Hi DC,
Congrats on getting your re feed!
Seems to be a few of you out there at the moment, It will be great for you to all be able to help each other.
Not sure about the re ordering of your re feed, you would probably have to check with your clininc.
LOL at the moody coment!

It is quite weird but you will know when it is time.
Doesn't sound like you are quite there yet though, the closer you get to your natural body weight, the easier it will be to maintain. (so I have been told, and it is working out really well for me!)

How exciting for you!!

Hmmm well still no signs that I am ready for refeed, bummer!! It all seems fairly simple till about day 10 then I start to mix proteins and all that jazz. Hope I don't get to confused. I am trying to think of things to cook during this stage.

I might see how I am feeling by next Wednesday and what my weight is doing and consider starting the following week. I am at a loss as to why my weight loss has slowed so much. I am doing everything right, even writing everything down just to make sure so I don't know..

Arghh the kids are calling will be back....

DC, I started protein mixing yesterday with egg, steak and vegetables for breakfast, then just the usual meals after that. Today I decided that I really should mix proteins for at least two meals. I'm not even trying to think of interesting recipes, just cooking two types of protein and having them with vegetables. It's not very interesting, but I am following the rules and mixing.

I thought that deciding when to start refeed would be easy. It wasn't. I'm pleased now that I started when I did, because I do believe it was the right time, but the signals weren't what I'd been led to expect. If you put weight on in the first few days, apparently that means you started to early, so go back on the diet.

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time.
My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Thanks AJ... that is also my plan just cooking the two proteins and not getting to creative.

I have an appointment with a part time consultant that has just started here on Thursday, so I might wait till then, and start Refeed on Friday. I am quiet happy with where I am at, still have quiet a few 'wobbly bits' but I think that will get better once I start to excercise to tone it up.

I don't want to get to low as I would rather be at a weight that was easier to maintain then stress about being a lower number on the scales, does that make sense??

I am pretty sure I used to sit around the 60-65kg mark quiet comfortably, I think, can't really remember I am 61.4 as of this morning.

One thing I wanted to ask is in the guidelines it says that you should never allow yourself to go 2-3kgs over you goal weight, but when I exercise I actually put on weight, so how do I tell if I am gaining weight as in actually weight gain that I need to be careful of or if I am gaining because I am building muscle???

I tried on a wedding dress AGAIN this morning (my aunty gave it to me, it was the one she wore to her first wedding) so I was abit iffy about using it - you know, it could have 'bad' vibes attached to it (she did divorce after wearing it) but it actually looks REALLY nice. I would be making alterations to it and it is going to look like a different dress anyway, so I am not sure The other option is one I have found on the net. It is quiet cheap, and I really like it, but I am not sure I would feel comfortable in a strapless dress as I have never been one to wear strapless. I would rather be comfy on the day then stressing my dress is going to slide down and expose my now VERY deflated breasts

Well thats it from me for now, hope everyone has a great day

DC

Hi DC,
You won't gain that much in muscle very quickly.
I have a set of scales that measure muscle in kg's, body fat% etc, and I am only getting up to gaining 1kg of muscle in 6 months of fairly heavy weight lifting & cardio 5-6 times a week.
I found it much easier to go by what the tape measure says.

Good luck when you start re feed, how exciting!

Okay, I have made an executive decision...Wednesdays is the beginning of my 'cohens week' so I have decided I am going to start refeed tomorrow. I have an appointment with a consultant on thursday arvo but I am sure I can manage to do the first two days on my own. They are very basic just increasing protein and Veg and on day 2 I have to add a good fruit.

I feel as though I am ready, I am not dying of starvation like I thought but as I said this morning I am happy with where I am at so, I will see how I go.

LIke AJ said, if I put on weight in the first few days it may be to early and I will go back on the program, but I think I will be okay.

Oooohhh I want to go to bed now so I can wake up tomorrow

Well here I am at the end of Day 3 on Refeed!

It has been pretty basic so far just increasing old protein and Veg. Day 2 and 3 (today) I also got to add a good fruit and today I also got a piece of bread. I had that this morning as part of meal 1 and I did enjoy it. I felt alot more satisfied after brekky. Things seem pretty basic up until day 10 (of 1 which is when I start to mix proteins.

My weight hasn't changed at all since Wednesday, I would be rapt if I could lose 1 kg - then I would spot on 60kgs, and that just sounds better then 61

I am wondering what it will say in the morning, after having bread today, I feel okay though.

I have a heap of meat waiting to be cut into portions, but refeed is a little different, as the weights are constantly changing so I am going to have to go and figure out what weights I need, I like having all my stuff pre weighed. It makes things so much easier.

Thats about it..... might try to get a bit of shut eye, or cruise around the boards for a bit

bye bye

DC, I found the early part fairly easy too. I haven't pre-weighed as I've been too busy to spend the time that's needed sitting and planning. However, it does take some care when you get to the mixing of proteins, and adding milk and subtracting protein in its place. I'm still coping well with everything. Dr Cohen seems to know what he's doing when he plans our refeed programmes.
