Stare down them scales! It'll start moving soon, Vee. I think the lack of sleep is messing with you. I've found that the more I sleep and the better I sleep, the better for my weight loss. You can beat it!
I'll add some fairy dust too to help the scales move

Thanks guys!
I'm following my own advice on this one (which I have been giving to others) and I'm hanging in there! I know it will pass eventually (the tough times) and I know that eventually those scales will HAVE to move on down, so following your advice, Mette (GLARING at those scales, while givng my body a hug for being so good to me all along!) Louise, yes, the cm loss was dismal as well! Vee |

I'm sure you'll be rewarded soon Vee! When I discussed my very slow losses recently with my clinic, the consultant told me that sometimes a plataeu can be a good sign because it can mean that your body is working on losing some long-stored and hard to budge fat stores. Now, I don't know if that's TRUE... but it certainly sounds like a good thing if it is
Even if the scales and the CM's aren't moving, at least with Cohen's you can be SURE that your body is working hard to accomplish SOMETHING good right now, which will manifest itself very soon I'm sure Have a glorious weekend sweet lady!

Thanks Lulabelle,
that is what I think is my issue at the moment. The last time I lost weight, I maintained around this weight for a while, and it's actually about the lowest weight I've been in about 12 years. So I figured it had to be those old, stubborn fat stores not wanting to shift! I'm happy to say that I was nice and busy at work, so didn't have much time for thinking about food and cravings, so that made the day go a lot easier. I've just realised that I've been semi-stressing about my son, who is 14 and is going to his first music concert ever tonight! It is for a metal band, and it is taking place here in Brisbane, and he is going with some of his school mates. I've been adamant that I'm picking him up after the concert, and I just hope he has a great time. He has been proving that he is responsible and has thought out strategies in the event something unexpected happens, so Mum is having to let her dearest stray a bit further from the nest. I think that is why I was struggling earlier on in the week with wanting food. Funny how we only realise what is causing it AFTER the event! Anyway, that means I have to stay up late tonight (well for me that is late, as picking him up about 11ish) and I'm usually in bed by 9.30 trying to get in my weight dropping sleep! Vee |

Hi Vee,
Time to give you a big hug methinks - C - how was that? Wow, this journey is just so full of new stuff eh? But, you know, you are sounding SO focussed, and determined, I just KNOW you are going to beat this - and you know it too, eh !! You've come a long way, darl !! Quote:
You and I both know that will need more "staring down" than most - but, once done, it'll be "onward and downward" as though nothing had happened. You're up to it - hang in there and you can't fail. Quote:
You've got it, girl !! 'zackly right way to go - keep on loving what that gorgeous bod is doing for you - it's doing it's best, as you are !!! In the end, it will be a VERY good friend to you.... Quote:
Eww - I know Mum's get a little more stressed than the average bloke - as you know, flying further from the nest is part of the deal - but he'll be back tonight.... A few more years from now, that may not be the case (but you knew that too hey!). Meanwhile, "good on ya, Mum" for allowing him to be him. Hope he has a ball at the concert. And I hope you are bursting with pride in him, and you !! Good on you, Vee - you're kicking goals that you probably thought could never be !! (now THAT is worth thinking about.... then give yourself a big pat on the back ) Hugs, Koh

More fairy dust to help
Vee I went through a stage where I wasnt getting much movement on the tapemeasure, yet I could feel my body changing, I think the fat was going from places on my body which I did not wrap the measure around. It will happen, soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Thanks so much Koh, you really know how to pick a girl's spirits!
Thanks also Louise, the fairy dust and everything else seems to have helped!! Mette, the scales did NOT like that glaring, LOL think they must have felt well and truely intimidated! Hopped on the scales this morning, and there was a 500g drop....now this is BEFORE I'm due to have my massage!! LOL So down to 75.6 this morning! Love it! Koh, son did have a ball last night at his concert. He could hardly talk he was so hoarse from yelling and head banging.... It was a momentus experience for him and his friends! So glad it all went so well! Can't say I particularly enjoy this waiting up late lark to pick him up. But then maybe that is what helped with the weight shift. Who knows.... the body has a mind of its own! Have a lovely relaxing weekend, all you lovely people! Vee |

Hi Vee
Glad to see you are winning the stubborn war. It's a hard thing for mum's to let go of their babies. They will always be our babies in our eyes at least, even when they are 6ft tall, shaving and needing lots of showers to clear off the stench. But it sounds like he had a great time, and now the next time won't be quite that hard for you. yay for Vee Watch those scales drop now Happy losing Katie |

Apologies Koh, I meant you know how to pick UP a girl's spirits.
Well today I was tired, so I took it easier. Did some shopping (groceries) this morning and had my lovely massage this afternoon. I took along my own blend of oils that I made up for myself to help tone the skin and improve elasticity. As usual, it was wonderful! This afternoon, I had a lovely relaxing rest, so hopefully I'm helping speed up the losses again! Oh yes, today I finally got some new bras! There is a sale on at DJs and they were a pretty good price, so I invested in 3 new ones. I couldn't believe the size, 12D! LOL don't think I've ever been that small before! Hopefully I won't have to buy any more in any smaller sizes! I guess only time will tell! That's my update for today! Vee |

Sunday update
I've been having a pretty nice and relaxing weekend. Just what the doctor ordered.
Today I wore size 14 jeans and a size 14 yellow shirt. Even I thought I looked pretty good! I certainly felt like I looked good, so I had some pics taken to share with you all! Vee |

Hi Vee,
and you have HOW MUCH left to lose??? Hehe, despite being on here, and KNOWING that you have "more to go", I still find myself saying "Where from?" Maybe, as AJ says, "Overweight is the new normal" - and my eyes have got used to that too. Anyway, Vee - you are looking pretty shmick - and will likely look even more shmick into the future as you step down even further.... Hugs, Koh

Vee I'm SO happy to see the scales FINALLY moved... and WHOA what a movement!!! That's AWESOME!!!
Good things really do come to those who wait (and remain deviation free) huh?? I'm so glad to hear your son had a great time too. It's such an exciting time of life for kids... and such a steep learning curve for poor Mums and Dads who worry! I'm sure your son has a pretty wise head on his lil shoulders and will do you proud as he grows up into a man You look AMAZING!!! You've literally transformed! You must feel so incredible when you look at those photos and really SEE just how much you've achieved. I'm gob smacked - and it takes a lot to shut me up *laughs* Hope this is a start to a wonderful week for you!
