And what thoughtful gifts from your friends and boss, you would expect wine to be the pressie of choice from a winery owner but he must know that now is not the time for wine haha There will be time to celebrate when that ticker finishes its journey !!!!! |

Your blood results are really good. No wonder you are feeling on cloud nine. Sorry I also missed your birthday so 'BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY' I glad you had a great time. I guess hearing friends telling how wonderful you look just makes it all worth while. Well Done. You have been a tower of support for me also AJ and for that I am totally grateful. I can also see your ticker heading to the end as well. See you there. Sonia xxx |

Re: Annabelle Joy's diary
Day 6, Week 17
Up another 200 gms this morning, 600 gms on my low of Sunday. It's not unexpected on Wednesday mornings. Tuesdays don't agree with my weight, although it's all retained fluid. I have a client to see this afternoon and another one to see this evening. Gym this morning, and I have to take my husband to golf and collect him as we are managing with one car at the moment. It's funny, as you get older a few things like that fill in an entire day. When I was younger, I would have fitted those things in around a full day at work. Our son's leaving Tuesday for two months in New York. He's just told me that he will have a spare room if we want to visit. It's just the wrong year I really don't want to travel while I'm on this diet. Otherwise, it would be a great reason to go, and to visit other friends while we're there. Thanks, bitten. Yesterday I looked at a dessert the chef was preparing of pineapple on a circle of pastry, covered with a mandarin sauce and served with banana icecream. I haven't lost my sweet tooth yet. I also haven't lost my taste for wine. Perhaps when I actually do taste them they won't taste as good as I remember Thanks, Stoddy. Yes, she often does give me wine, but I was showing her and the chef the pieces my husband had been photographing. I think she prefers to give me something that actually costs her something to show her appreciation. Thanks, Sonia. You're doing so well at the moment. Keep this up and you'll be at goal in no time. Have a lovely day everyone AJ

Hi AJ,
I'm so glad to hear about your BP and bloods .....more so than your weight loss actually...as mean as that sounds , my point is this.....there are plenty of skinny arsed people out there with terrible cholesterol who haven't got so great a prognosis !!! I heard about another unfortunate death (heart attack ) this week and the guy was built like a greyhound.....and as we know the weight loss follows suit..... Thanks so much for all you do around here. You are a trully kind person. LILY |

Re: Annabelle Joy's diary
Thanks Lily and Sum. Lily, I'm more thrilled about the blood test results than anything else. I started this to improve my health and quality of life and I'm amazed at the results. My husband has never had a weight problem, but struggles to keep his cholesterol down. I said to him the other day that he needs to get another stress test done even though the cardiologist assessed his risk of a heart attack as low, as both of his brothers have had multiple bypass surgery, and one of them in particular has never had an ounce of extra fat.
Sum, once the money's spent it's too late to get it back. Just try not to spend more than he can afford to pay Yes, Pam has some gorgeous things in her little store (a converted room in front of her house). She only sells one of a kind at the moment, then orders in something different next time. AJ

Re: Annabelle Joy's diary
Hi AJ,
Preparation, preparation, preparation!! That is my new motto! The more prepared I am, the less chance I have of eating something I shouldn't. So I am very prepared!! My plans are to not eat carbs at all Saturday, as I will be drinking BEER!! Have a couple of quiet drinks at home with a friend, then we will head to another friends house for a couple more quiet drinks, and then head down to the local pub!! ( a couple more quiet drinks & hopefully get some WOW comments !!) Oh, by the way in my new Levi size 8 jeans & hot new boots!! Somehow I don't think I will end up very quiet by the end of the night! I am really looking forward to it- it better be a great night! Shell

Hi AJ,
Thank you for the kind words in my diary. You know, what also gave me a good smack in the back of the head was reading Asy's thoughts on deviation. So true - its all or nothing and that is going to be my motto now. I see you are soooooo close to halfway Not long now. Cheers Annie |

Re: Annabelle Joy's diary
AJ, I know how the son & long distance Mom relationship is. Big time. I've been overseas literally 1/2 way around the world to the hour for a quarter of a century and I've only been back around 12 times. She's been over here about 4 or 5. She's 81 and no longer a spring chicken. I think that's why I want to get back home as well. I owe her a lot. I would love to visit India for an extended holiday and NZ as well but every time I accumulate sufficient funds for that I find I cannot justify spending it on a holiday but end up spending it to go home instead. Good thing I've "worked" in almost all of Asia with the exception of Ceylon, India, Bangladesh and NZ.
Recently I keep getting the feeling that time is running out. Nothing specific but there you go. Matter of fact Mom & I spend about a hour to 1.5 hours on the phone every Saturday or Sunday night. It's a ritual almost. Wish I could get her computerised but that unfortunately will never happen so skype is out. Except for me using skypeout. AJ, you could do NY in a 24hr run and you could probably do Tuna & Chicken Salads taken on the plane. The only problem would be brekkie and you could also probably carry yoghurt for that as well. It's not like you are going to Indonesia and don't know if you will even have stores with edible foods. I wish I were in your shoes. I be on the next plane diet or no diet! Wild Show Ponies couldn't hold me back!. sms

Re: Annabelle Joy's diary
Day 7, Week 17
Back to Sunday's low this morning (down 600 gms on yesterday). Probably slightly below, as the scales wavered a bit, but I'll stay with Sunday's low. Another quiet day lined up My client of yesterday has given me a little programming job, my favorite work, so I'll stay at home and work on that today, and also take to a neighbour and install a computer I've been doing up for him. My body seems to like me slowing down, although if I slow down too much that doesn't work either. I hope you have a great night on Saturday, shell. If anyone deserves to you do and I'm sure you'll be looking absolutely terrific. Are there any single, wealthy farmers still in the area (with the emphasis on the wealthy)? Did you have wine during refeed to test your tolerance to alcohol after all this abstinence? Annie, remember that we're all here to help you if things get a bit tough. Come onto the forum and look for help, don't hide away. One of the advantages (and disadvantages) of Cohen's is that it is so strict. There's no room for deviations. If you do, it doesn't work properly. Erica, I could almost certainly do the programme while with my son. I'm seeing him on Sunday, will ask for more details of where he's staying then, but I assume he will have cooking facilities if he has an extra bedroom. However, if we go all that way, there are some other friends I'd love to see too, in Washington, North Carolina and possibly in Texas. I haven't been to the US for nine years. I'm just worried that it will all prove too testing on me and I'll deviate, which I don't want to do. I will think on it some more. SMS, my son is only going to be away for two months, and will be very busy if I do visit. I don't see a lot of him now, even though he's only in Melbourne, so the two months is not a problem. It's more the opportunity for free accommodation right in NY, and a chance to visit him while he's there. I used to have three different friends each an hour out of NY so I've been there several times in the past. I understand how you feel about your mother. She could live another 20 years, but might not be here beyond this year. Is VoIP available in Singapore? Better quality than Skypeout and the deals we can get make it very cost effective. Anyway, you've got me thinking. Thanks, Jenni. Yes, I'm thrilled with the size 14. It's amazing how quickly we go down through the sizes. I seem to take ages to lose the kilos, but being down 3-4 sizes in just 17 weeks really is amazing. Strangely, size 14 was the size I used to wear when I was down near my goal weight some 30 years ago. Occasionally I could buy size 12 blouses. I'm not sure what the sizes mean now or how they are different. I do have a size 10 dress that I bought in the US last time I was there when I weighed a bit less than I do now and it was just a bit small for me. I never did get to wear it. I should be able to fit into it soon. Have a lovely day everyone. AJ

Re: Annabelle Joy's diary
Welcome back at your Sunday low!
I'm excited for you, for when you will soon be fitting into that size 10 dress, it will be such an awesome feeling for you!! Very exciting! It's a pity about your son going to NY at the wrong time for you. I know how wonderful it would be for you to visit with him and your friends, but I also understand how important following the program 100% is and for that reason you are not wanting to put temptations that may be too hard to resist in your way! I can sooooo relate! It makes the choice difficult, but remember that is what it is, a choice.... Have a great rest of your week AJ! Vee |

Re: Annabelle Joy's diary
AJ, good you are back down to Sunday's low. Wish I could say the same. Stalled today at no movement means I'm still 200g above Sunday's low.
I normally use VoIP as SingTel has a VoIP/Landline combo that is reasonably cost effective. Other times I use Skypeout (but only rarely) normally just Skype only when calling somebody PC to PC or certain companies that use skype with 800 numbers in the US (which is nice because calling a US 800 number from Singapore will result in full IDD charges instead of toll-free). I realized your son was only going for 2 months but was just thinking about the free lodging and NYC! for a break. Wow! I just notice your ticker. You may well have enough of a drop between now and this coming Sunday to hit the 20Kg gone forever mark! Won't that be a fantastic feeling! You go girl!

Re: Annabelle Joy's diary
Day 1, Week 18
Down a little today, 200 gms to a new low. Slowly moving in on that 20 kgs. I've averaged 1 kg a week over the past four weeks, an improvement on the 800 gms I had been averaging in the weeks before that. Measurements are down a bit again, with mainly 1/2 cm losses in most places. Hopefully, another fairly quiet day today, although losses two days in a row don't seem to happen to me even if life does slow down. Thanks, Vee, SMS, Kate, Jodie, Barb and MMO for posting and everyone else for dropping by. Thanks, Vee. I love that notion of a choice. I am thinking more seriously of going, as I would stay with our son and with friends and have access to kitchens. I'm not too concerned about temptation, more about not being able to get what I want when I want it. I know my friends would help, just don't like the idea of putting them out. It's just the wrong year SMS you've set me thinking. It really is an opportunity, and my son says he's not likely to be sent again next year. I'll be seeing him on Sunday, will talk with him then. I've hardly spoken with him for weeks, he's been very busy at work and they've been interstate at weddings the last three weekends (three different states). I'm hoping I may make the 20 kgs by Sunday, not counting on it though the way my losses occur. That will be four calendar months for me too, so a good date to make 20 kgs Thanks, Kate. I've had a lot of years of dieting to learn how my body works when I'm on a diet Welcome back, Jodie, and congratulations on doing so well on your holiday. There isn't much time in your life for anything else, I remember doing all that in the past, certainly couldn't manage it now. I remember when we were moving into our current house (30 years ago), on which we had been doing much of the work, and my parents were helping us move. My mother discovered dust a cm deep under the bed and commented that with work, study and building something obviously had to be missed Thanks, Barb. Glad you liked the spreadsheet. Thanks MMO. Hoping to make that extra 400 gms soon. Have a lovely day, everyone. AJ
