. SMS, my guess would be that you may be the same as me, ISTJ. I'd say you're strong on S and J, not so sure about the other two. Thanks for dropping by and the good wishes, losing and Irene. I feel I need a bit of love at the moment, losing. Connie. the industry needs more people with Extravert (that is the MBTI way to spell it) and Feeling skills. Users like to have someone they can talk with who will actually communicate and listen to them. The SJ part helps you be a good programmer. Penny, I hope to continue the MBTI discussion in the near future. AE, you are such a sweetie. See above for MBTI. Yes, right diary, Tracey. Thanks for your message. You're doing really well for four weeks. I hope this month has been better for you. That's not something I have to worry about any more, thankfully. I had years of flooding up to age 57, so very pleased to see the last of it. Thanks, Rose. I hope that your clinic problems are sorted out and you are able to continue your programme, even if not as conveniently. I see you have just passed halfway, so it's all downhill from now on. Yes, I'm almost halfway, MMO. Soon be all downhill for me too You people are all so lovely, it's good to be able to come here and find you all so motivated, loving and sensible after the issues I've been privy to today. Thank you everyone. I'll read a few diaries now while I try to calm down so I can get to sleep. AJ

So interesting you're an ISTJ... that's the profile we hunt out when recruiting auditors I wouldn't figure you for an I! My hubby is an ESTJ and I'm an ENTP (last time I checked!). Sorry the scale didn't move for you today... but you know what that means don't you?? A BIG DROP COMING!!
